In today's video we're back in TBC classic with another slave pens 1 pull, but this time it's with a PALADIN! I believe this is the first paladin 1 pull slave pens video to date! There are certainly some improvements to be made, and I'll be looking into those as I practice the run, but wanted to give you all the first iteration of the 1 pull so that you can get started with it if you'd like to as well!

Hey! I have been trying this with a 65 blood elf paladin and the coilfang defenders are not following the pat under the ramp! every single time I jump on the ledge all the mobs except for 1 coilfang defender pats it just stays there and wacks me to death, am i doing something wrong?

@@TogetherWeSolo I've seen this while testing the method a couple dozen of times. I've observed this when you don't use a gernade to stun the mobs before sprinting to the ledge. The best way to deal with it is try to run around the corner, as if you are in the kill phase. Though, you might take additional hits from the mobs as you attempt to run around the corner, but that's better than dying to the defender.
Hey! I've been messing around on my paladin for the last couple days, and I have had trouble with surviving the "gather-phase", and I have therefore had more success with skipping that phase and going straight to killphase, using bubbles and BoP to gather them up instead. - It does make the entire pull take a little longer, I've noticed, but I hope it might be helpful to some, as it has to me :P

You can add mana oil on your weapon for more regeneration. Also use super mana/healing potions instead of major ones.

Those Tecnicians are sure the worst part of it - and that I only get to 200 SP with buffs ^^
And how it’s going ? Are u doing it from level 62? I’m level 46 and would like to do that too at 62
@@sYneeK742 lvl 62 seems possible but super hard tbh. The first one where I managed to kill all, I left out 4 packs and even then only barely survived. As far as I've made it out, the 2 champions and 2 technicians patrolling the boss room are what you'll have to pull. Every pack added raises the difficulty a lot imo.
Pulled all the packs like in the video now and they killed my on the way to the kill spot, couldn't heal enough ^^

Glad to hear it! I’m working through alternatives for the stacking as well. Unfortunately servers went down and I had to prep for Kara ASAP so I wanted to get out the strat as a working strat with potential for improvements!
@@arlaeus9491 I did it quite a few times by now and start to think the Rain of Fire being started to channel might have some connection to the proximity of the wall when you slip off - if that makes any sense? I now started to sidestep off of it more and definetly see some improvements.
Being BE helps a lot too tbh.
It definetly works but in my case I just take way too long for it to be efficient ^^ will definetly visit later with more spellpower becouse gold wise it's pretty great tbh.

I'm thinking of trying this farm out, but it might take a couple of hours to learn it, and another couple of hours do even pull it off effectively. So I was wondering what the future prospects of this is? I mean, is it likely that you can boost people with this and earn gold that way, or are there drops from the mobs that are valuable enough to justify doing this at 70?
Although this was very entertaining to watch, I think overall using this strat to level is going to be less time-efficient than just doing normal dungeons as tank. Why? Because the level of gear, cost of consumes, and (especially) the number of times you'll die trying to learn the pull will slow you and make things less efficient. That said, I'm once again super impressed by the level of skill Arlaeus continues to exhibit in all his videos. :)
Subjective on the player. I learned this pull in 3 deaths. So actually ended up being extremely efficient for me. You make the money for consumables back
I love the idea alot but if u wanna aoe farm xp why not go shadowmoom valley or the other 50 spots . Or just run normal dungeons . If ur prot u find a group in 5 mins. It seems so not worth it just to kill a few trash from sp. The video is great tho
Hey, Arla! I'm kinda curious: Is there any reason you can't do that ledge jump you're doing in the kill phase, as a mage?
You can but you have to kill them when they come down from the other side

After 90 mins of practicing I made it to the point where the mobs pass me after clumping them up pretty regularly. Can't heal against the damage they are making when they pass me, though. I'll try to use a LIP there tonight. Have T2/T2.5.
Just finished the ZF solo runs. now I have few levels to learn this one.
bro this run might be good on paper. but zf is the god run. this aint some shit that you will pull off like ZF while smoking a pot and smashing your gf. this run is randomness, messups and fails included. its hellfire
@@framed9240 I did it on my paladin lvl 63 didn’t have any crazy gear and I only used swiftness pots so it’s not that hard
@@Zerotwo-ft5lt bro the chance of you getting onehit when stacking them at the wall by them running past u is a gamble. you either get dropped to 5% or die. if you only die 1-2x per hr the whole xp farm is worse then questing or doing caster cleeves

How do you pull all/most of ZF with the healers and blood drinkers ?
This is the sort of things that's really neat to see that it's been done, and is certainly an achievement, but doesn't seem efficient enough to be considered a proper method when other, faster alternatives with a much higher success rate and much lower gear / consumable requirement. Looking forward to seeing the iterations of this and how it evolves over the coming months.

Run around the corner and go as far down the tunnel after jumping up on the side. Then the mobs can't hit you as you're running past. Also there is a small chance that mennu will be aggroed when the mobs run past. It happens very rarely but sometimes it does happen.
what do you think of the ret/holy build combining Holy Guidance with sanctity aura?
It would be a damage increase for individual consecrates but you’d be lacking the burst cool down opportunities. Can definitely try it though!

Hey @Arleaus! Great video as usual however I don't want to be that guy but the 77k XP this session is with more than 5% of the XP being rested which skews the XP/h a bit. It's almost like these retail farm guides where you can farm 200k gold per h if you get one drop that doesn't sell on AH for 2-3 months of constant reposting.
Otherwise a great video and a good start for a potential farm!

Identifying the exact mob GUIDs to track that is easy. But the hard part would be that I don't think anyone knows exactly how long the xp reset time is.
@@BenderdickCumbersnatch He says it's something between 20 and 30 seconds. So I guess it's not a separate addon big idea just a 20 sec countdown would be enough so you know how long you can chill safely.
I didn't mean to count the total amount of xp loss.
There is an old tbc addon named CombatTimer which shows the time until you leave the pvp combat if you don't participate in it (not hitting or not getting hit by any spell). So it's basically the similar thing with different time.
@@OctaneeX Yeah just you'd need an addon which counts the last time you damaged each individual mob (tracked by their GUID). The only possible problems are if the game doesn't give GUIDs in the combat log (but I think it does), and knowing the exact time of when XP loss occurs (hard to measure, someone would have to manually test a lot).
What addon makes your talent tree look like that?
I have a question, your consecration hits 40 per tic, but it only cost you like 130 mana points. What do you use to reduce that cost?

I've managed to imitate every Arlaeus pull until this one. It is nearly impossible without a more geared paladin.
The mobs will either murder you once you first get to the reset spot and they run past you, or after you try to bubble and coalesce them, and run back to the reset spot. The damage is just too significant.

Working on a workaround to make it easier to live the stacking phase. Unfortunately I had to get ready for Kara so had to rush that but wanted to show it at least at 66 for the experience and as a working farm then improve on it down the line

@@mattyice7762 I did it yesterday with a mix of blues/greens. The spell power was so low that it took forever. About 70k xp per hour so ill stick to questing

@@user-cw9ev9dq4v Dunno mate, but I'm getting 18ish gold per run from raw silver, 35ish gold per run from grays/greens/cloth, 2.2gish repair per run and 2-3 large brills per run (8g on my server, 2.5g per blue average if you vendor instead). I get 4 runs per hour with around 7 minutes downtime to lockout, so 4x all those prices you get roughly 230g/hr without sharding blues and roughly 280-300g/hr with sharding blues.

He just said it in the video. Are you not listening? He lost about 5k exp from some of the mobs resetting their exp. Soon as you have them stacked they will take continual consecrate damage often enough to not reset exp.

Dude, i tried sell the slave pens boosts with my mage and the boosties didnt got that many xp. Can you make a video explaing for the boosts at 70?
Obviously the boosties receive so less xp because it's not the same doing solo than doing with a 70 char in party.

Sporegarr shield isn’t great and you’re not trying to block attacks so it doesn’t have a chance to proc reallu

It can be done to 70, but I would only recommend doing it until you’re honored with cenarionnexpedition (5999/6000)

A decent group can clear slave pens in 30-40 min and NIT is saying I got 90-96k EXP from it at lvl 62. Comes out to be around 140-180k exp if you just dungeon grind it normally. Just something to consider because it feels like theres a lot of points of failure in this solo atm, especially the part where you have to heal through the barrage of mobs. Not hating though, still very impressive
Yes it's definitely difficult haha. I'm hoping to find some more ways to make it safer and more efficient, but have to get attuned for kara asap on this toon.
@@arlaeus9491 if you do 4 mage 1 healer (all of level) you can hit the same XP rates you do here; but with smaller margins of error / margins of kill time issues.
The best part of a solo grind is not having to make a group. Has been nice just leaving my pally in Gadgetzan and when I have 30 mins free I hop in ZF and do a few runs and log off. I'm gonna try this for sure in a few more levels.
@@HWRogue the best part of a g rind requiring 0 tanks or healers technically. is that you can just grind it and not require tanks or healers with other dps spam.
I can clear a full SP in like 26mins with my group and get 80k. Its not worth for me try to do that, but is fking impressive

if your fast enough you can go right all the way after jumping, this way the mobs wont hit you when they turn
seems like a pretty ballsy strat considering you almost died twice at 10:55 without making any grave error. Unless youre geared to the teeth i wouldnt try this one
I can confirm. I primarily bought elder and sorcerer plate gear from the AH and planned to tank the damage as they passed. I made it about 20% of the time, which are terrible odds. I've found that the "better" way to stack is to jump on and off the ledge while continually bubble off cool down until they're stacked, then start the kill phase. The other alternative to tanking the damage is to jump on the ledge and run around the corner asap. You run the risk of the mobs casting rain of fire or the cripple. If you're a BE you can sometimes reach with arcane torrent to cancel the rain of fire, but ultimately you can just wait for them to eventually stack with the burst phases.

That experience loss when not hitting mobs for a while is not true. I left a comment on one of your other videos but I tested this extensively in every dungeon from Deadmines to Maura by killing a mob asap with a level 60 mage and an at level boosty nearby and beating the same type and level mob down to almost death and leaving it alone for several minutes before finally killing it. Same experience.
You didn't wait long enough. It's ~3-5 minutes, solo in a dungeon. You can see the variance in XP he gets in the video because of this.
@@allcapsone7809 3 to 5 minuts? Are you nuts? Arleaus acts like if you miss even one round in ZF you loose XP. Still, I went and tested it again. I killed a level 23 Defias Captive in stockades with my level 60 mage and level 23 warlock as quickly as possible. The warlock received 114 XP (57 rested). I then went and pulled another level 23 defias Captive and beat him down to 15% asap and then just stood there and let him beat on my for THRITY FULL MINUTES.... just refreshing my ice shield and watching Dragon Ball. After my Ice Armor fell off 30 minutes later I fireblasted the mob and my warlock got 114 XP. It's just not true. This XP loss from not hitting mobs thing is just not true. It's not hard to test on your own either (Easier if you two box like I do). Just go to stocks or wherever and test it like I did above. I'm writing this as I am leaving stocks right now... so this test was done today, June 15th, 2021.
I would never put my self into that stress.

realistically its just as fast in a decent 5 man to dungeon grind. but you can sell this to boost other players, runs on my server range from 20-30g per person.

i ithink its very impressive, but simply waste of time. its ineffective, while leveling. plus on lvl70, with proper gear and figurine of the colossus, you can facetank the whole grp, without this tricks.
When you are level 70 you won't be worried about xp/hr
