Really enjoying your videos Dan, so much good golf content on UA-cam at the moment but always look at yours for those tips and tricks! Much appreciated
If you want sound advice and tips on golf explained well, then you need to watch this and all of Dan’s videos. For me the best instructional videos on UA-cam. If you want to putt better and like 🐈 then this is right up your street. Tops as always Dan.👍
Dan's the best professional golf teacher I've found. His book and UA-cam videos have helped me tremendously. I'd love to attend his short game clinic sometime. God Bless!
Make MY putt, don't worry about making THE putt. That's the best bit of putting advice I've ever heard! Love the channel and love the book. Keep up the great work Dan!
Such a good, helpful video. Appreciate the instruction, especially on the short ones. Thank you, sir. P.S. I liked the little visitor at 19:18. Really funny
Great video Dan, on the most important part of the most important part of the game. You obviously made the video at sunset, and it was a little hard to see the ball marker. How far behind the marker do you start the ball? Keep up the great work.
Some great tips and drills - thanks Dan. If you are not already sponsored by Rolex based, with all the exposure in this video I hope there is a watch coming your way.
Holy COW this is great stuff. The short putts - i feel defensive so i don't blow it by the hole. Any advice? You say putt with authority but if i hammer to the back of the hole and miss - it will be a disaster 3 putt.
Dan from Alaska here, Dan (love your first name, by the way!). First of all, I love the content. As usual, this video was beneficial. My issue with putting from distance is making sure I am lined up on the line I want to hit. I can stand behind the ball to pick a line, but I struggle to stand beside the ball and feel confident I am aiming the ball correctly. I have tried to pick a spot a short distance in front of my ball, but most greens don't have a distinctive marking that I can keep an eye on as I walk from the back to the address. Any tips?
There’s only one spot to pick. That’s the hole. You shouldn’t trick your mind into thinking the ball should be going any where else. If you just start picking spots, your body get’s confused. My method is to pick my line. Set up to my line. Look down my line, but focus on the hole. Don’t look at the hole, just focus on it in your periphery as you keeping looking down the line. Then look at the ball, keeping the hole still in outer focus, then strike. To me, it feels like the hole becomes part of my body, which just knows how to will the ball into it. (I’ve caddied on Tour btw)
@@vanbalzup6481 Thanks for the comment. I don't doubt your expertise, but I wonder if your explanation answers my question. Could you clarify? Let me give you an example of my dilemma. I stand behind the ball and make a determination on a 40-foot putt that the ball will break about 3 feet from right to left. I visualize the path of the ball from this position. Right or wrong, I have determined my aim. However, when I walk back to my ball and look down at it to ensure my feet are in the right place, I have lost my line. I don't know if my feet are facing perpendicular to my line or not. The problem, in a nutshell, is setting up my line so I can hit the ball on the line. This issue decreases on shorter putts. The further away, the harder it is for me to set up properly.
There’s always a bit of grass that’s a different shade to the rest. But it’s unmemorable, so if you divert your gaze away you can’t find it again - you need to keep looking at the line while you walk up to it, and keep focussing on that bit of grass while you take your address position….that’s how I do it anyway. But I’m no world expert so keen to hear others’ tips
@@therealbonj I try to do that, but I have to look away to make sure that my feet are the right distance from the ball at address. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Get my feet perpendicular to the point I'm looking at, then check my feet/ball relationship and just trust it. Thanks for the tip.
Hi Dan, how important is it to be able to address the putter at its lie angle - neither toe-up nor toe-down? I've been working with a mirror at home but just can't get the feel on the green. Any tips for visual check?
How important is a putter fitting when thinking of a new putter? I’m not sure whether I need a toe hang or face balanced putter, then there is blade, mallet etc, length. Lots to consider.
At 13:20, you talk about the length of the practice stroke and how you determine the length, much like the "Goldilocks" method; it's too hard, too soft, just right. I use that many times in my chipping to decide how "hard" to hit the ball. I wonder if that's a method you would advocate? 👍🏽
I paid £100 for your app and yet there is more information on your you tube channel for free. Disappointed to say the least should have kept my money in my pocket.

More putting videos please!! Your short game videos are so helpful thanks for all your efforts
Love your content Dan. I like to keep my lead hand low, helps me with distance control and level shoulders at address.
This video is Pure Win and exactly what I needed. Will put these tips and drills into practice. Thank you sir.
Great as always Dan. Its so helpful to have your practical guidance on drills to improve. Thanks!
Thanks, Mr. Grieve! I’m definitely taking some of these drills to the practice green! Cheers from Washington State!
Nice, this is the part of 'the short game' I was missing. Thanks Dan! ⛳
Absolutely fantastic information dan will definitely instil some of those into my game, so many shots can be saved from putting

Great video Dan. And clearly going forward you should include more cats.
Excellent 😀
can't believe the cat didn't play with the string or ball, clearly a professional cat

Nothing says “playing around with that “ like building a practice station 😂
No snow there then?!
How juicy is that putter and that green on his putter? I love it!
Straight into my veins please ty
