Just did mine. The stock shafts and the ones I used have two recessed holes for the crossmember rivets to align with. Also the Gm shop manual calls for 140 ftlbs on the 1 5/8 nuts.

When do you torque the end caps ? After you put the control arm back on the frame or before
What ever is easiest, it may be easier on the frame so you dont have to hold it. I did it in my vice and it was tough to hold.
