- AFA Reaction Videos, this week we take a look at some dark rides in the Netherlands at a theme park called Efteling. This was requested by Jay Christiaans. This theme park looks amazing and if you want to check it out, it is called Efteling.

The first one is the Fata Morgana and was built in 1986. 2nd one is Dreamflight and was built in 1993. 3rd Carnival Festival was built in 1984....oohh this brings back so many good memories. But the Efteling is soo much more than the dark rides. It's great for all ages.
wow thats amazing, i would love to experience this myself even more so now after this bit of history.
most of the animatronics at the Efteling are not computer-controlled. that makes them even more amazing IMHO
I can recommend to visit the Efteling yourself. It’s a great family park. I visit it every 2 years.
There’s much more than dark rides. Everything in Efteling is about theming.
Symbolica is indeed trackless and offers three different random routes. It is the latest addition and did cost 35 Million Euro and has been finished in 2017.
My dad is disabled and the ride being trackless means that they can have a different entry platform where you can get on easily from a different platform and then they just slide you in in between the other carts without them having to stall the entire ride. It's a wonderful experience!
Allright my friend, you really need to cross the ocean and visit both Efteling and Phantasialand! I'm sure you're gonna love visiting both parks ( and they're not that far apart from eachother;-)

The robotics are made in-house and not bought. Some are very simple in design, you will be amazed if you would see how they are made.

The Efteling is a beautiful park. It's nostalgic for me. I used to go there every Friday with my grandmother, I had a subscription.
What makes Efteling so beautiful and special are three elements. First, many of the figures and scenes were designed and drawn by Anton Pieck, a Dutch artist who lived through both World Wars. Later Ton van de Ven joined, who took over his role.
Secondly, the music for each attraction has been composed exclusively within the organizations of the Efteling. Much of the music was composed by Ruus Bos and later René Merkelbach.
Third, the fragrance in the attractions is exclusive. Every attraction has its own scent.
These three elements enhance the attractions and for me also the nostalgia.

If you like to visit Efteling, take 2 full days!! And don't forget about the fairytale forest! This place is HUGE.
Also.. don't worry about the language barrier, most people in The Netherlands will speak English.

I love love LOVE the Efteling but I hate the Carnaval Festival ride with a passion. To each his own, I guess. But I think the Efteling is sucha great theme park, I don’t feel the urge to explore other theme parks. There is só much for all ages!
Such very intriguing rooms & animatronics. Thanks for introducing the Disney crowd to different way to theme animatics rides. Very enjoyable

I wonder if it would be the same feeling I get, when I go to Walt Disney World.
fatamorgana movements works with wooden wheels that pull and push wires. (some effects in video did not work like lasers)
Too bad the camera is too light sensitve. It does not do it justice.

Walt disney actualy got inspired by the Efteling to build dysney land.
The main difference is the fairy tales storys are the darker anderson and brothers grim versions.
There are a ton of different darkrides these where just a few of the older rides .
The park original theme park design of buildings and characters where created by a well known artist and children books ilustrator. Anton Pieck. as he did ilustrate the brothers grimm , anderson ,arabian nights and many other children books . The park got an extra apeal to small children as the characters they where growing up with where now real as live. transporting them in to their story books.

The sell a wand , that is a replica of the themparks mascot "Pardoes " .
He uses it to take you on and adventure through the dark rides .
The fun part is the wand glows and warns you when something interesting is to be discoverd . waving infront or touching a special symbol magical things will happen. through out the park.
Last week they got some news they can expand the park.
There is also a second park that is verry popular its called Duinrell . And it has one of the best water parks in the netherlands..

Disney did go to Efteling for inspiration Efteling is few years older

They have also a rollercoaster that is half dark De vliegende hollander, the flying dutchman

These are some fun rides. Kinda wish they had translations.
The only ride that has speech is Symbolica, with some English sentences said sometimes. Fata Morgana has Arabian speech, but it's not meant to be understood
All coasters have preshows before entering the ride
The Python does not have a pre-show.
@@chris1978nl the python is the exception to most Efteling rules. It was the first coaster ride in Europe if I remember correctly and it was built when the Efteling realised these Neede some thrill to attract the older kids and younger adults. They totally forgot to theme it and have regretted it to this day. The Efteling fans forgive them though since the ride is as popular as ever even competing with the new ones.

A lot of effects on fata morgana werent working on this video. Such a shame for such a good ride.
Efteling is the best themepark after europa park Germany.
Are we talking in Europe? I can't say what is the best Theme Park, because I haven't been to all of them.

The audio from the rides is to loud compared to your voice. Made it hard to listen too. Edit: sorry man i am very much interested in this video but i stoped watching halfway through dreamflight. The audio was just to anoying.

@@AddyFamilyAdventures all good man. as a Dutch guy who grew up with the efteling i can say the dark rides are amazing but it has so much more to offer. the fairytale forest highly themed eating places. overall great nature and my all times fav the python (a truly classic coaster.) if you ever get the chance to visit dont question it just go you wont regret it.
You can better go to the efteling yourself its better then this video
I would love to visit The Efteling, but right now it would cost me between $4000 to $8000 for my wife and I to fly there.
