The video I’m referring to was posted on March 10, 2018
They ( Arieh and wife Joanie) flew to Hong Kong and then he took a flight to NY. There are no English subtitles, but they were telling each other “ I love you”, and talking about connecting on FaceTime.
I thought he intimated in a couple of videos that he was gay!
I keep losing interest/motivation for learning other languages, but then I just come and watch your videos and instantly want to study after! Especially when the older Chinese woman says she studies English everyday. Very wholesome 🥰 ありがとございました !
That is so adorable!! The lady that started asking Xiaoma about the different beans, and I empathize that it would be hard for her to learn them since it's not based on colours. Connecting with people and narrowing the gap is beyond my ability to describe perfectly. But on that note... "great numbing flavor" ... I've always been fascinated with terms or ways of thinking that are not necessarily covered in English. By that concept alone, learning another language could potentially make you smarter.
Anyway... Xiaoma is a treasure. Been binging these in reverse order. I've been sharing these on the daily.
There's nothing more humbling than a native speaker saying you speak better than their native language. It makes you feel so good and that all the hard studying is paying off. Keep it up! :)

Xiaoma inspired me to learn how to speak my mother tongue (Tagalog). If he can learn multiple foreign languages, I can definitely learn one language that I am somewhat familiar with!!

She did not articulate herself well, Chinese all get her. Most stuff like groceries and clothes are cheaper in big cities, except real estate, however if you already own a house in Beijing your net worth would appreciate fast due to a booming property market (possibly a bubble)

All FOR FREE. including 🥑 avocado trees. Yes the anyone can walk up to any tree freely and take as many as you want and need.

Then in the vid where they go to the nail salon he say "queer eye for a straight guy" when his gay friend is joining him to help him change his style. I think his wife probably just doesn't want to deal with everyone recognizing her everywhere so stays out of the vids, but idk that's just my theory.
