I loved your story. My wife and I have been together for 28 years. We lived in a 32foot RV for about 7 years. We had to move in a regular trailer around 2.5 years ago because of Janet’s health. We both miss the RV so much. Enjoy your life together finding new things, places and friends. Wishing you both the best of luck.
Everything you would ever need or want is in there. We've traveled in our for five years now and haven't regretted it for a minute. Air conditioned, heat, stove, refrigerator, shower and toilet, king size bed and cabinets - even an entertainment center. We love it! As seniors, we spend our time in national and state parks for maybe $20 a night.
I own a teardrop. I love mine. Go girls!! Enjoy your life. Get some solar panels and you can actually off grid camp and save some money on camp ground fees.
Thousand trails season pass or membership is best when full time and wanting full hook ups, or get some solar and off grid on blm etc, state parks too, monthly costs would drop to under 200 easily and save that money:)
who would dislike this video? This is the mine and my husbands dream! We both work remotely so that wouldn't be a problem. Also with our work we can work on our phones hotspot so no internet required from any other sources. Now .... to get the kiddos out of college and on their own! Congrats to both of you! What an awesome life :) PS.. you too are super cute together!
Nice to see a REAL video of REAL people, who are living tiny! I am so wanting a camper to go places, ok let me get real here, GLAMPING! My husband would like one that drives, full contained but the cost on those, unless used maybe, is unreasonable. We never go camping/glamping but the small rv camper has been something we are looking at. Unless your’e retired and maybe with enough money, working still is sorta inevitable. My husband is a consultant and I am a Licensed Medical Massage practitioner. Easy for him to do remote work, a slight bit more challenging for myself! Just wanted to thank you for this insight you gave into “Tiny Living”.
I really like the layout of that teardrop. I've never considered a teardrop before because I have to have a bathroom with a shower. Looks like you ladies are happy which means you're doing this lifestyle right, you'll get better at saving money on expenses as time goes on.
wtf is that supposed to mean? ...if you guys are so insecure and/or afraid of how some people live their lives you should stay in the backwoods of Tennessee with your banjo pickin' cousin's...
Brian Bagby That is a really ignorant comment you made. Most assholes, such as yourself usually come from California or New York. See what I'm saying? Catch my drift?

One of the biggest regrets of dying people is that they didn't experience more in their lives and wished they explored more when they were younger.
It's not about having nothing, it's about getting out of the illusion that things make you happy. It's like escaping the trap of consumerism that enslaves people into work/buying/debt lifestyle that traditional society dictates how you should live. Which leads us into differing political ideologies......so maybe it's not for some people. When you say homeless, are you using contempt ? Different kinds of homeless today. Homeless vs home less often, two different concepts actually.

Excellent discussion about costs. I actually bought 6 pieces of land cheaply in different locations around the country and mostly travel and park at those locations for extended periods, otherwise I do the camp grounds and state parks.

350 dollar a month for internet is really awkward as well. I pay (in the Netherlands) 35 euro a month for 12 Mbit down, 3 Mbit upstream (solid continuous speed). Pay 20 dollar for limitless highspeed internet, phone, sms on my mobile phone (including two full months in other European countries). And for the camping fee, 900 dollar seems rather luxurious. Love the camper, I"ve shown these video's to my husband, something to think about. The freedom, simplicity, and it has all the comforts of home, just in a smaller space.
Thank you for sharing, and you tips! My husband and I are starting the same thing in 1 more year, when our youngest child goes off to college. We are going to live minimal while we pay for college. We have been planning and saving for this for 26 years now. 😊
Great camper. $900 camp ground fees, $300 Internet. GOOD THING YOU GALS ARE FROM SAN FRANCISCO. Anyother place and it would NOT seem like a "saver." Enjoy yourselves.
@Eddy Jin Who is lying? It is true modern society influences us to stay in debt. I just got a credit card purely to improve my score. Capital One. The welcome letter excitedly informed me to start an online account so that I can "start spending immediately". I will not be doing so. The entire collective consciousness for modern living involves debt. You have to make a specific conscious decision to avoid it. If you just go with the flow, the flow is debt. This is why credit education has had to crop up to help counteract too many of us unwashed masses from going bankrupt, a necessary problem in such a society, but TOO many of us in bankruptcy is bad. You have to make a specific decision to avoid debt in order to participate in modern society.
why would anyone thumbs down to this? They did such a lovely job describing everything about the trailer and they are soooooo happy! I have lived in Los Angeles my whole life and have been looking for an apartment I can afford and guess what in two years I haven't found anything or otherwise I would give a whole paycheck to just have space. That is not living. Paying up to $900 sometimes to have the freedom of traveling whenever you want? sign me up :) Love this, be safe and well girls!
Trini Gyal You can't get an apartment in California for $900/month, at least not in the Bay Area, they would have to move to a non desirable location in California
I learned from my personal experience that's not really true. I had a one bedroom place just one block from the beach in Long Beach for 825. And my gas and electric bills were never over $35 dollars. New upgrades on everything. I looked in the area for about 2 weeks. Places close to there are more expensive and also more cheap. I took what I found at the time and later discovered there was more. Some where crappy and more cheap. Some where crappy and more expensive. Some where better and more cheap. Some where better and more expensive. At the end of the day it taught me the best way to look for a great place that you want is using every tool consistently every single day. Either way I would do just fine in a tiny house or a regular house because I know how to look and shop. So think about it next time you may look for a place. Oh and this crazy old man laughed at me when I told him my price range and he told me I would never fond anything in that area cheaper or better. That place had no upgrades right on the beach and I would be embarrassed to have guest there. My place was just a few hundred feet away and much much nicer. Also I could just cross the street to walk on the sand. So check better next time you look. There's nice places and affordable everywhere. Just don't listen to people. Use all the tools. Penny saver, leasing offices, and their list, and their website, online, your feet, and driving. I learned that most nice places that are affordable don't publish everywhere. The way they do it is almost as if they get the right person in that they want to rent to. Without having to tell a bunch of people we don't want you to live here. While I lived there I even heard of nicer communities like Naples near by that had cheaper places too.
Furby Gender you are not considering their other expenses like insurance fuel repairs maintenance 350 just for the internet and many other cost water propane dumping fees and much more.
They are spending more per month than I spend on a 3 bedroom flat. Something is wrong with this. Living in hostels or AirBnB would be cheaper, than what they spend on camping fees.
I kind of get it that they used to live in a very expensive city. They could just have moved to a cheaper and smaller city, and then make road trips. They will get to this conclusion one day, but for now they seem to experiment and to enjoy their trips.
epSos.de- I Totally agree. I don't understand where they are getting all this money from? They aren't selling things on ebay. I mean there are a lot of employers that are utilizing people at the house and allowing them to work remotely. Even so, I imagine they have to be working round the clock to earn that kind of money. I own a house and am spending way less than them. I also make fairly decent money and I'm unsure I could or would want to afford $1250/mth on fees for internet and campground fees. I mean it kind of defeats saving money. And they aren't even getting equity. It'd be one thing if they were spending less than $500/mthly for ALL their needs then it would be the life. I just learned I never want to do this, LOL!
This is a great tour of the TAB trailer! I think it’s because you two are actually living in it, as opposed to having an RV salesman show it to us. Thanks for this, and I think you look like great neighbors to have at a park!
I live in San Jose, so silicone valley, our rent is low because of how long we've been here but the neighbours pay $3600 for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom rancher. I lived in Fresno for $900 a month for a huge lot and a 2 bed place years ago... California is very expensive (not a fan of CA 😩) and a very irritating place to live. Counting down the days to when leaving becomes a real option ⏳
I am shocked by how many people make van life about money. All I read is "900 dollars on campsites? 300 dollars on internet? I spend less living in my apartment, bla bla bla". Some people here are really missing the point. It's not about money and THINGS , it's exactly about the opposite.
Wow thank you ladies. I am going to retire first quarter of next year. I've been thinking about doing this. I also will be going over to Vietnam a country that I love to spend time on the beaches but not with the teardrop camper lol. I want the teardrop to be here when I come back. This is great encouragement
Well done video, thank you for sharing. I am only 5'7" so I would not have the problem that "poor Jessie" has. It's nice to see people enjoying life together. I wish you both all the best.
Why? Full size showers with endless hot water that don't require propane. Also there is the issue of grey water. It's illegal to dump your grey water in most places. Campgrounds are also better for security.
They are spending an average of $900.00 / month on camp ground fees, that is why! Grey and black water? There are plenty of inexpensive dump stations all over the US! Security? Yes camp grounds are more secure, but not worth $900.00 / month in my opinion!
Yah mon! This is the way to reduce stress as well as contribute less to consumerism. I lived on boats and in campers for all of the 90s, and I’m about to embark on the gypsy life once again and I’m STOKED!
Stephanie Young Verizon is expensive period! I changed my wireless and tv triple play service by 1/2 the price! They need to shop around for a better carrier!
Agreed! Unfortunately though Verizon is the only company that reaches certain remote parts of the us (I'm not personally familiar with where these ladies are, but my parents have lived in the appalarian mountains for about 15 years and pretty much any other phone or internet hookup just doesn't work properly)
We've ran across this video and see it as a mirror image of us ! Jessi and I laughed to hard! The only difference is yall are taller and we bought a scamp! We love that yall did this hope for more updated videos !
Im 6'8 but ive been whatching so many tiny house lifestyle, van life, rv and ive even came across this video many times. I want to live a simple, stress free, dept free, creative adventurous lifestyle. But i just recently bought a house for my mom and i and were struggling. And i font have the heart to go my own way right now. We moved in about 5 mouths ago. Its a beautful place but im tierd of settling it gets boring after awhile. And i cant belive how expensive living is. Im 21 and i have alot to learn
Awesome ladies enjoy life , why don’t you guys get a cell phone plan unlimited and connect your laptop through your phone it would cost you less than half of what you are spending now on WiFi. Keep exploring and be safe. God bless. 😘
Nothings unlimited there or so what I’ve been taught it always gets slower and slower the more u use a month of ur data there hooking it up like that. I could be wrong ur probably smarter then me .
I used to have TMobile data for which you can have "unlimited" connection ince your paid speed runs out. But it was slow as heck. But I really liked that plan but I cut it off last year. I just went back to see if I could buy in again, but they ended it. Only grandfathered accounts can have it. 😭
We just purchased this trailer used as a part of our retirement plans, same year I think (2017?). We got the model with the outdoor kitchen. We were sold on the size/storage. Glad to hear how much you are enjoying it. We are not prepared (yet?) to give up our house of 30 years and accumulated “stuff”. My thought, replace our battery with a longer life high performance lithium battery and add 150w of portable solar panels. We want to do a low cost National Park tour. My research says we can get internet via my Verizon phone plan; I know the hot spot works but haven’t tried to stream a movie.
Well done ladies. I am surprised by the negative and critical comments. Perhaps from people boxed in by debt and feeling a little bit envious of your freedom to explore, dance in the outback and live!
Wow wow wow I love it. This is really tiny. I didn't expect it to have a bathroom and toilet. It looks really small on the outside. Lol. So cute. Now I realize that a truck is better than a van (somehow). Coz you can utilize the back of your truck.
HOTSAUCE the area they live by is expensive payments are over 2500 for a small apartment. I’ve known people in the San Francisco area that pay mortgages of up to 3200.
Brilliant, that’s something I would love, it’s compact and easy to tow so good for fuel on towing a smaller camper van, great sized bed for sleep is a must and a king size bed I’m well impressed, a house where you having changing views, perfect, somewhere to sit and sleep, wash and cook, it’s all you want, love it 😬👍
I'd love a follow up. Are they still living full time in their teardrop? Beautiful home and so nice to be so free and paired down. I'd love to see the addition of an outdoor screen dining/lounging tent and leave the bed made up when the weather is nice enough.
Great message! I have been looking at downsizing from a 1,012 Sq ft house, to a tiny house. I hadn't considered a teardrop until now. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Safe travels :)
Woooowwww can't believe you have all that in a teardrop!!! My goodness... Have you got the mesures of your bathroom!! Im a just amazed : a teardrop + a couple + 2 dogs all travelling!! And seeming having enough space... wooooww!!!
I was born and raised in SF, too, so I can really understand the costs of living and 2 hour commutes one way and then 2 hour commutes (all because of traffic) back home. now that i live like 35 minutes southeast of SF, the prices have been and are rising in Hayward, also! Just renewed my lease and it's $2,600 a month. And I already know a lot of 1 bedrooms in SF area are already at $3,500/month. So, I'm glad I saw this video because been thinking about having a home base at my mom's and then looking into the right types of campers that would fit my small family. Right now have an infant with a lot of needs (baby of course), but also diapers, and medical prescribed formula and he's still getting all his immunizations as time goes on. so I'm going to look into the tear drop camper. I saw there are new types of campers but they costs more or as much as a brand new car!
Awesome !!! me and my girlfriend have been talking about getting a teardrop trailer, it'd be so awesome living in a tiny home :) By the way my name is Jesse and my girlfriend is Valarie :) Thanks for your awesome video :)
Just a thought Exploring Alternatives when ever you interview people living in something like this why not talk a little about the tow rig and how its working out for them. Just a thought and another good video :)
As long as we're making suggestions, I would LOVE to see a few cutaway photos of your subjects during their voiceovers, typically referred to as B-roll. Ideally, they would provide you with snapshots of themselves packing, buying their trailer, on the road, etc: helps to show us their personality and why they chose this lifestyle. Love your channel.
Brad Cornelius for that they would have to ask if the interview subjects have a social media account they'd like to share, then perhaps you can see those types of things.
Thank You for posting your experience. You not only confirmed my research that tiny house communities are few and far inbetween, but that a tear drop would make an adequate exploring alternative. In 2015 I went to Burning Man and reversed engineer a tracking solar panel for my suv & camp site. If you choose to go solar be sure to consider looking into a dual tracking system that integrates with your pickup and tear drop. Hugs Richness.
l have watched this twice because l love it so much. lm so glad one of you doesn't work&the other who likes their job does. l genuinely wish l had someone to travel with like y'all do. How does the A.C. work? why don't you use your shower? do you usually cook outside or in? how heavy is your trailer? What repairs have you made to it? do you have a compost toilet or anything solar? Can you pls answer more questions

It's never to late to try
why would anyone thumbs down to this? They did such a lovely job describing everything about the trailer and they are soooooo happy! I have lived in Los Angeles my whole life and have been looking for an apartment I can afford and guess what in two years I haven't found anything or otherwise I would give a whole paycheck to just have space. That is not living. Paying up to $900 sometimes to have the freedom of traveling whenever you want? sign me up :)
Love this, be safe and well girls!
$900 camp fees no wayy not saving money at all might as well get an apartment ladies
Angel Nightmare Wife You can’t travel with your apartment though
Angel Nightmare Wife you can't get an apartment in northern California for $900/month.
The way they look at eachother makes me happy.
As long as you are happy. That is what is important.
I think it is amazing that you are doing what makes you both happy. You have a lovely home. Enjoy
They are spending more per month than I spend on a 3 bedroom flat.
Something is wrong with this. Living in hostels or AirBnB would be cheaper, than what they spend on camping fees.
epSos.de It's prolly way cheaper than where they were living. Plus they're traveling all over the county, whereas your "flat" is stationary.
I just learned I never want to do this, LOL!
epSos.de it's not always about saving the most money. they like this. it's condescending to say "they'll figure it out "
epSos.de I know and at least u can have people over with out smelling beer farts
This is a great tour of the TAB trailer! I think it’s because you two are actually living in it, as opposed to having an RV salesman show it to us. Thanks for this, and I think you look like great neighbors to have at a park!
Nice to know that for what they pay in Calif for a teardrop I pay for a 3 bd house in the Midwest.
Mara's Musings only difference is that no one wants to live in the midwest.
Karla Mal lol savage but true
I'm in cali with 5 bedroom- two masters for only 1.2k
Ann Cee what part of California? I live in Orange County and most of the houses here are really expensive!
Thanks for being honest on the monthly cost & expenses.
These ladies are living a great life together. They are the perfect example of you can be happy with just the things you need.
I am shocked by how many people make van life about money. All I read is "900 dollars on campsites? 300 dollars on internet? I spend less living in my apartment, bla bla bla". Some people here are really missing the point. It's not about money and THINGS , it's exactly about the opposite.
They are adorable.
Wow thank you ladies. I am going to retire first quarter of next year. I've been thinking about doing this. I also will be going over to Vietnam a country that I love to spend time on the beaches but not with the teardrop camper lol. I want the teardrop to be here when I come back. This is great encouragement
Love love love this! We built our own tiny house and are taking it up the 2,189 mile Appalachian Trail on our thru-hike next year! Life is good! 🙂
reading through the comments and saw this (yes, after 2 years 😂). How's your tiny house now? Do you still live in it?
We're glad you're having so much fun in your TAB! Keep up those adventures!
nuCamp, if one of these goes on sale, will you please let me know? Thank you!!
What year was this one
Well done video, thank you for sharing. I am only 5'7" so I would not have the problem that "poor Jessie" has. It's nice to see people enjoying life together. I wish you both all the best.
Why stay in a camp ground? There are plenty of places you can stay at for free!
They need to learn from Bob Wells at CheapRVliving.
Like where?
Where can you park a camper conveniently while traveling across the country?
I am so in love with your itty-bitty house!
Yah mon! This is the way to reduce stress as well as contribute less to consumerism. I lived on boats and in campers for all of the 90s, and I’m about to embark on the gypsy life once again and I’m STOKED!
Omg...that Verizon bill is outrageous! I would shop around. Just my 2 cents...
Stephanie Young Verizon is expensive period! I changed my wireless and tv triple play service by 1/2 the price! They need to shop around for a better carrier!
Agreed! Unfortunately though Verizon is the only company that reaches certain remote parts of the us (I'm not personally familiar with where these ladies are, but my parents have lived in the appalarian mountains for about 15 years and pretty much any other phone or internet hookup just doesn't work properly)
they could just drop down on their downloads, if you use that much on it, you have a LOT of traffic
Lezbionest here.... They are so cutee together! 😁😉
I absolutely would love to have that camper! I could easily live in that full time! Enjoy your lives ladies. I'm happy for you❣
Still not cheap
No. Debt.
As nice as it sounds i checked on a new teardrop $50000.00 plus I can't see it...plus campground fees are crazy high...
Cute teardrop! I cant stand in mine and I think that makes a huge difference. I look forward to following their adventures.
Thanks for checking out the video CoolCat :) Yeah we can't stand in our van either and sometimes that gets pretty weird : |
Can I pleasae ask how much and what make and model is this tear drop please?
that's exactly what I want I want to know. Whats the make and model
We owned a Tab clamshell previously. Very well constructed camper! Happy travels :)
They still spend like 1k a month lol whats the point
michael meza Ya, and to mention they have to pay for Gas too. I think they can save up more money by living in a apartment p
What a rip off
Maybe its not about saving money? But more about travelling and seeing the world?
I think she said they wanted to travel that's why they do
michael meza the experience man
You two look very happy! Best of luck! Looks like you have it down and enjoy life.
We've ran across this video and see it as a mirror image of us ! Jessi and I laughed to hard! The only difference is yall are taller and we bought a scamp! We love that yall did this hope for more updated videos !
Such a sweet couple . love the teardrop
Charming, lovely, wonderful. Love to you both from San Diego, CA.
When she said we are both 5’10 I was like 😳 “excuse me but, what??”
Nice tear drop like those. Yeah it's got what you need. Myself have class b motorhome. Simplified living .
lovely youtube presentation ladies. thank you for the presentation.
Well done ladies. I am surprised by the negative and critical comments. Perhaps from people boxed in by debt and feeling a little bit envious of your freedom to explore, dance in the outback and live!
where did you get your trailer?? did you modify it?? awesome ladies, keep on living tiny:-)
that was a wonderful video. really enjoyed the girls video.
Wow wow wow I love it. This is really tiny. I didn't expect it to have a bathroom and toilet. It looks really small on the outside. Lol. So cute. Now I realize that a truck is better than a van (somehow). Coz you can utilize the back of your truck.
How does it cost $900 for campground fees? Jesus. My mortgage on a $160000 Is $900.
HOTSAUCE the area they live by is expensive payments are over 2500 for a small apartment. I’ve known people in the San Francisco area that pay mortgages of up to 3200.
people forget that includes light and water.
Larry White it's 300 a month where I live includes free electric, water, laundry, sewer, others have wifi too
That’s actually good for Bay Area. We pay $2,300 a month for 1 bed 1 bath apartment. And that’s considered cheap..
HOTSAUCE A $900 mthly must be a verbal typo? LOL
Awesome and inspirational! Also, we can all appreciate the humor in: "The other challenges we face would have to be male*" (mail*)
Yes!
Brilliant, that’s something I would love, it’s compact and easy to tow so good for fuel on towing a smaller camper
van, great sized bed for sleep is a must and a king size bed I’m well impressed, a house where you having changing views, perfect, somewhere to sit and sleep, wash and cook, it’s all you want, love it 😬👍
What a well designed trailer - I want one
You'll never regret! After five years of camping, we love it!
Not our full time home - yet!
The mail situation always freaked me out thank u for mentioning it. This really is like perfect
I'd love a follow up. Are they still living full time in their teardrop? Beautiful home and so nice to be so free and paired down. I'd love to see the addition of an outdoor screen dining/lounging tent and leave the bed made up when the weather is nice enough.
Great video guys!
Great message! I have been looking at downsizing from a 1,012 Sq ft house, to a tiny house. I hadn't considered a teardrop until now. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Safe travels :)
And I'm not sure if you mentioned the make and model of your teardrop, so could you please share that info? :-D
Woooowwww can't believe you have all that in a teardrop!!! My goodness... Have you got the mesures of your bathroom!! Im a just amazed : a teardrop + a couple + 2 dogs all travelling!! And seeming having enough space... wooooww!!!
Love this. Great video.
You two are inspiring. I am amazed at the room...Stay strong!
I absolutely love your story, you two seem so happy and that’s all that matters.
Nicely done and inspiring. They do have their act together ; - )
Surprise to see so many negative comments. Good luck to both of them
I was expecting this doesn't have a bathroom. Wow, it has everything in it! Awesome.
Fantastic ! What a super life .
Great video and loved the end!
2 questions: what is the price on this thing especially on the used market? and How do you do your laundry?
Most state park camp grounds have a small laundry mat! Very helpful
Those tabs are great rigs, camper shell on your truck helps with space. Great video!!!
Wow I want this exact one because it has an indoors kichen!
cute pups!
Nice cushions too😉👌
Wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing…inspiring & informative!!!!! ⭐️
A wee bit too small for my liking, but a great vid giving insight to this life style.
Cheers, Patrick
Just a thought Exploring Alternatives when ever you interview people living in something like this why not talk a little about the tow rig and how its working out for them. Just a thought and another good video :)
That's a great tip :) We'll keep that in mind for the next videos. Thanks for watching!
The tow vehicle looks like a Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinders; rated 3500lbs.
Brad Cornelius for that they would have to ask if the interview subjects have a social media account they'd like to share, then perhaps you can see those types of things.
My Damn Channel
Love lives in this Teardrop (Happy tear of course, obviously!)
I"m amazed by how large the camper is inside, that is to say, how it has a kitchen, a bathroom, a bed, etc...You wouldn't know that from looking at it from the outside.
It's really impresive they has courageous to choice.Life is no limits,no constant, no perfect but truth.Tight get high keep going forward.
