- Reading correct draft is very important as all the calculations for cargo and stability done on ship as per the draft.
Draft means how much our ship or vessel is sunk in water.
Draft = distance from keel to water line.
This can be read from the markings on ship side forward, Aft and AT midship on both side of the ship.

Bro you don't have to do that because that what for the draft marks are given, and nowadays you have gauges provided on ships to read the draft from cargo control room only. Thanks to latest technology.
