I think Alma might be Regina. She fits the line "At least she has the guts to not pretend to be my friend!" Alma is pretty vocal about her disappointment in Mirabel while Isabella was more condescending.

Not gonna lie, I wish there was a scene like this in the movie, where Mirabel finally lashes out at Isabela for her entitled behavior, and Isabela finally realizing that she let her resentment and envy towards her baby sister almost destroy their relationship 🥺💔

It would've nice if at the end it was a clip of Isabela holding the vision Bruno had of her and Mirabel embracing but broken in half while a tear drop falls into Mirabel's half. Idk I really like it I thought that it would be been an interesting detail to add

Maybe it should say, “I hate Abuela’s guts. But here’s what you don’t comprehend. At least she has the guts. To not pretend to be my friend!”
I feel like this is what the scene of Isabella and mirabell was missing, Isa got to vent about being perfect and shed off the perfect girl image but mirabell never got to vent about how she was being treated by the whole family, how Isabella treats her, how she's treated by the village, like she's in the way and not good enough without a gift.
I feel like if she got to do that maybe Isabella could was it was like for her on the other side and that it wasn't so easy for her either.
Bruno just in the walls being thrown around from the bass and asking himself "when did Camillo get a pink shirt-"

Isabela: “I really was turning into her, wasn’t I? Now that’s scary…and something I’m…really sorry for.” (With a slight chuckle, she continues) “Funnily enough, I never wanted that perfect life with Mariano.”
Mirabel’s jaw hits the floor: “What?!”
Isabela shrugs: “I thought it had to be done for the family.”
The 🌵 appears.

This is how I feel everything should have went down in the movie because even though Maribel does blow up at her sister I feel like Isabella does not repent what so f****** ever the song is more about her wanting to be free and rebellious than it is about realizing how much of a shity sibling she's been to her own sister and basically using her as a punching bag because basically the family allows it do to Mirabelle being an outcast for not having a gift unlike what happened with Abuela at the River yes Abuela's actions were worse and it's what gave Isabella the impression that she could act that way towards her sister but here's the biggest difference I never thought Abuela was being malicious just letting her own trauma Cloud her judgment it's not an excuse but it's a lot more sympathetic especially when she goes to apologize and actually reconcile to try to do better not just with Maribel but everyone Isabella again even though she thought it was okay doesn't excuse anything maybe I'm just not sympathetic to The Golden Child because I get it the pressure the expectations I'm sympathetic to that but what I'm not sympathetic to is taking it out on someone else with little to no repentance like a bully
Completely agree. I've seen various explanations, people jumping through hoops and even using *deleted scenes* as canon evidence that Mirabel somehow "deserved" this treatment or it was equal. Yet, it was just wrong. And I felt like their "make-up" session was so selfish on Isabella's part. It was so centered on her feeling better even though Mirabel was the one being treated like trash. I liked how Mirabel put aside her old perceptions to really see, empathize with, and encourage Isabella, but Isabella does nothing of the sort for Mirabel. In the end she just decides, you helped me so maybe I will treat you like my sister. And like you said, I get the pressure, but I'm not sympathetic to Isabella for treating her like a punching bag without even saying sorry. She was always just mean and clearly thought she was better than her. While, Abuela never was outright malicious to her she just made her feel bad indirectly and apologized.
@@dreamyanon5151 even with the deleted scene that would have been reactionary like one Isabella doing something everyone knows they're not supposed to and possibly being in trouble if she was caught keeping it a secret but mostly I would think it is to get back at her I don't see Maribel being malicious because she enjoys it it's more than likely because of how Isabella was treating her in the first place and how the family lets her get away with it when you feel like you have no other options or choices you will fight dirty
@@lilyrose1581 Maribel is not an angel, she's imperfect, she's human. You don't have to justify her hatred on the 'survival of the fittest'. She was jealous and mad at Isabella, their relationship was tense, and yeah, it's not the best feeling to have towards your sibling but it's something that may surface when there's that one golden child in the family and your other sister looks flawless. She may have felt fustrated about it and it didn't help that Isabella was going through her situation too. Maribel may be a nice person in general but that doesn't exempt her of feeling bad feelings.
Now, about the Isabella apologizing, there's a series coming soon, look forward for it and see if it fulfills your desires. In my opinion, what the movie showed was good, yes, saying sorry would have made it perfect but it's enough with what we got. Actions speak a lot more than words, and it was nice to see them having fun together. I think saying sorry at this point would just make things awkward.
Also, don't say they let Isabella get away with it. Isabella has never been rude towars Mirabel in front of the family. It was most likely a closeted thing to happen.
@@plata4682 excuse me where did I say that Mirabel was perfect that she wasn't spiteful she's better than her sister because she's not malicious I'm not saying Isabella goes out of her way but whenever she has the chance she'll take it to basically put her sister and her place and again the biggest thing is that she really did not apologize that's what I'm upset about Maribel is very quick to forgive that's what makes her a better person.
But that whole Mirabelle being jealous let's think about that for a second and I know it goes into the movie at least three times how salty she is about Isabella and the attention she gets but I don't think it really comes from jealousy because I'm sure in many ways she's jealous of the entire family but you notice she doesn't treat them with contempt unlike how Isabella treat her really everybody treats Maribel with pity so let's make this clear this is mostly in Mirabel perspective right so all she sees is her sister being praised for being the angel of Encanto but treating her like s*** for no apparent reason as for Isabella I really doubt she wants to be mean to anyone much less her own sister and things are made much more difficult for her because she has to do the simplest things at the highest standards literally walking on eggshells while strutting on a catwalk and here comes her Oddball sister who I'm sure she's jealous up for not having the pressure put on her trying to vie for attention and because she does it in very strange ways and accident-prone she tends to get in the way and that's really because no one expect her to do anything so she's not part of the system so it makes it more difficult for Isabella to keep up the ACT do I sympathize with this yes doesn't justify her actions and behavior no.
This is classic bully mentality Again I truly believe she does not want to do it but this is her unhealthy coping mechanism similar to self harm but instead hurting others and again I don't feel sympathetic to this I get the reasoning but I don't condone it and for Mirabel the reason I think she's the better person and only having hostility with her oldest sister because of how she treats her again compared to everyone else who pretty much pities her or even sees her as a jinx of some sorts she's honestly similar to Bruno because he never wished ill will on those people even though they probably treated him a lot worse.
And again I will reiterate all of this could be forgiven had she actually apologized or even better protected her sister when Abuela was going off on her I know no one said anything at that moment because whether they admit it or not they're scared of Abuela but the girl has backbone just like her father
