Great choice - the Fleur is a lively pattern and seems to work for all! I think it’s a brilliant choice for your challis fabric. It looks so swishy in viscose. Your Judy is beautiful. Love your makes 😘😘
Hi, new subscriber here. I agree with your comments about the neckline, I would feel the same. I also knit and some necklines lie like this and I never wear them so chalk it up to experience. I am enjoying your content (sewing for 50 years and still learning) Sue ❤
Hi Alison, great video, I had the exact same thought about doubling up on the placket and adding buttons to my next Fleur-I’ll be interested to see how yours turns out.
I think the neck is back to front revisit the pattern pieces especially now as you have shown the line drawings. It’s a shame if it’s correct but think we all have made something that never gets worn. Best wishes from Portugal
Although sad when a make doesn’t meet you expectations it’s really satisfying when you get to turn it around by creating something else from it 😊I like that you got straight on to it and I look forward to seeing it
I agree there was something strange going on with the neckline on the first dress. I just knew you would figure out how to save the fabric. And the second dress is perfect. I have wedding dress alterations to finish for one client and a hem to put in a mother of the groom dress, so no personal sewing. I'm hoping to organize one more shelf of fabric, again wrapping the fabric around cardboard. Thanks to you, my fabric is so much more organized.
Hi Alison! I just had a top I made that I stopped and gave up on it because I knew I would not pull to wear it. It really disappointed me and kind of knocked me out. I don't have anything that I can make quickly. I don't have any quick win patterns yet.
Hi Alison, what a shame about your Karlene dress but like you say you wouldn’t reach for it and you will have another fabulous Fleur dress. Your new Judy dress is beautiful, what a gorgeous fabric. I’m really interested in how you’re going to hack the Fleur pattern. ❤❤
Can you remove that neck piece and turn it in underneath as a channel for some elastic... So it would be much lower but could be an off the shoulder number?
Hi Alison. I have this issue with some makes - and I have just done a round shoulder adjustment on a blouse I have previously made, but really like so making it again. I love how you have immediately repurposed - I usually get disheartened and put it in a pile to look at some time later.
Perhaps removed the neckband and re cut in a solid black, BUT do a forward shoulder adjustment and perhaps lower the front neckline at center. Just an idea.
@@JoyceWood-d2h definitely wasn’t I checked the back yoke several times and sewed the label on before I attached it to the dress- it just wasn’t right but now it’s going to be a Fleur 🤞
Shame about the Karlene but what a win to get another Fleur! (I finally caved and bought the pattern). Interesting that you compared the Karlene with the Davenport. I gave my Davenport away as the proportions felt so uncomfortable on me - the body felt too big for the yoke section. I was upset as the fabric I used was gorgeous. The new Judy is fabulous. Enjoy your dancing and Happy Sewing 😊. Lynne
W How sad about your dress but it was not hanging right on your shoulders. I’m glad you didn’t proceed with it. The pattern was all wrong. Neck seemed to high. I’m sure it will look better second time around.

I love that you’re up cycling your previous makes. I also loved seeing the Judy dress in person it really did suit you . The fabric was lovely. x
Thank you Nova x
Fun Judy dress!!!😅
Thanks Karol

Thanks for subbing Sue- sometimes we just need to know when something isn’t right for us and trust our gut feeling I think
Your new Judy is fab and I just love how you turn around immediately a make that you know you are not going to wear. Inspired by that Alison. XXX
I think if I had put it away it would have just sat there & eventually gone in the bin

🤞🤞🤞
Hi Alison I love how you have a sewing no no and you turn it into a sewing yes yes 🥰
Enjoy your disco it sounds a lot of fun 🥰
Thank you so much Lynne x
Im glad you've reused the fabric because i really liked it on you! I think the pattern drafting on the other dress is just off.
Yes I think so too normally Fibre Mood patterns are spot on for me
I really admire how you take garments you’re not pleased with and upcycle them into ones you love, Allison! 😘
Oh thank you Lynn 🤞 it works out
Top marks for upcycling and looking fab in the latest Judy Alison 💃
Thank you 😀
That dress its stunning well done.

That precious fabric dress is just perfect. Really suits you. Good luck repurposing the Karlene - agree it just didn't work on you.
Fingers crossed!

Had to or it would have gone in the bin 🤦♀️

Wow you’re so clever doing bridal alterations - no way would I dare to. Had a bit of a fabric sort out yesterday it’s so refreshing

It’s gutting isn’t it . Maybe you will get some inspiration 🤞
Love your latest Judy, gorgeous fabric 😍
Thank you! 😊
Really love 💕 the fabric!!! Neck yoke is uncomfortable 😮
It really is! Pleased I’ve changed it

It’s chopped up and ready to be a Fleur dress now - it wasn’t meant to be
Do you have have the yolk back to front? That is what it looked like ,from the first view. Very frustrating.bac. 8:24
No I checked several times and put a label in your make sure I knew which was the back- just wasn’t meant to be
What a shame about your dress but I love how you immediately utilise the fabric to make something else with it. Fleur for the win 😍
Thank you! 😊

I don’t think it would have been an easy adjustment on this one - think it wasn’t meant to be

I use bra bands at shoulder because I’m round shouldered. Hate dresses that don’t stay put
Me too
I think the dress may be on backwards?
@@JoyceWood-d2h definitely wasn’t I checked the back yoke several times and sewed the label on before I attached it to the dress- it just wasn’t right but now it’s going to be a Fleur 🤞
Is it on back to front???? Yes neck is not right on you.
No I checked carefully- it just wasn’t meant to be

I think I’m a fabric rescuer 😂
Lovely material, shame about the fit. It might just be the yoke being possible back to front? Inge
No I checked carefully and added the label so I knew which was which just wasn’t meant to be 🤦♀️
