She has started a revolution for all of us who didn’t know what is involved in finding beautiful things that are not expensive . Plus she is such a positive spirit.
Hi Laura and Jesse, I really enjoy your channel for several reasons, the thrifting for sure but most of all what pleasant and generous people you are. Thank you for the knowledge you share and the feel good message you leave us with!
Hanmer pottery is vintage now in New zealand and very collectable. I'm 59 as a kid my mum would buy some small piece every year when we camped at Hanmer at Easter time.
Come on everyone , please leave Laura a thumbs up.She is teaching us so much and it’s the least we can do for her.Happy New Year everyone from Lisa from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Laura & Jesse, Wishing you and your wonderful followers a very Happy New Year! 🎉 and a Healthy & Prosperous 2025. Laura, Thank you for your limitless enthusiasm and kindness in sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us every week. We enjoy seeing a small snippet of your life and a huge abundance of your passion. I am putting this out there in the hope of manifesting this number, but I think 500K subscribers is a lovely round number to reach by the end of 2025 and if anyone can do it, it is you! Love and best wishes are sent from the UK 🇬🇧 Hugs Victoria x x x
I love that you found a piece of pottery from New Zealand. Where I live. Jim and Naomi Nelson. Jim was the potter and from Scotland. He has since passed. His wife is from England.
Heads up about the dent in the birds head . Take a piece of dowel or steel rod , insert through the body of the bird , up into the head space . Gently tap the dented area moving the dowel across the dent until you are happy with the result . Some damage will remain but improvements will be seen ! ❤🦘
The metal bird with the dented head. Can you access the inside of the head thru the bottom? If you can, take something wooden or maybe a long screw driver with a plastic handle that is long enough to reach the inside of the head and tap the bottom gently. You can remove dents in metal by tapping from the inside to push out the dent. Alternately you can use a glue gun with a small dowel and pop the dent by glueing the dowel to the metal and gently pulling up. WARNING, the heat from the hot glue could discolor the metal.
You really need to travel to North Carolina to pick. I would also encourage you to visit Seagrove, NC and see all of the potters living there and creating beautiful things!
Laura & Jessie, you’ve taught me so much. I love to thrift and have come across treasures of my own. Thank you so much! I invite you to drive up to Canada and thrift across our great country. ❤️🇨🇦
My brother does car repairs. When I have a dented item, he uses a thing that pulls out dents on cars. They can be really small dents. It's worth asking a body shop..pennies to do and takes a minute or two.
Laura! I have to thank you, I have been watching you for years now and LOVE your content! I've always been a thrifter, but considering diving into the world of reselling. I recently visited the Goodwill Outlet/Bin you had mentioned in your Sacramento visit, as I had nver been there before... I found a brand new, with tags Pendleton wool blanket for $20 and couldnt believe it! Never would of gone there had you not introduced it! Thank you for all you do!
Happy New Year!! The pottery vase at the start of the video gives me strong Greek vibes, based on the color of the clay and the mozaic-like design. Just a thought! 😊
The Iron Mountain pottery is the same set that i have but mine is in browns. It was my parents wedding registry set and i love adding to it. I recently found the large bean pot!!!
Come to Hot Springs, Arkansas!! 😊 We have Dryden Pottery Studio along with a plethora of thrift, vintage, boutique, and antique shops. Plus, you can go dig for crystals. The blue smokey crystals that have been coming out are GORGEOUS!! BathHouse Row is fascinating and FUN! Y'all come to Arkansas!!😁🤗❤️
I remember when you found all these items..it's fun to see and learn about all of these treasures..thanks Laura! My favorite is the watermelon picnic basket ❤
A suggestion for a van/thrift Trip - Victoria, BC, Canada (my home town) and Vancouver, BC. Your American dollars go farther there (your dollar is worth more than ours) and the scenery is beautiful. Great thrifting opportunities in both cities. Abigail from Abigail’s Artful Abode was there recently.
Wishing you both (and the kitties!) a happy New Year! But can I ask you something? I have been watching all you videos from the start recently since I am struck at home with a brain tumor awaiting surgery. I like your style, even if I don't share it... but you certainly saved part of my sanity for the past weefs. But what I whant to ask... no, beg for, is the Japan trip video. I love Japan, but I now know I'll never be able to visit... and you talked a lot about yours so I'm sure it was fantast. So, pretty please with sugar on top? Thank you ever so much!
Laura and Jesse, I’m following you from the Netherlands, I love your enthousiasme, and how much you know about everything, I wish you a happy new year with loods of trifting!! ❤❤❤
Hi Laura! I really enjoy the videos of you and Jesse thrifting about. I live in Springfield Ohio and would love for you to come back to the Extravaganza here!!
Def need to come on down to KENTUCKY!!! Bowling Green, KY has fantastic antique malls and swing in and visit the CORVETTE MUSEUM for some extra fun…. Lost River Cave, Mammoth Cave and visit all the antique stores in Cave City, KY. So much to see and Kentucky is gorgeous!!!
Laura....please consider coming to Southern Oregon for the ultimate treasure hunt at Jacksonville's City Wide Yard Sale in September! Between snagging incredible finds, you can totally slip in some delicious wine tasting at nearby Rogue Valley vineyards. Wine, wandering, and wonderful discoveries...what could be better!?
To remove dents from metal sculptures: from what I understand but have not tried .. you use a heat gun or hair dryer, or even boiling water and soft taping around. There are also small plunger type tools you can use to help pull it out. ofc depends upon the metal
Laura and Jessie, My 1st time posting, but watching alot longer! Great content that you share in all avenues! I love how you both enjoy traveling, picking and mixing other venues at the same time. I never knew much about pottery, but I now include that in my searched. Looking forward to watching some of you past videos for the education value on Pottery artists, etc! Thanks for sharing! Tanya from Iowa
Laura I brought one of those fishes for my brother in law for his 50th in the 80ties I paid 30 Pounds .You can put a candle inside it .i had it from the garden centre lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Laura&Jesse...Everyone wants you to come visit, you can just pick and choose because we all love you and are so proud of how far you have come since we started following! The people from Hot Springs Ar. The anywhoodies...lol I'm sure are some fun people to visit because I was born and raised in Arkansas and my Mom was a vintage picker in the 70's when most people wouldn't even admit they were thrifters. I now live in Arizona and bo matter where you roam there are always fun things to find...so come visit us in Arizona too!
I used to make ceramics when I was in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades and I loved it. My sister ended up with the majority of my ceramics that I made back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. I need to ask her if she still have the entire nativity set that I made for my mom and try to get that back. I hope that she didn't give it away.
Hey Laura, A Hungarian here. I’m pretty sure that vase is not Hungarian - but I know which region style you’re thinking of. I hope this helps! Happy New Year!
I would recommend going to the Phoenix AZ area for a thrifting road trip. Tons of great thrift stores and antique malls. I lived there for 6 months and found so many great treasures!
St. Louis Road Trip! We'd love to see you here! There are 2 antique malls in particular that you guys would love and of course loads of thrift stores, markets, etc...
Hi Laura! I don't know of any potters in Oregon any longer, though 5th St Public Mkt in Eugene would be a great resource... Our FAVORITE potters spot is in North Georgia. Mark of the Potter is an AMAZING spot that is a working studio. There are loads of small vendors in the south that come to mind, but that one is awesome.
Hi Laura we are so lucky to have a T.V program that tells you about pottery. It called the Great pottery throwdown. I dont know if you could see it in the U.S. ❤🇬🇧🤗
9:34 Ah, I used to have Fulani wedding blankets on my bed. Love the look but mine were just too coarse. Sold them, but still kept a couple of softer cushions
Kia Ora from New Zealand! Happy New Year! Laura, I watch you all time and absolutely love all your content. You are a great inspiration for saving wonderful items and giving them a new home. All the best to you and Jesse for 2025! Ka Kite ano from Aotearoa.
Could you head further south to Jacksonville and Ashland ,Oregon? These were two towns I knew when I was a kid, attending Evans Valley Union School, District 62. The local creek was a tributary of the Rogue River and Jacksonville was attended by all American History students at the high school level - mining history and influence of Chinese culture.
Look for local pottery studios. They exist for potters who don't have space in their life for a wheel and a kiln etc... I met two life long friends because I wondered into an open pottery studio. Potters are the best! They will let you hang and chat while they work if your lucky! Probably even let you help them load their kiln!
Come thrifting and antiquing in the St. Louis metro area! There is an excellent Savers across the river in Fairview Heights, IL, as well as an antique mall called The Chirping Frog that's ~30 minute drive from there. There are many beautiful antique shops in St Louis: R. Ege Antiques, The Hill, and the Green Shag, which has tons of MCM.
She has started a revolution for all of us who didn’t know what is involved in finding beautiful things that are not expensive . Plus she is such a positive spirit.

Our local goodwill very seldom has the treasures you pick up.

When cars get hail marks they sometimes use dry ice to pop them out. Contact a body shop and see if they can help you with info.
Happy New Year Laura and Jesse. Looking forward to your 2025 adventures
You really need to travel to North Carolina to pick. I would also encourage you to visit Seagrove, NC and see all of the potters living there and creating beautiful things!
I agree! The northern mountains have tons of potters as well!
Love the haul styling sessions! Thanks for sharing

We think that the ding should stay, because it is one of a kind, and proves that Laura and Jesse owned it❤
What a great solution! Thanks so much.

I would love you to do this please 🙏🏻I was born on Vancouver Island but moved to the UK when I was 3, it would be lovely to see it through your eyes 😊
You could put paper serviettes in the hole in the horse platter ❤

Amy Fields is a potter local to you. Maybe you could go on a field trip to her studio and take us along!!!
The vase, the second item looks Greek to me with the "meander" along the top and bottom of the border.
Love the update segment!
Love watching your videos and I only wish that Goodwill in Southern California had even a fraction of what we see on your videos!
