Very important topic. I’ll share with you a Latin quote you should enjoy. Memento Mori “Remember you must die”. Not a bad tattoo idea I must say, that way you won’t forget ;) You know I respond a bit different to this than others. I actually pull away from people I love more. The reason is because my life isn’t where I want it to be and I want to ensure my time is going towards that. It’s definitely not advice because it all depends on the person. There are some people who value social connection more then physical manifestations, and so it won’t apply for them. I was speaking with a friend and they said “well what if your family die soon” to which I replied “let them, because I won’t keep my life on hold for that what if”. My relationships are good with my family. I just prioritise my life and what I will do with this one life a lot more then others, and in my opinion more proportionately relative to how much one should love and invest time into others. I’m not sure where the line is, I guess I will figure this out with more time. But for many people there isn’t a line at all, and with many cultures the idea of individualism hasn’t arrived. Ultimately I belive in balance and not extremes. But doesn’t mean the balance has to be equal. 80/20 seems about right for me. Take care brother.
It's good that you're thinking about these things at such a young age. Life is precious. If you make a conscious effort to stay in regular touch with your cousin, there is no reason why you can't be lifelong friends. Being a widow I am deeply aware of these things. Have a great day.
