"For Your Eyes Only" , although one of the best James Bond main title songs in the history of the James Bond film franchise, is not the best Bond main title song because (1) the lyrics are not sophisticated enough and (2) it has the absurd lyric, "Maybe I'm an open book because I know your mind.....but you won't need to read between the lines" -- well of course Bond won't need to "read between the lines" of her intentions because she has already indicated that her heart is an "open book"!😂😂. This is such a beautifully 1980s song. I must've seen all of the Roger Moore films at least ten times each throughout the course of the 80s, with this one and Live and Let Die being my favourites. It was great being a kid in the 80s, turning the TV on Saturday or Sunday and there was these classic action films your parents would let you watch, just enough violence and double entendre to let you get away with watching. I remember watching this Bond film back in the day. It was midweek in the afternoon. Hardly anyone in the theater. It was a magical day. I still remember it.
It was the Summer of 1981 when my best friend and I went to see this....we were both 13. We were too young to get all the symbolism in these opening titles of naked women swimming, jumping, spreading their legs and a pistol being held up straight into the air (phallic erection). We just wanted to see shootouts and death defying escapes from James Bond. Now these opening titles are considered taboo, sexist and exploiting of women. I say take me back to 1981.
I saw this when I was 11 in Oxford. These titles awakened me as a man for the first time. They stayed in my head, and the song, well after the movie. Roger was the coolest bond I think, not a tough guy, too classy to be that.

Best bond, and best song of all of the bond films.
Sheena was so beautiful ❤️
I was 12-years-old when this was released. I remember going to the film twice!!
Wow! The only intro where we can actually see the singer that's part of the movie!
One of the best summer movies ever. I saw it in the theater when it came out, blown away by the opening, where's my buttered popcorn?
I agree, please pass the buttered popcorn and let’s enjoy our senior admission discounts we now get at our advanced ages. 🙃
loved this song, still love it
I remember watching this Bond film back in the day. It was midweek in the afternoon. Hardly anyone in the theater. It was a magical day. I still remember it.
Beautiful Sheena and beautiful voice
Back when movies had the music in front of the production to set the tone !
God I love this song !
The only singer who actually appeared in Bond titles.
Not truth , so was Gladis Knight in Licence to kill
Madonna is in Die Another Day.
This got wrong so quick. Sorry dude
Cause she's hot.
Not the only one, but she was the FIRST :)
This was on HBO the very afternoon my family got cable TV back in summer of 1982. What a great summer!
As a young lad, I admit I had a crush on Sheena Easton. Her voice and looks are mesmorizing.
I Luv This Song and The James Bond Movie 🎥 is Great 👍 Had a Crush On Sheena Back in the Day…Come to Think of it I Still Do ( In 2023 ) ❤️🦅
i was a little boy when i saw this 007 movie and i loved the song
I watched this movie when it came out in the 80's at the drive in. And loved it
It was the Summer of 1981 when my best friend and I went to see this....we were both 13.
Carlos Miguel BlueDragon You have very good taste.
I saw this when I was 11 in Oxford. These titles awakened me as a man for the first time. They stayed in my head, and the song, well after the movie. Roger was the coolest bond I think, not a tough guy, too classy to be that.
I was eight when my fàther took me and my brother to see this in Edmonton at the Capital Four theater. I loved this song and the movie
Super crush on Sheena Easton back in the day and in this day. Beautiful song
Best James Bond....Best Bond song .....Best Bond Singer EVER !!!
To this day, the only bond film where the artist is featured in the opening. Sheen Easton killed it here.
One of the most beautiful faces ever!
Roger Moore?
Certainly is! -David S. Blain
Thanku x
She's from Scotland but I wouldn't be surprised if she has some ancestry from another country like Italy.
The smoothest James Bond ever, what a legend! One of my favourite 007 movies....
Nothing better than drinking a 15 pack and playing this on repeat. BANGER.
I heard this on the radio today, as part of guess the year. I never realized just how good it is. Brilliant, just brilliant, what a voice.
Written by Bill Conti, who also did the music to North and South a few years later.
40 years on and still hard as! On ya Sheeba!
Very nostalgic, cool movie and great song. Reminds me of my early years growing up with my brother. Rest easy R.J.🙏😔
This has always been one of my favorite Bond movies ever since I first saw as a kid. I miss Roger Moore.
goose bumps..wonderful song..talented beautiful sheena
