  • Howdy Happy Campers,
    This video is for anyone who wants to make it easy peasy for themselves when going down under the hood. Instead of using the OEM hood lift supports, give this baby a try. Made for the Toyota Rav4 and as you will see, fits and works just fine on my 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime. Engine Hood Lift Support Shock Strut Damper for Toyota RAV4. If you even get under the hood of your car once or even twice a month, then make it easy on yourself. $38, easy to install and if you think about it, frees up some workspace making it better to maneuver around the engine area without having to worry about that OEM hood support being propped up and in your way.

      Good and you're welcome. Way better in my opinion than propping the hood up everytime. Let me know if you have problems installing it. Take care and stay safe.

    Thank you sir. Just got mine today. I really hate the hoods use that one support form Toyota.
    BTW is saw you kept your engine hood interior out of dust. How do you clean it?

      You are most welcome. Always glad to share. Yeah..not cost effective for Toyota to put hood struts on each of their vehicles.... And keeping the engine bay clean??? Several ways to do it really. Just depends on YOUR level of.... tolerance. What I mean is as I showed on one of my videos...you can hose it down with a garden hose and then blow dry it with a leaf blower. Or simply blow the dust off there with the leaf blower. Or as I have done at times, spray ...get this... tire foam cleaner, no specific brand any will do the trick (those lifts the dirt off the surfaces pretty good off tires and top engine components) then either blow it off or wipe it dry. I myself, switch back and forth between all of them, depending on how much time I have and the weather. If it's mainly dust that you are worried about...then my suggestion is to blow them off there...ONCE a week...so that they don't accumulate too much and easier to get the dust off and that should do the trick.....That's about it. Take care and stay safe.

    On your Amazon link it says it fits 2019-2020 RAV4. Will it fit my 2021 RAV4 prime XLE?

    • @jt2quick
      @jt2quick  Рік тому +1

      Howdy. I can tell you with 95% certainty that IT WILL FIT. Reasoning? Mine is a Prime SE, yours is a Prime XSE? Look at the pics of the Hood Brackets and you'll see that they should be all the same. Also remember with Amazon...you can always return the product if you change your mind. But I'm pretty sure that it will fit and work on yours, if not.... Kindly post it below so that other people will know the outcome.
      Thanks. Take care and stay safe.

    I wonder why Toyota doesn't design it that way? Is it possible it is not as safe?

    • @jt2quick
      @jt2quick  Рік тому +1

      Because it's just how they are designed. For practicality and simplicity. Simple and faster to install hood props than wasting the assembly line with hood struts. Well..that's my 2 cents worth anyways.

      They save them for Lexus. You won’t find a manual hood support on a Lexus.

    When I let gravity close my hood for me, I keep my dirty greasy fingerprints off the top of my shiny clean hood, saving time, money, and inevitable frustration installing aftermarket struts.
