Call me crazy but what is better flex pipes or hard pvc for longevity?

I’m doing the same thing myself. I’m connecting to some old flex pipe. How do you recommend connecting hard to flex pvc? And schedule 40 is okay?

If you clean up the flex pipe good enough and use a good primer and glue you can essentially just glue a coupling onto the existing flex pipe and connect to it that way. If the flex is decayed and old then it becomes difficult as in most cases you may need to get creative and heat up the flex in used a barbed fitting
