Hi All - Apparently UA-cam decided to play this video in all sorts of languages. I’m shook! You came to my little booth, Heirs of Earl and bought the ceramic bell! I’m so honored! Thank you so much for shopping local! I’m thrilled! From all the vendors at Aunt Bees House 🐝 thank you!
I’ve been stuck inside for 2+ years with Long Covid, missing going to op shops (thrifting). Laura’s channel was one of the things that kept me reasonably sane. This week, I managed a trip out, and guess what was waiting on a shelf at Salvos in Tasmania, Australia? Some Oregon Myrtlewood from North Bend!!!! I bought it in gratitude, and as a tribute. Much thanks, Laura and Jessie …. Truly.
Two of my kids and I have been housebound since two months before Covid. We have complications of an immune system disorder and late stage Lyme Disease. Many of our symptoms crossover with Long Haul symptoms. I wish you all well on your journey back to good health ❤️
@@factbasedrealityyes me too with autoimmune Sjogrens and Addison’s. I have gotten covid every 6 months this year and only God has kept me alive. I have it now
Hi, Laura! Just wanted to express my gratitude to you for shopping vintage and preloved. Thank you for shopping and highlighting Salem and Aunt Bee’s House and for supporting my booths there! I’m so glad my Mexican face vases found a fabulous home. 💛🧡🤎
We love them so much!!! They make the whole bookshelf look so much more interesting. We’re so happy to spread the word of your wonderful space and Aunt Bees! Such a great mix of vendors 😍
I just flew home tonight from my first-ever trip to Oregon, and I did my very best to channel my inner Laura as I did a tour of the Portland-area Goodwills and antique shops! Came back with a few fantastic luggage-friendly scores and some future FOMO for the SE 6th Ave Goodwill (went twice, was in awe). Now you're making me want to do the rest of the state!
My mom has a set of three of the Mexican face pots! She bought them in Xochimilco (Mexico City) where we lived in the early/mid nineties. The are staggered sizes and we call them “The Three Tenors” 😂. They really are just decorative pots for a garden or patio. We also put Santa hats on them for Christmas! 😂
Laura, seriously...you could grab an armload of stuff, throw it across the room and it would look amazing!! LOL I so love that you style up your finds to give us all ideas for ourselves.❤❤
Having staff that is friendly and inviting is a huge selling point. We visited an antique mall in Piedmont Oklahoma where we met awesome staff and vendors that were very accommodating. We love your adventures Jesse and Laura.
Thanks to ‘us’ for ‘hanging out to the end’ your vlogs and you guys are such a ‘tonic’ and so enjoyable………. I’m sure Im not the only subscriber with long term chronic health issues who turns to you for a ‘joyful diversion’ when things are tough….. And for the sheer pleasure when they are not! Hx PS Im from the UK and I looove Goodwill (and now Superthrift!) though Im glad we dont have them here as Im sure Id get lost in a time loop, never to return to the real world!
Oh my gosh-the memories came flooding in when I saw that Ironrite. My mother had one when I was very young. I remember her using it to iron my father’s good slacks. He was a banker and she kept him supplied with professional looking pants. 🙂 It was kept along one wall in our kitchen. Seven of us lived in a 7 room upper flat and it was hard fitting that huge thing in our home. Lovely memories. I can still picture her working with that Ironrite.
You did a great job with the copper stand. You and I have the same taste in many things. I can't tell you what my favorite thing is. I love it all! Friday is my special day; because I get to go on a virtual shopping trip with you and Jesse. Looking forward to next Friday!
Wow, so many amazing finds! That lion sculpture! I can’t wait to hear when you find out what it’s worth, as well as both gorgeous paintings! I love the tray, as well! Perfect evening of thrifting, you two!
When I go to sleep, my husband son are watching the Mike Tyson fight but when I go to sleep, I always I don’t turn my TV on, but I get my iPad and lay here with my cat while they’re watching the fight and I look for you and I get so excited on Fridays because I know there’s gonna be a video from you. You made my night sad isn’t it?
What I love about your videos is the fact that you never show eating places and you buying food to supposedly keeping your strength up. Lol Have been watching you for years Laura and love now your journey with Jessie..
My favorite things were both paintings, the Mexican face vases, and the little salt and pepper shakers. You find the coolest stuff. I love your home. I'd just walk around staring at all your neat finds.
I loved the brass stand that you revised with the art piece. And of course the lion head was gorgeous. I just returned from a vacation down the Oregon coast 2 weeks ago. I was able to hit a few Goodwills and thrift stores but didn’t buy a whole lot. The coast was too beautiful to stay away from for long. But gosh those stores were so much better organized than Ohio goodwills!
@ we ended up skipping part of the North coast to go to the game! Not the ending we wanted but had so much fun. Oregon fans were very nice, and there were a lot of Buckeye fans there too! Had a blast.
I love your videos! I lived in Portland for 10 years and would go thrifting as much as I could. These videos scratch that itch now that I'm across the country. Thanks Laura!
So much fun! Don't know if I can pick a favorite, but I love Lions. Also, the 3 part antique painting is a favorite. Laura, you look great, and Jesse's "not too shabby" either. Still wearing my little turquoise fish on my curving pinky. It seems to help balance it out. Blessings, Cat
The very moment I spotted those pottery heads, my whole body lurched forward as if I could grab them through the screen!…so silly I know, but they are exactly what I’m always looking for to compliment my artwork on my walls….I’m suffering such severe envy because I can’t even buy them from you as I’m so far away! My advice though would be to hold onto them for now, because I absolutely know that high end designers would pay premium prices for those beauties! 😉👌 great scores this trip, loved ALL your finds!
Your thrift stores are so much better than ours in Minnesota. I've probably said that before... I loved this thrift so much. Fell in love with everything. I can't pick my fave!!!
Great video! Of course we stuck it out to the end! Okay, South Salem Goodwill gave us the most amazing 7 piece outdoor patio set for 99 bucks a few years ago! 400 bucks in pillows later, we have enjoyed it for years! Great finds, and thanks for letting us know about the obscure Salem places we have not been! Cheers, Vintage Vault PDX Linda and Bill
This video was so relaxing and fun to watch. What a team you are! So joyful in what you are doing, and quality time together too! The copper frame with the hanging art was a score! The way you hid those weird holes in the base with the contact paper that looked like wood, pristine job! Very cool.
Wow. This video was amazing. You found so many stunning unique pieces. The Robert Banister painting is phenomenal. Loved the glass and stone side tables and the lion sculpture is magnificent. Have to also mention the Mexican face vases. They are stunning. I really loved the styling part at the end, especially the shelves. So impressive! Your styling is truly inspiring. Thank you ❤️❤️
They use to be a really good apple. When I was a produce manager we noticed that the red delicious apples were looking more bright red and bruising more easily. The texture of the apples became mealy and gritty. Like eating wet sand. What happened was the the apple producers were messing with the genetic of the apples to make them more attractive. True red delicious apples are a darker red with streaks of brown and yellow. They were crispy, sweet, and juicy. I won’t buy red delicious any more. I prefer Fuji.
I have a laundry basket full of Kokeshi dolls. All different shapes and sizes, including nesting dolls. I put a few on market place the other day for $10 each and so far no one is interested. My daughter has the cutest collection of them though. So adorable!
The Robert Bannister painting is an awesome find! Great haul in general. Your re-use of the copper frame was a wonderful idea. I might have gone with artwork that picked up the earthy tones of the frame though. Thanks for taking us along!
Laura, I love watching your videos packed w/ info such as prices, identifying the piece & condition issues. Could you please add some picking vintage Christmas items as well? I really enjoyed your video from a few years ago before you moved & you went to Goodwill to find Christmas goodies. It was very refreshing to see what you got & how you styled it n your home. ❤️
The ironing thing is called a mangle. For sheets, table linens etc. some women were so good at using them, they could do shirts. Expensive thing to have back in the day.
Yeah, I kind of laughed their generation is stunned and like "what is this!?"😅 In my apartment building, there actually still is a mangle to use when doing laundry. It's a modern version although, but the older generation still use it for their sheets.
Your videos are my little vacation to the States , thank you for the joy you bring to my life . I 'm from venice italy ,shops like yours don't exist here .❤

Oh, my goodness! I can’t believe you found an Ironrite! My mom had one. We ironed sheets and pillowcases on it. I learned how to iron on that. So cool!💜👍🥰
I have to say the burl wood vase on your kitchen counter is gorgeous! I was sad though that the Lalique bowl was sitting in a second hand store. Lalique used to be so revered.
That triple panel painting! Definitely my favorite although everything you found was gorgeous. The other super large painting is also amazing and the lion head...... what a day you and Jesse had! Can't believe what a great pair you are and that he thrifts with you all the time

Mine started out in German but it corrected after I went out and came back.
It had happened to another creator I was watching a couple of days ago.
Loved the finds you brought home. You and Jesse make a great team. I really like the 2 faces pots from Mexico. Loved the pictures as well.

My goodness, im stunned you left a lalique bowl on the shelf!!!!
I was thinking that, too. But it was really heavy (hard to ship). And it was really scratched up.
She said it had too many scratches on it. Most have ruined it's value.
I would have polished the scratches out of the bottom.
Lol it was so scratched up though
I bought chipped Steuben once, it sold anyway!!

I would love to have the lion sculpture. When will it go live?
How much did you pay for the lion sculpture?

You two are a breath of fresh air after what feels like the longest week ever!
Yes. I need to take a break from the world as well. I started watching Laura during Covid. Seems fitting that I would seek comfort from her today.
