I have a destination charger at home, in addition to that, my wife’s work place has a NEMA 14-50 charger. We charge our Tesla 80% of time at work because it’s free.
@@georgepelton5645 , definitely. I was being facetious because the topic was “free”. I charge for free at the university across the street from my condo.
FYI, I was informed when I ordered my Model 3 (I don't have it yet, should be getting it in May) that residents of Ohio and Virginia are not eligeable for the referral program due to state law. It sucks, but oh well, what can you do.
Hello, I live at a condo, do not have a charger, i use Tesla super charger also i use EVGO or charge point. I am working on getting a 110 outlet at home.
First: Thanks for ALL the great videos! I've watched them all and learned something in each one. :D The A to the Q: There are 2 charges at my office (ea. w/ 2 ports) and the charging is free (so far). BUT ... as nice as that is ... I went ahead and dropped a few $$$ and added a 220 outlet to my home garage and bought the Tesla NEMA 14-50 adapter. THAT was a game changer. I don't even THINK about charging now .. unless I do a "road trip". (we'll see how Thanksgiving goes from Boston to NYC) :\
I know this video is a little older, but if you don’t own a home, do NOT shy away from a Tesla. I live in an apartment for 2 years and I kept using the super charger. The time is a hassle yes, but with good management you forget about it.
My home was built in 2017, has a 200amp breaker panel in the garage. I paid $250 for a electrician to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet. I only needed the outlet installed a few feet away from the breaker panel, so that greatly reduced what I had to pay for the install. Bought a 32amp Level II evse from Amazon for $240 (on sale before Christmas). I can charge my Honda Clarity at a full 32 amps. I do plan on buying a Tesla in the future, so I figure I have future-proofed things for charging a EV with a much larger battery than my Clarity.
thanks for the video. I have heard that you are not supposed to use a Tesla Super charger more than a couple times a month. Supposedly it degrades the battery faster. Have you heard about this?
You set to charge 90%. Whenever it reaches 90%, it will automatically stop charging or you have to disable or remove the connector otherwise it will continue to charge over 90%?
It might be eco friendly. The majority of power in the grid comes from coal, nuclear, nat gas. Sure, some comes from wind and solar and even hydro. Batteries are either full of lead or lithium and tires aren’t exactly eco friendly. If you like electric cars that’s great, but how environmentally friendly is it with today’s power grid?
@@AlessandroVolta1 u might be right but regardless its more environmentally friendly then a combustion vehicle thats for sure, oil changes, filters, battery, gas, tires as well etc
@@EMtesla1 lol boom headshot. I always laugh at people who say this and I say the EXACT same thing. I pay taxes too. Other Tesla owners also pay taxes so shut yo mouth people. Just got my MYP. We LOVE IT. We are gonna install the wall charger but have been using the generic wall outlet charger. Quick question, is it cost effective to use a wall charger to charge it quicker at higher amperage rates vs the slower charge time of a wall outlet? Might sound like a stupid question and I believe the answer is yes. We usually charged up to 80% and by the time we finish and come home it’s at 58%. Using outlet charger it takes 13-14 hrs to reach 80%. With wall charger my guess is it’s gonna be around 2-2.5 hours?

I charge at California State University Northridge. There are numerous 30 amp 240 volt free electricity in various parking lots.
Thanks for your video. I charge my Model 3 to 80% in my driveway every night, using my L2 J1772 EVSE.
Thanks George!
Is it free to charge on your driveway?
@@richiesd1 , Not free, but very convenient, and way less expensive than gas.

Killer video! Thanks man!
I live in Wilmington and I'm always in Raleigh so that's cool. You charged near North Hills

Many fast charges will shorten the life of the battery. 120 will be painful unless you want to plan everything in advance.
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste and Thank You for All your efforts to support this Great Cause 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ 🌷 ☮️ ❤️

Not that I know of.. you can watch "tesla joy's' youtube channel and she ONLY uses supercharging and sees no sign of battery degradation.
Y does he closes the chargeur door dosent he know it closes by itself ?
So how much in gas money do you think you save per year because you have an electric car instead of ICE.
Please check out the video under my channel regarding "how much it costs to charge a tesla' video
Chargepoint isn't free, right? You preload the charge point app with a credit card.
Most are free some cost a fee, especially in parking garages
Do you always plug in the car 1st and then the electrical outlet or does it not matter what order you plug in the car?
It really doesn't matter... I prefer to plug the tesla in last.
Anyway to use a referral with a Tesla vehicle you have already bought?
No sir, once purchased, it's too late.
how many miles does the referral code get you?
You and I both receive 1,000 miles
Work and jewel osco for free

So who is actually paying for the electricity at the public library? I’m assuming that taxpayers are powering up your car. Is this the case?
I am also a tax payer yes.
somebody gotta use it and, at least its eco friendly
