How to Find Joy: Goethe and Faust

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's famous play Faust is full of engaging ideals and interesting characters. This is despite Goethe's stance that there isn't a single central idea in Faust and that no philosophical system could really account for the complexity of people.
In the second part of the tragedy, the condition of the main character is one of distress and turmoil which is contrasted with the emotions of a simple tower warden. In this video, I explore this divide and offer some explanations, including that of stoicism and stoic philosophy, as to the emotional difference between the two. Hopefully this inquiry would lead one to find joy more easily in life.

That was great! Love the animation as well. Definitely on my must-reads now. Loved the stoic twist so on point, I've been implementing its principles and it's extremely useful. For instance, I lost my phone at the train - I panicked at first, I asked the personnel and so on, to no avail, but after a few minutes I rembered the stoics and said meh what's the use of worrying and beating myself up, and ordered a cheap phone on amazon.
