The stonework is absolutely amazing! It just astonishes me that the house was built in the late 1700’s and, although it is decaying, much of the stone structure is still standing. What craftsmanship on those beams with obvious hand hewn marks!
I was born and raised in southeastern Kentucky and still live in eastern Kentucky to this day. I love how you are visiting these old homes and getting video and a record of them before they are lost to history! Keep up the GREAT work! If you’re ever in my part of the world, don’t hesitate to contact me! I’d LOVE to explore a few homes! Thank You for your dedication! Take care!!!

Yes Thanks. As a carpenter I love getting glimpses of old school joinery etc when walls are exposed. A couple of well secured tarps on the roof of this place would have given many more years to its life.
    Thanks again.

🌿 I remember seeing this house when I lived in Danville. Fascinating beyond words and sad.... if those walls could talk! The music is lovely and well suited for the somber decay.

A beautiful presentation; artistic and informative at the same time. I very much appreciate the attention to details: the old nails, the wood beams that show the marks of the tools used on them, the remarkably strong construction of those thick walls and strong floors. At about 5:14 I noticed a cross on the wall between the attic windows, maybe painted on. I wonder how long that's been there. Looking at this house you can almost see the people who built it. I love that view toward the driveway, it's so peaceful; I could sit there and look at that and the other views for a long time. Louisiana had Belle Grove mansion and Kentucky has the William Crow house.

+Andrew Brendan Thank you, very much Andrew. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, and all the details that were there. I too was fascinated by the tool marks on the beams, and that view from the driveway is probably my favorite shot I've ever filmed ;) Thanks again.

It's such a lovely old house and a shame it's caving in on itself. Through the video you can feel the weight of all the memories that family must have made there, heck you can imagine laughing children playing in those rooms. It's so eerie and amazing.

Courtney B sadly, historical society's don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to do that. and that's what would take to put these large old houses back in sha6, if it's even salvageable. that's why.

Nice thought but there are so many old houses to preserve who's going to pay for them ,that be us. We pay enough as it is. But yes it's so hard to see them just disnerate. I wish too that there was a solution to take care of all these old houses. So sad.

Loved the music.I am new but the music slightly familiar from watching old movies and just the right volume as some, tend to display loud unwelcome sounds and yes I got your vibe and how you felt about this home just from the music was enough and the way it seemed to trail off and echo in the distance. So to a by gone time and with what little remained it seemed to be a well loved place. Really enjoyable thanks for sharing.

this was so sad, I got teary-eyed. I wish somebody would bring her back to her grandeur. and have people in the county have her refurbished. You could put baby chicks, goats, donkeys, and Cavs in these sweet cute animals would attract people for the tour. During the tour people could pet the animals like a petting zoo. Kids would love it. When you shop that view of the ground from going out the gate I could see snow all around and it be just like a Christmas card. It's just a beautiful beautiful Farm. The music you chose for background affect was beautiful. I love that kind of 20s flapper Deco era did music you chose for background affect was beautiful. I love that kind of twenties flapper deco area. even put a. Car and truck just for a effect and this would generate public exposure for the tour. But you're choice 4 the music you used during your flog I just loved. It could be done just try to initiate interest.🐮🤧💔🐎🐑🐇🐁🐀🦏🐖🐄🐤🐣🐾

By the by, well done. The music has the feeling of a dirge which fits the dying house crumbling around you. Glad you got out without the whole thing coming down around your ears.

Your passion and empathy absolutely did come through, Chris. My heart was aching by the end of the video. That shot looking up through the house as the sun shown through was particularly moving. I've seen other documentaries of 18th century historic homes that were, believe it or not, in a worse state of advanced decay that have been shored up and stabilized awaiting a proper restoration project. Some have even had a temporary structure built over and around them to minimize exposure to the elements. If this house is as historically significant as you say, (and I do believe you, BTW), then a preservation group needs to petition the National Trust to step in and save this valuable piece of history before it's too late. IMHO, whether it's the oldest or 2nd oldest stone house is irrelevant. It is historically significant enough to preserve. Again, this was a very moving and heartfelt video. You have a gift in the way you are able to invoke emotion in your videos that most others that so many others are lacking. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Is your other project up and running yet? Please let me know, so I can subscribe to it. Thanks again.

Your music choice was excellent as per usual. It just added to the melancholy state of mind one gets when watching the demise of this beautiful house. If it is the oldest stone house in the area why doesn't the historical board do something to save it? This just makes me so sad to see something of such magnificence just die and rot. I love your narrative. Just even knowing some history of the building adds such a personal touch. You went to the trouble to find out more about this building. It makes it that much more interesting. You give names and dates which means if we the viewer want to do more research on this subject hopefully we can but maybe not. Thanks for another amazing and entertaining video. CANADA

Chris, I always was Fascinated by the Daneshall Estate back in the '50's when I lived in Louisville. It was nearby Seneca Park ad at that time was an intact Private estate. I believe the property was later subdivided and developed as a residential community, with the mansion remainig, and perhaps the carriage house too. If still there it is much like the other old mansions you document.

It's such a shame that Kentucky isn't trying to save her! 😢

Hopefully someone can salvage parts or wood or stone etc that can be used to restore or add character to other homes. Lots of old brick in outer buildings might be reusd.
