No, it is right procedure to get it cold. Tin is a soft metal so you can make pattern easily even it is cold as you can see on video (3 min). The point is to use enough tin, if you use too low it wont be enough to make pattern and hold the tin with screwdriver to unlock the screw. Just be patient, I made this method many times and helped me a lot.
+Joseisthebest joseisthebest2 I've used how much tin showing in this video. Just filled the hole. but it was hard enought and couldn't create pattern then. Ok I'll try again with eneough tin. I've tried many methods watching from youtube. All failed. Last thing, I would try with a screw remover plier. (normal plier didn't work). But this thing isn't much available here.
You even do not need to fill the whole hole just simply the tin must be stucked there and not moving when you try to make the pattern. I will probably make a new video next week (2nd worst :D)
Thanks this helped me deal with a stripped screw on my laptop cooler. Just soldered some tin to the top of the screw then used a flat head driver to unscrew it
This is why “fuck it I am going into an electronic store”, opening my PS5 and showing them the stripped screw, see if they can get it out and add my new SSD w/heatsink right then and there. Sucks it got stripped in the first place. It would’ve been so goddamn easy to install. All these stripped “fixes” have been a nightmare.
Well since no one’s stepping up to the plate And I happen to be bilingual... In short , he’s saying fuck this fuck this fuck me , fuck this hard drive fuck you and then when he finally got it he says fuck you one more time.
I can. the breathing translates to, " that's way too much solder. oh my god that's way too much solder. look how much solder that is. wow that's way too much solder. holy shit that's too much solder."
Heh, funny thing about this video is that i'm trying to fix a HDD that i'm positive is the exact same model and brand. The only difference is that mine is a M024 and not an M025
In my case the tin stuck nicely but get cold too early and don't even get a time to create pressure to make pattern :(

"Darth Vader's failed soldering tactic"
Darth Vader wouldn't even use a screw driver, so he never has this problem.

Mine is on so tight that the solder will probably just break. Worth a try though. If it just break well it's time to bring out the welder 😂
Thank you sir...You save my laptop.. U are a real engineer🥰🥰
wtf are u doing
More like, best video ever. I guess it's conceptual video art or something. The heavy breathing, my God.
He destroyed a HDD
What type of screw driver did you use. I can't open it with my own screw driver. Thanks
Triwing
how about psp screws? the t2 torx screw bits that i need dont work on it, but i hope this method will work
I think it's important to use tin here rather than a softer solder. The metal needs to be hard enough not to strip again.
It worked for me thanks!
Thank u for the idea!!!
It's like a dentist treatment on tooth decay
Please help I have striped screw inside Seagate hardisk , the final middle screw just above platter.
LoL same here. I'm trying to open my xbox hard disk it's a seagate mobile hard disk and these assholes have a middle screw which doesn't open
Same here....

*But you are using a torx....isn't that a torx screwdriver*
All you needed was some flux dude then your solder would stick
solder doesn't stick to everything, so it might not have made a difference
What happens if I failed doing this.
Nothing.
Thank you
Tin as in tin foil? The stuff you try to mold?
It is just a tin - www.directindustry.com/prod/guilbert-express/product-62666-1475473.html
It sounds like someone's using life support
Hahaha
Michael Myers is that you?
It was as if you were breathing to my ear.
