4:12 That freaking amazing powerful sound! It's JP's signature sound and open ninth chords, I know it's the combination of the guitar, the mesa Mark V, the effects and the pedal, but hearing his crunch chorus sound always puts a smile on my face and makes me want to buy that pedal even if I have other chorus preferences.
It's pretty glorious.

This is awesome. When I firsts started playing guitar I had all of these tones in my head with no idea how to get them on an amp and with a pedalboard. When I first heard John Petrucci I instantly heard all of the tones that I wanted. With this pedal I can get one step closer to the tones I want for my own music, which is a bit heavier and a lot darker than most of DT's music.
One of the most useful pedals on my board. Works exactly as shown here. LOVE it.
I don't know (or care) about the economics or marketing of this pedal, as they benefit Mr. Petrucci, but I just got this pedal, and it does EXACTLY what I want it to do. It offers some very cool sounds. The thing I may enjoy the most is the setting that allows you to play those big open chords distorted, and clearly hear the individual notes as you pick them.

As an update, I have been using the TonePrint part of the pedal with great success. I already have my favorites, and the ability to change the pedal in a matter of seconds is so much fun, and it inspires me everyday. Very. Cool. Feature.

[7 years later...] Got it brand new for 80€, amazing deal, amazing pedal, always love TC quality stuff. it's 99% perfect, it would be FLAWLESS if it had Phaser, but otherwise, just amazing!

This pedal is awesome!! Connect it to a Mesa and it adds so much great tone. Its one of the top chorus pedals out there that can also do flanger and vibrato.

Played one of these with a 25th Anniversary Ibanez Universe guitar. I dig it. Dreamy indeed when set correctly (for what you're going for) and you're running enough volume to hear every nuance.

yeah not sure about in the studio but he def uses it live and has for years now...
I upgraded to this from the corona, love it! Its a bit brighter, and open which i wanted.....plus the other sounds, and the metal knobs. Awesome

You'll have to tweak it - check out our Nova modulation pedal, if you want user presets.
i think a genius like Petrucci doesn't need to stole anything from anyone,he's a true musician,a creator man,and this gift is from GOD himself!

I don't think I've ever seen a backup pedal board before, that's pretty cool.
Don't be fooled he's got a Music Man JP Signature guitar, a big part of that tone comes from the piezo pickup, although that pedal does make a nice addition, and it looks really nice too.

I actually own a boss effect pedal, only way to get a good sound out of it is putting it in the amp's effect loop which is of course completely normal, but will waste space and cables and requires two separate effect chains if you are using distortion and compression pedals. My point was that the volume control thing you complained about is a normal thing with better quality pedals. Boss pedals are good for the price, but if you are willing to pay 50$ more you can get much better quality.

I don't know about this pedal but the. JP6 rocks like no other. I purchased one last week and it puts all my other guitars to shame.

This is just something to make him money with his name on it. Live he uses an axe fx ultra for his effects and a midi switcher board. What a joke. TC builds nice stuff but this pedal seems like a cheap cash grab.
FastRedPonyCar He using also pedals.I saw that on numerous gear walk-through ,including this pedal.You can see this even on this video,there are pedals out there.But I`m not personally amazed with sound of this pedal.
He's using a TC Hyper Gravity, Keeley Red Dirt overdrive, TC Helix, 2 TC Dreamscapes, and a TC Viscous Vibe, Axe FX is just for delay and reverb :P

Sounds amazing. I hate most chorus effects, they all sound like the 80's but TC does it right and this is something to look into.
When loading a toneprint to the Dreamscape, the blue light have to flash? In my pedal the blue light stays always the same, no flash, in the other pedals it flashes...

Now it's available for £140 from thomann i'm pretty tempted to get one, I tried one out in the store and the sounds are fantastic, even under heavy distortion it remains clear which is pretty impressive. I just don't have a lot of need for a chorus/flanger in my setup, i'd never use it live and it'd probably get relegated to bedroom use while im playing a DT track. Shame really.
I recently bought this pedal. My other 3 chorus pedals are mono and I have been fooling with stereo. Sounds ok and I am 50/50 on taking it back as it sounds no better and in some cases worse,thinner etc than the older ones. What gets me is he has the first 3 settings for "clean" and the other 3 for "dirty". Well seeing that there is one fs [on/off] when you go from a clean intro and kick in the gain, what good are the dirty settings? They obviously sound weaker/thinner =good for gain but are we supposed to bend over and twist the knob every time we want to go betreen modes? I also have a older TC modulator pedal. Same thing. You could not even change 9 presets unless you pressed a button or balanced on your heels and stepped on 2 buttons at once.
