I use to have a piece of carpet over the windshields of my excavator to protect it....learned the hard way also....a rock was thrown up from one of my back tires on the lowboy...and ya the welding is looking good...now cut 3 pieces with a four inch middle and the ends tapered down to a point....and all will be good on the blade again...
Two tires? Wow. Did part of the tire come up and hit the glass on your excavator? My husband with his lowboy has had one tire blow but not two on the same side. Hope you were not too far away from home. Scary!
Sorry fellas, but I think it's funny when you have to Doze up hills and turns to ride on. Here in Missouri, we have lots of hills and such to ride on. We even have old strip mines to roll around in (in a State Park) 🤠🤓😎.
Cale, couple more Welds and you'll nove from novice allll the way up to amateur. After 50 years of burning rod every body can have a day like that, that weld doesn't need to hold water so it looks ok.

the windshield can also be seen from a similar Hitachi model, they are the same, but it will cost at least 500 dollars

29:10 I noticed that a while back and I was thinking it looked 'off'. It kind of has a 'someone hit it and warped it' look to it in a couple of spots.
