If only my parents knew that I had ADHD growing up, ahh my mom was always doing homework with me and at times would call me stupid for the lack of focus on my side. And in class I would not be able to pay attention to what teacher says, I’d be very much distracted and I suffered from low self esteem all my life. There's a difference between anenergetic child and a child with adhd.

ADHD kids and kids in general need to have more activity in school. What’s so bad bout a child not wanting to sit and read a book they are not interested in for 1 hour because the teacher assigns it. More freedom in choice and more activity benefits all students to explore their creativity and stay happy and healthy. I would always want to get up and leave class to walk around because I was bored. Not because I was a trouble maker. Being labeled a trouble maker for wanting to move around, is what’s actually hurting children’s self esteem, not having adhd.

I couldn't agree more. School forces you to focus on things you don't like and you don't have any option to do otherwise like you are in a cage. I might have ADHD because I do act out from emotions and have a bad time management and have a hard time focusing. It started when I was like 13

    • @Shayvideos1

I've said this for years..along with the school hours..I know parents have to work so that's probably not gonna change..but waking kids as young as 4 up at sometimes 5-6 am every morning expecting them to be productive for 8 hours is just unrealistic.

I was diagnosed with ADHD, but my parents refused to put me on medication because they believed it a total nonsense, cause they grew up in the 70s and 80s and they seen kids with that behavior in their time. I was diagnosed with it too. They didn't want to put me on meds so instead they made sure I had a healthy diet with limited sugars, and kept me in sports at all times. I know now that a lot of my issues growing up and also now stem from growing up in an emotionally turbulent and chaotic household! I believe trauma to be a bigger, more important source of issues than any diagnosis.

To everyone who is against medication for ADHD or think it's fake: I was diagnosed at 21 and because I never had any diagnosis, medication or support I ended up with severe social anxiety from inability to concentrate on anything including conversations or and this caused me to starve myself everyday because I was afraid to eat in front of people. The frustration from not having the ability to do what everyone else can, and being completely overwhelmed by every small task lead to severe mental health issues, self-harm, low grades & inability to hold jobs. I was missed because I was a child who was quiet and not disruptive. I was sluggish and daydreamy rather than loud and hyperactive. Untreated ADHD leads to drug/alcohol abuse, other addiction, dropping out of school, instability in relationships, unemployment, and trouble with the law. It is not just a quirky personality trait the way movies make it seem.

I have noticed that the people who are against medication are the who don't have children with adhd.
I remember talking to a male who said that he doesn't believe in medication and has a nephew with adhd and who doesn't live with him and he doesn't take care of and he said he didn't like how the medication calmed him down.
Easy for him to say that.

My son doesn't have adhd. But from the time he opens his eyes til the time he LITERALLY just knocks out, he doesnt stop moving or talking hahaha. Some would say this is adhd. Id say this is the life of a young boy. Schedules and guidance works miracles.. Also so does counting to 3, and on 3 putting them in bed and walking away. Very rarely will I get to three.. On the "thr..." My son listens lol.

      How old is he

    • @blue.orangeade
      @blue.orangeade 2 роки тому +3

Thats from "time to time". What differs a normal child and a child with ADHD is the severity and frequency of the symptoms (and neurological/developmental differences). The behaviour you're describing can be typical for normal kids who are very young, especially in boys. And when I was a kid with ADHD, putting me in bed never worked like that. Getting to bed rarely ever works with ADHD.
So yes, your child definitely doesn't have ADHD, and no one, especially not a reasonable psychiatrist, would say this is ADHD. People with ADHD have real struggles so it is not all "misdiagnosis" or in our head, and it continues on into adulthood most of the time.

I always knew I was different from the other kids growing up because they made sure that I knew by treating me differently. I spend most of my childhood watching other people have close friendships and relationships with me excluded. By the time I was in my 20's I basically gave up trying to fit in and watched people come and go in frustration of my 'odd' behaviour. At one time I actually thought I was insane. I'm now 55 years old and have been diagnosed with adult ADHD for the past decade. I've never taken medication for ADD. Recently I removed all wheat, gluten, grains and corn from diet and now, after approx 2 months, I feel like a different person. I actually sleep at night now, I wake rested, the fidgeting and racing brain has stopped and I feel amazing. The off shooting symptoms of depression, anxiety and chronic fatigue (as diagnosed) have also all but disappeared. I recommend trying this diet change to everyone who suffers from ADD/ADHD as well as any other sudden mental illness affliction. Removing these foods from your diet takes a big commitment but imo is 100% worth the sacrifice....especially given what my 'life' was like before.

FYI, ADHD symptoms is also dependent on the environment of the person. ADHD doesn't mean they'll NEVER sit still. Because there are specific moments where they'll be able to focus. And that's when they're in front of something they like or that is interesting or challenging, or see someone/something new. Because all of that increases your dopamine level, that increases focus and decreases your hyperactivity.

Im a firm believer that the kids are just fine, is the school system that has made children frustrated expecting them to be still for hours in a boring lecture of how to pass standardized state tests and to complete a lot of homework. Kids get bored, even I as an adult would start getting anxious if the lectures are boring and long. Im sorrry but kids are built to be active and to learn by doing exciting projects and explore beyond a traditional classroom with so much work. Kids can have fun and learn at the same time. This ADHD diagnosis it may be true but kids dont need to be zombies with meds to be a "normal" kid. These kids need to be understood and need a learning environment for them. They are smart and active. They need stimulation with learning methods that are just for them. The side effects that come with the ADHD meda are so bad. Idk how they can say it worka well. There hasn't been one adhd med that has not made the child have side effects to the point they have to stop the med slowly or they have to start another one again. Academic accommodations and therapy would the best option in my personal opinion.

Why we have so many ADHD in USA? Because teachers want convenient kids: don’t move, don’t talk, don’t argue. They don’t want to make an effort and try to use individual approach , rather to label, diagnose and medicate all kids… easy to control… To kill beautiful spirit of free and natural kid… May be they just overwhelmed by amount of kids they need to teach. I’m not talking about severe cases of ADHD. This diagnosis still inaccurate if mild or even moderate.

ADHD is not only having difficulty in finishing school work or homework independently or during instructed time. My son is diagnosed with ADHD, it also comes with difficulty in following rules or regulations, getting along with others, way too much talking, not patient waiting for his turn and etc. I believe earlier diagnose with all possible treatment can be very helpful in minimizing the negative impacts on child. Medication should not be ruled out without even wanting a trial.
It will be a difficult long pathway down to the road because ADHD children can be very creative, energetic and lively but they usually are hard to stick to the end. As a ADHD parent, I am just trying to be patient and positive about my child, and be there when he needs support.

ADHD is very much real but you're right. I'm very careful how I word my sentences about my son to his psychiatrist as he's sitting right there. I wish he did not have to be there listening to it all. Kids will act out what is said about them, even if what is being said is true. An ADHD case in a child can turn into them acting these ways on purpose while it's also an out of control disorder at the same time. I also don't agree with kids having to sit through these conversations because they've got to feel like failures, like they're bad people. And on that note I'm bringing ear phones for my child to his next appt and he can take them out if the psychiatrist wants to speak with him.

I usually get distracted by making up stories in my head in class. (i’m being tested for ADHD) I make them up and pretend like it happened to me. I do it at night too. I talk to myself but like mouth the words. I pretend i’m a youtuber telling a story about my bullies as a kid, i pretend i am a kid with cancer telling my story of how i survived or sometimes i pretend that i’m telling a story of a school shooter or a murderer who came in my school. No of these things (Bullying too, i was never bullied just made fun of once or twice but not bullying) have every happened to me, although i tell them like there real. Half the time i get distracted in these stories and start rambling in my head about another thing that’s never happened to me. Sometimes when i’m distracted it’s by something in a UA-cam video, like something normal but with a weird shape, and i image why it looked like that, “Wonder why they made the pillow look like that, maybe it’s more comfy that way? Or maybe it’s made for your back, yes, it’s probably made for your back so you can lay more comfortably”
This is what goes on in my head.

I had ADHD all my life, I never took medication below the age of 21. I graduated high school with a 4.0 and a full scholarship to a private university. Children do not need medication that young! I'm glad my parents didn't let them put me on medication. One time doing Lyft, my passengers were a mother and her child. She was arguing with the school office because they wouldn't let her walk her daughter inside the school on her first day of middle school. She kept saying, my daughter has ADHD she'll get lost, she can't read the schedule, she'll get distracted. Meanwhile the daughter kept saying stop mom, she was clearly embarrassed. Prior to that phone call, they were having a conversation and her daughter was alert and responsive. It really pissed me off how that women used her daughter's adhd as a form to make her seem like she was mentally delayed or retard.

In the United States millions of children are diagnosed annually with a mental illness. According to the Mayo Clinic, in a report published by United press international, as high as 88% of patients who seek a second medical opinion, receive a different diagnosis.
Dr. Leon Eisenburg was one of the most famous neurologists in the world. He was one of the first to advocate major research studies on children’s developmental problems, like ADHD and autism. Some even identify him as the “inventor” or “founding father” of ADHD.
On his deathbed, in 2009, when he was 87 years old, he admitted his belief that, “ADHD is a prime example of a fictitious disease.”
ADHD is fraud intended to justify starting children on a life of drug addiction.
Yet the symptoms are all lumped together and labeled as one big fake disorder helping the pharmaceutical company earn billions while sacrificing the health of our kids. The diagnosis of mental illness in children is far from an exact science. Modern psychiatry has expanded its reach to the point that even the most normal of emotions and mental states are now labeled as one disorder or another. In many cases, a child who is labeled with “disorder“, such as ADHD is based on subjective observations of behaviors that nearly all children exhibit at sometime or another, such as excessive fidgeting or becoming angry after losing a game. Many youngsters are hyperactive or even out of control, which may simply be due to too much sugar.
Some key questions would be: -Are children medicated for convenience, or necessity?
-What happens to children when they’re medicated at a very young age, during some key formative years?
-Do they grow up never knowing who they really are?
-What passions might they have developed where it not for the drugs influence?
There is a fine line between ordinary bad behavior and pathology which poses the question of whether the latest drugs are taking the place of “good old fashioned parenting“.
The long-term effects of psychotropic drugs on children are largely unknown.
According to IMS health, an American company that provides information and the largest vendor of US prescribing data, sales of antipsychotic drugs for children have nearly tripled since 2008.
In four years sales of these drugs have grown by 89%.
In 2018 and estimated 14 billion was spent on antipsychotics in the US.
Foster children are prescribed drugs at a rate 12 times higher than any other children on Medicaid. A direct result of drug company tactics that target doctors in the Medicaid program, influencing them to prescribe more drugs to this population.
Public schools have financial incentive to diagnose your children with aDHD.
Since 1991, the Department of education provides $400 in grant money every year for each child diagnosed and prescribed medication.
Today, more than 8 million children have been labeled and registered as permanent patients off the school system.
According to the drug enforcement agency, all ADHD drugs are controlled substances, because they are indeed powerful, mind altering, hard-core drugs that can lead to dependency.
Patents should be cautious of medical misdiagnosis.

Don't put your kids on drugs for this. Be patient, help them learn and they will overcome it. If it's being recommended by the childs teacher, it's for their benefit. Hi, i may be able to help, sorry for late reply, i see you are active on your channel so thats why i responded, anyways if your having those "addictions" its what your eating, and drinking thats doing it to you, for example caffeine as great as it is, it actually strips the brain of amino acids, and weakens the organs if your low on amino acids you will experience symptoms of ADD, or crave caffeine, drugs, or tobacco or other things to stimulate you.
If your interested in changing how you feel i can recommend a few amino acids you can start with, your brain needs these anyways.
To start with you'll want the following:
      DLPA (DL-Phenylalanine)
      Tryptophan
      Tyrosine
if you want to further educate yourself on changing your mood and outlook i highly recommend buying this book:

Yeah the medication thing does not work on all kids. My son has tried so many prescriptions and they only make things worse. starts acting even more impulsive. Rolling on the floor, pica, suicidal thoughts/speech, incoherent noises. And some of these additional tips are laughable in my situation too. Preferential seating at school?: he’s just going to get up and run around the class no matter where you sit him.

She should watch his behavior and focus carefully to make sure that he actually has ADHD and is not just a hyper 6 year old boy.
