This is brilliant. You've left a lot of room for storage, my niece ( jealous of my Odyssey conversion), has talked me into a conversion for her '16 Soul.
It would be even better than it already is if you had a split board at the front seats with hinges, and you could leave the whole instalation but flip up the part of the board behind the driver seat if you want to keep the bed open. But need to drive. Or need to leave quickly for any reason like a medical emergency. I like it, great job!
@@Mansellyn unfortunately you have to buy it at the dealer separately. What I ended up doing getting a fullsize wheel from offer up I just ended up buying a jack and stand kit at autozone works perfectly
It worked out well when my brother and his wife did a long road trip through Utah. They kept warm in freezing temperatures and much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground.
Thank you! What are the dimensions of this platform? Would someone 5’11 be able to sleep on it comfortably with enough leg room? Also does the passenger seat fold down?
Yes - All Soul's the same inside! Emerald Isle of Ireland - Soul Owner Interesting build - Not having to remove rear seating! And pop in like a mobile kitchen unit. Can it be stored in boot area and use rear seats!!
@@mrtwinkie0 That would be great. I saw in another comment that you are located in Southern CA, I am in LA county & wondering if you are open to building one for sale?
@@mrtwinkie0 Thanks for the reply, should I get around to it I will have to get out the measuring tape. At least the video helps with the general construction. Thankyou and Happy New Year 🥳
I slept in my Kia the other day just by folding the seats down, moving the front seats up, and filling the gap between seats with a folding lawn chair. I blew up an air mattress & went to sleep. Next time I won't use the air mattress...it's a bit too long & thick. I'm going to use a chaise-lounge cushion that's about 4.5 inches thick.
Hi! Unfortunately with my current job I don't have the time to build another one right now. Thanks for the interest! It wasn't too hard to. A few simple tools and you could build it yourself!
ummm, I love your build but you really need to have a spare tire for emergencies! 😵excuse me if you said you'll put it back in cause i just skim watched this, but I'm worried you'll be stranded! 😰
One of the best ideas I have seen so far to make at home with easy supplies
Yeah! Finished it in about a day!
This is brilliant.

Nice and simple! Basic and very creative. You have started a trend!🥰
Thanks, mate!

Great idea! Perhaps for version 2.0
This is really awesome. It makes sense, although I do think I would have to leave the spare in. Well done!
The Soul doesn't come with a spare, just a tire repair kit.
@@mrtwinkie0 Lol, I thought I saw a tire well in there. Well, I do want a vehicle with a spare and the build would work for it also. Thanks!

Love the idea we use my girls soul whenever we go out hiking. To have this platform would be awesome to do some camping in
Excellent job
Excellent idea😍🙌
You should create some written/drawn plans and sell them. This is such a great solution without making huge changes to the vehicle.
Brilliant idea except the car was my brother's who lives far away 😂
Nossaaaa ficou muito bom e prático. Parabens!!!!
Great set up, thanks sharing.
Thanks for your support!
Is there any way to get directions and dimensions of how to build one yourself
nope. You have to buy the schematics for $250 each and supply your own materials.
@@PJ-sv4iw Where you buy the schematics at?
Too bad you didn't say how long the bed was.
Super cool idea! Right on...
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Please let us know how it worked out when tested. Comfortable?

Thanks for the video, how long is your bed , I’m 6’2’’ ,just to be sure if i buy a soul ,i will have enough space !
this is genius. You would't happen to have plans for this build would you? I'm seriously thinking about converting my 2021 soul into a mini camper.
It was kind of a build and fix as you go with a general idea in mind
Thank you! What are the dimensions of this platform? Would someone 5’11 be able to sleep on it comfortably with enough leg room? Also does the passenger seat fold down?
Excellent! Kudos!
could you possibly do a tutorial on how to build one?

Hi Carol, if I ever do another build, I will make sure to make a tutorial!
@@deeweeuavp yes, we needed to make it as simple as possible and easy to store.

Unfortunately I don't, we were just making it up as we went

Nice! There are lots of great options when you get creative!
Can I order one from you seriously,I have the same car you got,
Unfortunately this was a one time build. Hopefully it can give you inspiration to build one for yourself!
This is perfect any chance I can buy one from you. I have a 2016. There's no difference in the dimensions.

Are there plans for this online? That's pretty awesome! Great job!
No. We kind of made it up as we went right a rough idea to start wtith
Can you make a plan for me? I’m nomadic and trying to convert mine
@@sweetvicious9343 Me too! :)
Very nice may I gave the plans to build one for my kia please 🙏 🙂
I wish I could buy one from you for my kia soul 2016
I wish I had the time to make these for others!
This is so cool! Has it been supportive so far? After using it are there any adjustments you wish you made?
They love it so far! It's small and portable and spacious.
There are a lot of little patches that we had to do with the first build, so we'd probably make it cleaner next time
Are you travelling without a spare tire ?
Hi, I have a Kia soul 2013 do you think can feet In my car? How much it will cost to send one to Florida?
Hi Lista, I actually don't build these for money right now. I would need to have the car with me to be able to build one. Sorry!
Why didn’t you take the seats out?
It's not a permanent setup and would be too much work to always have to take the seats out and out them back in whenever they went camping.
Keren banget,Masbro
Very clever!
Thanks!
Brilliant !!
How long is the bed area? Can he stretch out when he sleeps?
Probably not going to fit anyone that's 6' or taller, but it's comfortable enough. I guess it depends on what you mean by stretching out.
@@mrtwinkie0 Sleeping without being in a fetal position, the back and legs straight.
Ahh. Yes, he's about 5' 9" and he and his wife sleep quite comfortably completely flat. It's about the size of a full size mattress.
So what about the spare? That is important.
The Kia Soul does not have a spare tire
Can I pay you to make one for me?
Where are you located?
Kenneth Dong Oxford, MS. Where are you? Depending on where you are, I could come get it or pay for shipping.
I’d pay you to make one for me as well and pay for shipping!

how much space do you get if you remove the back seats?
I've never removed the back seats, but you would get a lot of space underneath. You'd have to do a different kind of build though.
👏
Can you build me one?
I would charge more than people would be willing to pay for it to be worth my time, so I don't build for others
You took out the back seats ? And no spare tire ? What, are you crazy or somethings ? ? ?
We did not take out the back seats. The car does not come standard with a spare tire. It comes with a patch kit. Thank you very much.
ummm, I love your build but you really need to have a spare tire for emergencies! 😵excuse me if you said you'll put it back in cause i just skim watched this, but I'm worried you'll be stranded! 😰
Actually, this car comes with a patch kit instead if a spare tire. I definitely would not take out any safety measures out of a car. 🙏
I dare you to make me one
Easy as that ????? u kidding me. That takes a professional house builder to do that. Thanks for showing the video but no thanks.....
