We raised all our own animals, but didn't have enough land to grow crops. Just 5 acres. Mom canned everything. Mostly we were self Sufficient. I now have 7 acres and a very old farm house. I live in Cedar Lake, Indiana, but I am originally from Beecher, Illinois a small farm town on the Illinois/Indiana border. While I never lived on a farm, my grandparents did. I remember playing in the barn and sitting on the tractors as a kid. Great memories. I drove through that area just this morning, and I am always amazed at the work that goes into farming. Most of the soybeans are in here, and corn harvest has begun in some fields. Thanks for taking the time to explain your farming operation. I learn something from every video.

I found your channel after seeing Laura Farms. Your easy going teaching of your children and your never ending work on farm life is enjoyable to see.
🫡Thanks for your services! (I got the honor): to be the last home care taker for a WW2 Merchant Marine; 🙄🤡😅biggest smart A** I ever met - really hard to know when he was joking! = He passed at 91: after drinking too much and tripped on his cane; 🤡🤡🙄🙄💁♂ Thank God I called his ((daughter in law/Executor)): because he broke the ball off in his hip, when falling on his {un-padded carpet}; penny pitching got him; but the EMT, is the ones that gave him too much {{anti-alcohol something/died after, hip surgery - from blood toxicity}}; a DNR, likely did not help, the results; but nearly 4 wives - no children - he said he had enough. 🤡🤡🤡

Cudos for being such a great father, teacher, and boss for your kids. I wish my relationship with my father would have been a learning experience. Mostly I'm enjoying the wide variety of your farm life. It's always interesting!
Cale, I would say the 4020 should have a snap ring on the PTO stub shaft that's not in use, anyone I've been around does have one. You made that look pretty easy, more often than not that simple task is easier said than done.
Hey Cale, Steve here from Michigan, 50 some miles north of Detroit, I do not farm, but I do have family that does. They have a dairy farm that has been working for the past 85 years or so, they also have about 1200 acres of corn to feed the cows with and approximately 650 acres of hay. As family we all pitch in driving grain carts, helping bring the round bales in for first and second cutting. I am a real pain the wazoo when it comes to checking the oil on all of the farms vehicles. You probably do the same and it’s just edited out, please let know that this exercise isn’t going in executed. It is a short piece of time to ensure that your equipment won’t burn up over the day. I remember in one of your previous videos you had to replace an engine on the sprayer for 65k, was it a lack of oil issue or something else that caused the engine failure? Please show us the checking of the oil process, it will keep your farm (and family vehicles) humming along. Thanks Cale love the videos, love to see the boys helping out!
Cale this is one of the best video's you have done in a long time, for the non farm Pearson it works well, for us older farm kids who kind ove figure out what is going on, you do a great job of explaining. I now actually watch all of yours and only a few of hers/theirs, not sure why.
The most interesting thing I've seen on the topic of agriculture is how you produce seed corn, and of course it's interesting how the technology, agricultural equipment works.

You did well training Laura, but now are doing a much better job with you two oldest sons. Keep it up, ps I live in Hastings, and from what I hear, you and David visit Game stop a lot
Please edit that last part out about game stop. (Safety)
