I've got a 2012 Odyssey that I use for work. Fully loaded it would tuck the rear wheels at least 3 inches. I ended up having a set of custom springs made that increased it's carrying load capacity by 650lbs AND added 1.25" lift. It's a progressive spring so with 650lbs in the back it sits level like there's nothing in it at all - which is nice from an anti-theft perspective it doesn't look like it's a treasure chest full of tools. When I don't have it loaded it looks a little wonky because I haven't done anything to raise the front but brooo, if you're going to tow stuff, I can't recommend replacing the springs highly enough. 😂 The stock springs are weeeeeak. This would be cool, one thing to keep in mind not that it will be an issue is he will have to remove or fab a drive shaft tunnel where the Spare tire trunk is located, directly behind the driver and passengers seat.
Lucky dog, I would turn that thing into a mini RV to save some money on rent, I wouldn't mind living in that for 6 months at a time. (Save $2,000 a month)

Or make like a second story for your toy trailer with a pop up tent on the second floor ! That would be a dope ass trailer

You should straight pipe with 2.5 inch and a flowmaster super 10 or hp2 promise it will amazing I did to mine, also you should supercharger it with the M90 or a Whipple

15 city 21 highway is right around what my stock 06 Odyssey and stock 06 Pilot gets. You’re not taking any real hit from your tires. Nice van!

I've got a 2005. Great engine and the uni-body construction gives you a much better feel than a truck frame SUV.

The motors in them are ridiculous. They can make a ton of power with a super charger or turbo.

Make sure you keep the trans fluid flushed in it and only use the OEM Fluid.
Those Honda Transmissions are known to have issues.
You don't flush a Honda transmission it's drain and fill only,
This is a 2005 Odyssey. The transmission issues where common on the 2004 and earlier model but not on the 2005 and up.

This is true for the odyssey built between 1999-2004 but not for the 2005 and up. He won’t have issues with the transmission on this 3rd gen odyssey.

just follow the manufacturers tow rating of 3500, sometimes you can go higher if you have trailer brakes

Check out apex attack. He did a swap into a MR2 with this engine and it's a great NA motor for a track car.
