Driving. Would really like to hit 200+ yards off the tee. Never done it before. Lessons never helped either. I honestly do not know what it takes to get it done.
@@JeffPassageCPA Hmm, getting 20-40 yards as amateur can really help you play better scores! What do you think is causing you to not be able to hit the ball further! Is it Clubs, physique, the swing, maybe there is a simple error in the swing, that is causing you to not hit the ball properly!
@@GP_Golfing Just can't generate enough club head speed. Lessons haven't helped. Speed trainers haven't helped. I am fit enough at 69. But it's always been a mystery why I can't hit balls farther than I do.
Hmm interesting, maybe its just your muscle construction, that you cannot produce enough speed in the swing, but Iam 100% sure there is something in swing, thats why you cannot generate speed. If you want you can send me the swing, and maybe I can help you out!
@@GP_Golfing All good questions, which not one golf instructor I had could ever answer or help me with. "Practice more" was not the answer I needed to hear. But they all took my money, funny that! This is why I will never hire another golf instructor ever again.
This is what I do. I practice more, take lessons too but man the progress is so slow. I still don’t even keep score! I do enjoy practicing tho! This was great advice and very validating for me! Thank you!
Thats great to hear! Most golfers don't want to practise so you already have an advantage over them.. Keep trying, you will see the results soon. But If that keeps happening, and you think you still put the time & effort in and you still don't see improvement, then maybe you need to reflect: what can I improve more! Maybe its my approach to the game, coach, clubs, or just the mentallity that your not improving. So just keep practicing💪🏻 (But don't forget to have fun in the process)
@ Thanks! I got fitted for clubs and have a new set and I really love my clubs. I have gorilla arms and am hyper flexible so I need to work on stability. I’ve switched coaches too so I know I have a good coach and she even takes videos which I never had before. This is great feedback. I do reflect but reflect to the bad. I need to be more positive and enjoy it more. I get picky on myself and “ocd ish”. I’m a grinding it out person but definitely need to enjoy it more. Positive self talk is what I need to work on. Thanks for the tips! One more thing..one of last things you said, “ the mentality that you’re not improving” Wow I think you may have nailed it. I always feel like like I should be improving way faster and want to see results right away. I need to be more patient with myself. Yes, this is huge!
Thats great! Fitted clubs always help! Reflecting on the bad is and can be good, but too much negative will be destructive, it has to be ballanced! It takes time to learn to think positive, it is really hard, beacuse our mind processes negative thoughts much quicker. Exacly, The way you think is the way you are going play! Thats why being in a good mental state helps so much! But of course the most important thing is patience, it takes time! So just have to enjoy and have fun in the process, and you will see the results.. You got this💪🏻
My dream of breaking 90 for the first time ever is long over, after 57 years of playing golf. I now only play golf if I do a 2-man best ball scramble. My playing partner is 50 yards better of the tee than me (230 vs 180), but my short game inside 50 yards is better than his. We normally break 80 and go home happy.
Nice video like your views totally. I am 20 hcp and want to make my short game and putting. I hit driver 200 yards and I think it’s good enough second shot needs to get better and under 100 Yards I want to attack pin cause GIR green in regulation is not happening as I wished
Thank you! I see so you want to make your short game better ( I would start with basics, on (putting & chipping) you need to get those settled in, it will help you get a basic understanding of golf! So learning the fundamentals is crucial! Soon Small Masterclass for chipping is coming out so maybe check that out! Do you have someone who can help you with course management! that usually plays a big role why many golfers miss the GIR! So maybe put a little eye on that!
Agree. But also take note, the pros play and play and play. There is no better way than being on the course. They look at their data about the 4 days of the tournament, as well as the day before a tournament (which means they play 5 days per week). Don’t believe their drills are greater in hours than their actual play. Not even code for most.
I agree, but you must understand pros play & play because their game is already on the highest lvl, they change small things a little by little. But for an amateur who doesn't even know his swing & has lots to work on his technique its best to not compare to Pros. As I said, playing is really important but you need to get your base swing so you can actaully start going into more adavnce things, such as course management and puting it all together on the course!
Practice is important. But playing and paying attention to consistency and course management is by far more important than

And how do you gain consistency again? If simply playing was 'by far more important' we wouldn't see professionals spend so much time doing drills and practice sessions on the range.
Yeah you gain consistency on the practise! The more you practise the more consitent with your shots you are going to be, of course there are diferent factors but in the base more practise=more consitency. Thats why pros do so many drills, and practise sessions!
Send this to my buddy. Bro's got every swing fault in existance but refuses to practice. All he's done so far are 10 lessons when he started. Ever since then all he does it play on the course and play simulated rounds on the range. No practice.
Stuck in a loop, its annoying because it keeps you frustrated over golf everytime you play! send the video to him, maybe it will help him understand the problem better!
What’s one thing you want to improve in your golf game in 2025? Let me know in the comments!
