    Congrats on your wedding and the new bow. Mathews is a great company and youve got a great looking rig with some serious accessories on it. Good luck this coming season.

    I got a Diamond package setup when I started shooting about 2 years ago and it was fine for what it was. Upgraded to a Lift about a month ago and it's an awesome bow. I love it. Definitely worth the money.

    Congrats on your wedding sir.
    Allergies get us all from time to time.
    What a wonderful wedding gift. That is awesome. Good friends right there.
    Good better and best is a great way to say it, love his analogy on this description.
    Subbed you buddy and good luck with you up coming season.
    I will second the comment below this one, those horse stall mats are very good choice for a really big back drop. (in case of accidents)
    IF you unscrew the arrow from the point, (if it's possible) they make a little t handle and it will help you pull the field points. And worse case scenario, it's much cheaper to loose a field point.
    Lots of the new style releases will come loose and the screws fall out for some reason. I have a brand new Scott release and it came unscrewed on me yesterday. I have an old what most would say is an old junky release, made by a company called cobra, funny thing is, it still works and nothing has fallen out of it in over 20 years of use. Is not as smooth, as the new Scott, but with nothing missing, not being smooth in the field will work better than missing a screw and it not working at all when needed, so I second the locktite on any of the new models.
    If you wax thee string right where your release has been hanging, may help that a little bit?
    Again, congrats on your new bow and set up, I am excited for you especially new to shooing 60 plus years.
    Have a blessed week and keep us posted on your upcoming adventures with your new bow.
    Dale

      @@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors I appreciate it!
      The horse mats and the t handle sound like a great idea. I found out about the wax and have been throwing some on here and there. I’ve been trying to put out another video for yall but I didn’t like how the last two I made with the bow turned out. Trying to make these as entertaining as possible. Thanks again.

    I have the same bow case and I enjoy learning about archery because my background is also firearms. I have the LIFT 29.5 Ambush Green will all the bell and whistle. My draw weight is 80lbs with 85% let off. My draw length is 28” and have many dozen of different kind of arrows but best arrow currently is Victory RIP TKO 250 spine with 450 grains. I too, new to archery but love it ever since.

    At tractor supply they have some one inch thick rubber horse stall mats that are 4’x8’ that you can screw to your fence and use a as back stop so you don’t have to worry about your arrows going through the fence

    😂got the lift last November during deer season. Not my first bow but the best have shot. A rubber 4 by 6 mat makes good stop for when you pull on a shot comes out hard but good back drop . Dropped mine to 55 so can shoot as may time as like. 20 dollar plus arrows add up when lost because of mistakes

    Dang you even got the Mathews stabs and the UV Slider! This is the nicest first bow in history! Good idea starting at 60 and working up. Most guys go straight to 70 to get max speed and end up drawing with bad form across their chest.
    Edit: You could do a form check video. It would be good for you and a fun easy way to get lots of comments.

    I’ve wanted a good Bow since I was 8 , I’m 34 now and After struggling with opiate dependency for 11years , I finally got clean few years ago n in needing something for me to do outside of work to help keep me inline so to speak I thought I was going to go get a decent bow and start shooting and hunting again. But when the guy told me how much a decent bow setup costs now to shoot the distance I wanted too ,,I realized even with me working full time 50hr a week ,single ,no kids .. I’ll never be able to afford a bow like that .. what they cost is insane. It’s as much as a used car or truck.. and i think it’s a shame that so many people like myself can’t afford something as simple as archery today .

      @@PatriotPopp19 hey brother, never say never. I’m sure you said the same about getting clean and said it wouldn’t happen. But you did it! Congrats to that, that’s huge. Im obviously lucky to be in the position I am, but with other purchases I’ve worked for they seemed so out of reach and never tried, until I set my mind to it. For instance, my Datsun that I’m building for a drift truck. I always thought drifting was for the rich and I’d only be able to play sims. Now I’m on my way to building my dream truck. Slowly but surely I’m making it happen.
      You’ll make it happen if you want it enough. Congrats again.

      Yeah what other guy said man! Just get a cheap used bow for now and get into the game... get shooting. Look for those dudes that bought one and it's sat in a closet for a couple years. And during that time set a little bit out of each check for it. You don't need a flagship bow to get in the game my guy.

      @Wi_Yeti_Official Thanks man... i know it all takes patience and hard work to get anything in life.. I was just wanting too much too fast... I started hunting with my uncle when I was 8 . Got my first deer when I was 9 n that was all I ever cared about until I turned 18 and started partying too much. But then after everything and tryin to come back into something like hunting after 13 years and seeing what it's turned into and how over priced everything is now. I was just in shock to say the least . It is what it is at the end of the day.. I just wish all the Positive Hobbies and what not didn't have to be so out of reach for most people.. it's just another reason n goes to show why it's important to make sure stay on track and you're able to have a Great Paying Job

    • @Wi_Yeti_Official
      @Wi_Yeti_Official  6 місяців тому

      I’ve been loving it. Sucks that everything is so expensive but it’s also “cheap” at the same time compared to other hobbies. I plan to hunt fall turkey, snipe some geese/ ducks, and go for a deer of course. I bought a climber earlier this year and plan to put it to use.
      What about you?

    Just keep shooting...it's easy to get fustrated. Measure your target and put a piece of tape from top to bottom, straight down the middle. Then do the same with a piece of tape, from left to right. You can even divide the across into thirds, which will create 3 levels. Aim at where the vertical and horizontal tapes cross. Even if you're not hitting dead center, you want to get to where your arrows are hitting in line vertically and horizontally. It's exciting to shoot from long distances, but just work on that from 20 yards for a while. if you can keep your up/down/left/right in line, it'll get easier to hit the center. You'll know because you will start breaking nocks. Ease your way out to 25, 30, 40..etc.....I saw someone mention those rubber pads from Tractor Supply. I will say they do work, get some. The last thing you want is that arrow going through that fence and a person or pet if over there. Or, shoot down into the corner of your property. Keep letting them fly, You were doing pretty good for a fist timer.
    P.S. When shooting at those tapes if you are consitently hitting to the left and/or right of the vertical tape, or, even low of the horizontal tape, don't immediately adjust your sight. Do everything you possible can to check your grip/form. Have someone record you shooting, and check that first. If the shop set your sight up for 20, then 9 times out of 10, it's you that is off.

      @WoodsandWater72 3 місяці тому

      I agree with this fella. He pretty much summed it up for a beginner. Just make sure you keep your form in check it's very important. Grip is a key ingredient to shooting small groups especially at longer distances. Good luck and don't lose your patience!!!

      @TheDemoncaller 5 місяців тому

      @@Wi_Yeti_Official the honeycomb one is the outdated version. not sure if you watched the chris bee vid where he shows what changed between versions, but looks to be improved everywhere. definitely helps minimize torqueing the bow. the stock one is too rounded and is easy to torque. factory one does feel nice though, but personally was less consistent with it

    having a pelican case for your bow is def not overkill, your bow deserves a good case that takes care of your bow, your release might actually be the least beginner friendly piece of your kit, for me using a finger release is easier than a thumb release, finger release just forgives your anchor a bit more

    • @Wi_Yeti_Official
      @Wi_Yeti_Official  4 місяці тому

      @@interrogator9437 ive used the finger in the early days/ leading up to purchasing this one and I’m set on the thumb. To each their own, but I just like what I have right now. Only thing that I dont like is there’s been times where I accidentally break too fast and have an early release. Just gotta keep practicing I suppose
