This might be a dumb question but here goes: what is the difference between a ledger board and a fascia board? I have a pre fab Pergola that says it has to attach to the ledger board and im being told i have a 2x6 fascia.. are they both the same?
See bro. Simple quick straight to the point. Not like these other videos giving you a whole spill and a half. Well done. And thanks for your service 🫡.
Perfect explanation! Efficient, simple, thorough, and complete Recently had my gutters cleaned on a 3-level house with a steep roof pitch. The gutter cleaning company guy, on the back side of my house, used his foot in the gutter to push from for stability. The fascia is bent backwards away from the gutters in two places on the back of the house causing rain to pour down through those gaps....didn't know until the rained. Needed to know the name of the part (Fascia) when I call to issue a complaint to the gutter company. Again, Thanks!
that was clear and concise. Thank you! I just noticed an area of mine that needs replacing, about 8ft. What is it made of, is it wood, hardiplank, aluminum? And do I need a roofer or can a handyman replace? Thank you.
Thank you for that information. If you're able to answer, I have a question. My gutters are attached to the fascia, and the soffits need to be replaced (it's a hip roof) because the soffits are, I'm guessing 1/4 plywood with vents every so many feet, but some previous owner decided to paint the plywood soffits with gray paint and on top of that also painted the "6x12" inch vent panels. Evidently they didn't know what they were doing. But my question: Can the soffits, fascia, and gutters be replaced without installing new shingles. The roof is about 10 years old so I don't need new shingles. Thank you very much. By the way, the painted soffits look pretty bad because the paint is very badly peeled and the paint peeling is thick. It's not a light peel. So I don't know what paint they used. I was thinking of scraping and repainting correctly, but it's too much work for an old man (73). : )
I ran across a plan using a "cornice", no mention of the usual fascia details (material, size) that I would normally use to determine what size of subfascia to use. (eg, 8" aluminum fascia gets 2x8 wood subfascia, where 8" smartboard gets size under, 2x6) So whats the diff? I've never seen a cornice on a plan before, does it still require subfascia?

Great job. Very brief and concise. Thanks for your fine service and for this video. Very cute photo of daughter in the video. Nice editing.
Thanks for clarifying roof, soffit, eaves, and fascia
You're very welcome!
Thank you for the video! The more confusing term differences to me are eaves vs. soffits. You mentioned eave also.
Thanks for a clear and concise explanation .

Again, Thanks!
I'm embarrassed to say how many times I have googled this.
It's ok, that's what we are here for!
Thank you sir
Thank you so much for this great video. The guys at the big box store had never heard of "soffit", and mistook fascia for siding. :(
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video. Makes more sense now!
So the eaves are the whole overhanging, the facia the "face" of it, and the soffit the underside?

So simple and helpful! Thank you!
Thank you.
Thank you! Going to subscribe to learn how to fix mine!
But what's the purpose of them
Why do we still need ventilation in the soffit when we have central air? Isnt this ventilation will contradict with AC?

Sorry for getting to you so late, but yes, all should be able to be replaced without replacing your foot! And you're not old, just very experienced!
@@DigitalRoofingInnovations Not a problem. I understand you're busy. Thank you for replying and the compliment.
@@whasumara73 How did it turn out?
That's what I am talking about. Great information and straight to the point.
2 mins or less!
When I have winds it sounds like a freight train is on the roof. The builder said it’s the soffits and it’s normal.
Can that be true?
Hello. Is fascia part of the roof? Can it be supplemented to insurance under roof or gutters? Thanks

Softit come in different materials, because squirrels or other critters keep getting my attic? What's the best to combat that. I've seen the entry.🤨
A small part of my fascia board is rotted - do I need to replace the entire board?
Why do I need a soffit for my roofing needs I’m building a shed and I’m trying to figure out what materials I should do this soffit with

When the sofit is finished how does it look on the inside
I am sorry, I really don't understand your question.
Why is water coming through the soffit when it rains
So it's the facia that faces you. Got it. Good beard.
That's how I always remembered it.
