I also have the Canon R6 Mark II and 85mm f/2.0. I like the combination and also the ability on close focusing distance of the lens. U also have the 70-200 f/2.8 EF lens and use it a lot more though.
I use my original R6 (still love that camera), with RF and adapted EF lenses, with off camera flash, for any paid, professional, or “important” shoots. When I want to have fun, or just document, I’ll use my Fujis or even M43 gear because it’s just that much smaller, and easier to carry around. Haven’t found a “one-and-done” setup that can bridge that gap. But, I think that’s okay.
I’ve been watching several of your videos during the past couple days, and many of your observations and frustrations I share. While I agree there’s no such thing as a perfect camera, it’s unfortunate at this stage Canon hasn’t made a compact version of that R6 ii or that Fuji can’t figure out how to solve their focusing issues on the XT5, etc. By the way, do you still have your MP? I recently picked up a Q3 which I’m enjoying (while my companion camera is a iPhone 15 Pro, I’m thinking about picking up the MP).
I stopped gassing for cameras but switched over to lights, now I have a whole OCF setup complete with backdrop. Also there is no time for worrying about AF when shooting paid stuff, there is so much other stuff to worry about, the last thing I want to worry with if AF...Canon/Richoh?
R6II is a beast. Hate the plastic primes. The R6II, new 35/1.4, 24-70, 70-200 would be a heck of a kit if you don’t mind the size and price. Unfortunately I very much mind the size. If you do enough paid jobs to cover the cost I would absolutely keep the R6 and then keep the Fuji for fun/family/travel.
If you're only shooting professionally very occasionally then I don't think it's worth having a separate kit just living in the background for those few times. Maybe just have the fuji 56 1.2 in the background for those and make it work? OR Nikon ZF for both fun and pro. 85 1.8 in the background for shoots, and the compact lenses + leica M glass for fun
Camera's dont make you a better photographer so it just comes down to what works for you and what you enjoy taking with you. You shoot great mate so try to make the Fuji what it needs to be for you. AF might be one you can't work around.
@@ericrjennings The Zf is even heavier than the R6 Mark II. But it looks great, and forunately the lens selection is pretty good in terms of performance/weight. The 50mm F1.8 S, for example, is way sharper than Canon''s RF 50mm F1.8 and weigh at just 14.7oz/412g.
Really don’t understand why you dumped the A7cii. AF, light weight. And oh so many lenses to chose from. Fun factor… ok. I give it to you it’s not the funnest… for me this body along with leica’s has been great to balance needs…
Bro the xt5 and the 1.4 primes are not THAT much smaller 😂😂😂. Photographers are so self conscious. Trust me…. Everyone around you either sees a) a CAMERA or b) a CELL PHONE……. Nobody knows “oh well that is an aps-c body so I’m Not weird about him pointing it at me blah blah blah…. Fuji is not that small…. It is slightly smaller….but it is not a micromachine But when you get home…. It sure is nice choosing photos based on the perfect expression, the perfect light, the perfect scene, etc…. Rather than having you select amongst the few that actually are in focus. (Fuji….and you know it is true otherwise why are you stressing in these videos??) Fuji has an interesting appearance but complicates things. Fuji is for people that like looking at their cameras. Canon/sony/nikon are for those that like looking at their photographs. I don’t mind a plastic blob that gets the job done! 👍👍
@@ericrjennings rf 28 2.8 for a pancake albeit wider look… Also the 50 1.8 is rather tiny on the r6…. Rf16mm 2.8 tiny. All three for the price of the xf18 1.4! Same as the tiny primes for Sony.. The 40mm for zf… Sure they mostly have plastic shells but does a metal shell on a lens mean the images will amaze you? Even the out of focus ones? Folks that hate on these $150-300 lenses usually can only tell the images if they know the images were taken with them. Blind test.. nobody knows. And likely 100% of the people don’t care. The subject of the image is what we care about. Secondly, folks will spend $1000 on a prime lens then add imperfections of some kind in post 😂😂😂 A metal jacket on a Fuji lens that has a IS mechanism clanking around when the camera is off? For $1000? For 1/2 stop more light than a 1.8… which is only necessary in certain scenarios?? What apsc gets at f1.4 full frame gets at f2 for 1/3 the cost. There are only good and better cameras, but there are ugly ones.....and the R6 is ugly and feels like a toy. P.S.: The R6 is a very good camera, but I would never buy it.
Agree 100% with one body, fast prime, and a flash is the best way to start out.
That was awesome. Your son was so excited.
I remember the first bass I ever caught with my dad. I was about that age..I'm now 50...awesome to catch that on camera

Try flash with the leica q2m you got (or if you have an x100 series). Outdoors, flash and leaf shutter is great.

How about pairing a r7 with the sigma 18-52 and your FF lenses on it

But the size? Zf is a big boy too
