Central Asia is becoming popular now, thanks to your videos. Kazakhstan is the only country I visited in Central and I fell in love with their beautiful nature and landscapes. The country is modern but they are very proud of their ancient nomadic roots. Outside the city, you can still see many yurts and shepherds with more than 100s horses, cattles and sheeps. It was so amazing. I still want to comeback when I get holidays from my work but maybe next time will include Kyrgyzstan too.

I also got to see the Blue Mosque a few times and the old military fort where Mike Spann was killed. Beautiful country up in the mountains but that's where it was more dangerous for us. Kyrgyzstan was absolutely beautiful and I would love to visit again for more than just transferring through Manas. I was over there 2010-2011 with the U.S. Army.

I've travelled to Astana Kazakhstan in December 2017. It was so cold but I was surprised by how modern the city was. The food and culture was also great.
It’s definitely been a fascinating region for me the explore for the last 3 weeks ... great to have seen Samarkand before it gets overrun by mass tourism 😊
Drew, you missed a lot by visiting just Astana and in its worst season - winter! You should visit west and east, south Kazakhstan, which differ from each other not only through nature, climate but also people! Do not ever try food/drinks from the supermarket, thats just cant be compared to the home cooked ones! Next time try to meet locals as you do in any other country, people are known for their hospitality! I miss Kazakhstan 💗
I would love to go to Uzbekistan and visit Samarcanda. The first time I've heard of that city was in a popular Italian song by Roberto Vecchioni, "Samarcanda".
Friend of mine visits Uzbekistan time to time for business and yeah..he told me pretty much what you said on this video! One problem he had...the food is really good but quite salty in general..not sure if this is relatively true or just a personal thing.. Anyways, great video Drew!
Thanks! Now I'm going to buy a lot of land in Uzbekistan and lease it in the future! Edit: I've been to Afghanistan as an American tourist and the people, culture and everything was amazing! They're not what the media portrays them to be. I miss it, I really do. Assalamualaikum to everyone in Afghanistan and Pakistan! I miss your country!
I'm from Uzbekistan. Thank you bro that you visited to our lands. You are true about central Asia. I recommend you to visit more places in Uzbekistan. The foods are really superb
Its a blessing in disguise for the stans that they are underrated. Otherwise, it will be overrun by tourists. I wish these beautiful countries are preserved thus for the class of tourists who like to go off the beaten track. Being from India, I find the central Asian countries very appealing due to the sparse population (stark contrast to India) and pristine unexplored landscapes. Let the others keep obsessing with Dubai and Maldives. Spending few nights in a yurt tent under the stars in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan will be a perfect break from civilisation and top of my bucketlist!
Drew, come to Almaty. It’s much more fascinating than Astana))) I promise to show you around. Our family is as much travel addict as you are. 40 countries on my list so far.
I'm from Uzbekistan. Moved to Kazakhstan in the 90s with my parents. Now I live the in the US. Went back and visited my birthplace recently. Beautiful people, food, wonderful places to visit. Everything is so cheap. It sure brings back memories... Also relatively peaceful and easy to visit. I recommend visiting. In some places you're taken back almost 100 years to the past, because there are no modern amenities. Primitive things will make feel at peace and away from things, especially if you live in a modern city.
Agree with everything you said! After returning from a 5 week trip to the Stans recently, Ashgabat and Kyrgyzstan are places I cannot wait to return to. Ashgabat feels like a made up city, buying books written by the president picturing him holding dogs and writing poetry to horses - amazing! Kyrgyzstan has every possible landscape encapsulated in a tiny country. I recently made a video of that trip and cannot believe how much you can see in just a month in the Stans. The registan took my breath away, moreso than many cities in Iran, yet it was so similar (the blue tiles look identical!). Thanks for spreading the word about these destinations, I feel the more we understand different cultures and people the more likely we are to live in peace. Oh and btw, at the gates to hell I met a girl who said she was in your video on the Darvaza gas crater, and she certainly looked the same, lovely woman! In fact, all the locals we went in Turkmenistan were so kind and wanted photos with us and their children. Can't wait to return some day. I look forward to following your adventures and love the recaps!
People like Drew Binsky, Carlos Volpe, Mark Wiens, Bald & Bankrupt among others make people around the world understand each other better. We need more like you... God bless you all.

I've travelled to Astana Kazakhstan in December 2017. It was so cold but I was surprised by how modern the city was. The food and culture was also great.
Astana is not fun at all. U should visit east , south part of Kazakhstan
I have a lot of friends from central asia (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) and they're some of the coolest/nicest people I've met
Central Asia is in my bucket list. I love the history & culture.
It’s definitely been a fascinating region for me the explore for the last 3 weeks ... great to have seen Samarkand before it gets overrun by mass tourism 😊
I’ve been in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and definitely I want to comeback to this region, hopefully Turkmenistan become easy to visit next time
I'm from Tajikistan❤️ and i love Unites States❤️🎉
but it says you are Italian in your name
just visited kazakhstan and uzbekistan last december. It was beautiful !
Finally someone talks about Central Asia!
The first time I've heard of that city was in a popular Italian song by Roberto Vecchioni, "Samarcanda".
it's Samarkand, not samarcanda
Grant Reznor Samarcanda is probably what Italians called it.
I live there, and I love it. Beware the dirt roads and gravel pits, though..
Friend of mine visits Uzbekistan time to time for business and yeah..he told me pretty much what you said on this video!
One problem he had...the food is really good but quite salty in general..not sure if this is relatively true or just a personal thing..
Anyways, great video Drew!
I think you should do a 10$ series video in Macedonia. It's a great cheap location. Love your videos, cheers from Skopje.
I am from Uzbekistan, I so happy to listen such as amazing recommendations from you) Thank you a lot! Hot hugs bro!
Thats amazing to hear about my famliy rigeon (samarkand ,uzbekistan)
Thanks drew :)
i read it "most underrated religion" 🤣
I misread that too.
Me too and because of the thumbnail I thought it was Islam. As the thumbnail had a mosque
Me four i misread that
Me fifth. I thought he was talking about islam although i was wondering how it could be underrated if it has 1 billions followers
well, you wont be the first one to accept that.
Thank you for showing Central Asia to the World !!!
My Mother was born in Central Asia😊 (Astana, Kazakhstan🇰🇿)
omg i was born in Astana, Kazakhstan too!!!

I love central asia people 💞💞 omg. Buetiful people as well as their countries.
I'm from Uzbekistan. Thank you bro that you visited to our lands. You are true about central Asia. I recommend you to visit more places in Uzbekistan. The foods are really superb
I love how random your videos are!
I went to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in 2018 and can't wait to go back!
Уже был в Афганистане, Таджикистане и Узбекистане (в этом регионе). Скоро посетим оставшиеся три страны
Мне очень нравится наблюдать за вашими путешествиями. Желаю вам успехов и удачи!
I liked the look of Uzbekistan from your video. I wouldn't mind going.
Hi there, Videos about The Stans, among them Uzbekistan are on my channel, you welcome
Drew, come to Almaty. It’s much more fascinating than Astana))) I promise to show you around. Our family is as much travel addict as you are. 40 countries on my list so far.

Happy to see you in Central Asia. All people are amazing there. I’m proud that I was born in Tajikistan.
Cheers!

I lived in Bishkek and Dushanbe. I LOVE the Stans. Visit. But visit knowing it is emerging, so don't be so snooty as to ask for salted butter.
I will ask for whatever I want.
My girlfriend and I are excited to visit here in the near future. Thanks Drew!
People like Drew Binsky, Carlos Volpe, Mark Wiens, Bald & Bankrupt among others make people around the world understand each other better. We need more like you... God bless you all.
Check out Eva Zu Beck! She really gets off the beaten oath!

If you ever plan to revisit kazakhstan, you should go to Almaty, Turkistan and probably Astana during the summer(not at all cold)
