I just finished watching your lovely, cozy video. It’s been hard day here in the US, after our contentious election. It was just what I needed, slow making, cozy and filled with lovely makes! Thanks for making my day so much more tolerable and brighter, emphasizing the important things in day to day life. 😊
Sending lots of love at such a troubling time. Many in the UK have been worried for you, and also for the world. I'm glad the video brought some hope and comfort for you 🕯🧡
@ Thank you for your support! So many of us are shocked and saddened and frankly, embarrassed. Hopefully things will turn out ok, but we are scared also. That’s why making is so therapeutic, especially with this wonderful world community of peace and love! 💕
I have just found you on UA-cam and I am so pleased. You are inspiring and I love your style. I am quite old but I still want to look interesting and as a spinner, felter and sometimes weaver I enjoy seeing how people have developed their style and skills. Thank you , I look forward to watching you regularly.😊
I have just stumbled across your podcast. It’s so refreshing to see the slow fashion and natural fibres you make and wear. The planet would be a lot happier if everyone had the same values and lifestyle. I will certainly be looking through your past podcasts. Thank you 🙏
Hello Lorna, another lovely, calming video. You remind me of what’s important in the every day madness of life. I’m watching whilst knitting in bed after a stressful day caring for elderly parents. A little bit of therapeutic ‘me’ time. Please do continue making great content 😊 x
Thank you Philippa, that's lovely that it's brought you a bit of calm and me time. I'm sorry you had a difficult day, but pleased you found a moment for yourself to do something calming and lovely ☺️
Hello Lorna. The reason most of us watch your videos is because they are so interesting with all the crafts we love, and done in a lovely calm way. I so look forward to your videos. What is actually normal is considered slow by some people because we are so used to the frantic rush on TV and social media these days. I’ve heard other UA-camrs say that they have received really upsetting and personal comments and have nearly decided to stop their channels. Please don’t ever stop because of these ignorant people. XXX
Hi Lorna I just found your cozy corner of youtube and found this video so much fun. Can't wait to look back on some of your older videos. Thanks for sharing
I love all your videos, they really inspire me to get working on my knitting and sewing, spinning and dying as well. I tried growing indigo this year, just brought my plant indoors for the winter, we'll see how it does. I love that you know the color pallet you love. That's a hard one for many people. "Handmade" has had such a bad reputation, but I'm so thrilled that folks are rejecting that and showing that clothes can be handmade and look even better than mass produced items. Please keep doing what you are doing!
Thanks for comment, Patti, that was really lovely to read. I'm going to have more of a go at growing indigo next year, I just ran out of time to process the leaves before they started flowering this year, but fun to try and I will save their seeds :) enjoy all of your lovely projects 😊
First time finding your channel and I really loved it. I live in the US and although I'm retired, I still can't live a slow, thoughtful life. We still have many places we have to be. We pick up grandchildren from school, watch them do their sports, etc. so I'm so glad when I run across a channel like yours. Thank you for sharing your week with us.
Hello Lorna, I really enjoy your podcast and so relatable 😊 I’m so saddened to hear people feel the need to leave negative hurtful comments. I look forward to hearing all about your knitting retreat! 🥰
Hi, you look lovely in your handmade clothes, you have chosen a colour pallet that suits you and a style that is great for the lifestyle you live, not many people can do this, you're amazing, I'm jealous to be honest with you, sending hugs ❤
Thank you, that's so kind. I think filming these videos has really helped, because I can see myself next to the fabrics and I also reflect on my makes a lot! Sending hugs back 🤗
Hi Lorna! I've been a viewer for a while but have watched many of your videos particularly in the past few days. I love your energy and makes and am very inspired and comforted by your content which is much needed right now. Love from the US
I'm so glad you enjoy them, and that they're bringing you some comfort. I'm so sorry for what's going on in the US. Shocked over here too and thinking of you all. Sending love x
@@threadandyarn it means a lot to have the support of sisters overseas and all around the world. Have to believe that theres hope for women, etc. in the future still. thank you Lorna, you're simply lovely and will be playing in the background today as I enjoy therapeutic sewing and knitting.
I’ve just found your channel and really enjoyed this episode. I like to see repeat outfits, I feel it’s much more relatable to how many people dress. I’m wanting lots of vests at the moment.
I really liked your visible mending video, it helped me find the momentum to do my own mending. I wanted to do it for a while and needed a little push. Thank you so much
Hi, I’m new to your channel. What a lovely episode. I’m in my 60’s and would love to have a (mostly) handmade wardrobe. You have such practical yet lovely makes that I am encouraged to get back in the sewing room and put some effort into making things fit. I love to knit but do find that I don’t need a perpetual round of new knits. Sewing some merino tops would be a great addition. Thank you for the encouragement!
That was such a lovely video. It was great seeing your outfits and they are just the sort of things I love to wear - lots of layers that can be swapped around. Your outfits are practical, comfortable and gorgeous colours. You did inspire me to make more knitted vests. Keep making the videos please 😊
I love your videos, they bring me peace and inspire me 🥰. I have added the holiday slip over to my pattern wish list, it’s really lovely. Thank you for all your content!
Hi Lorna, you are such an inspiration, I love all ur videos. They are very calming. Your sewing and knitting is fabulous. I love the colours of ur dyed yarn. Take care lovely lady xxxxxx
Loved this video, I find your videos so relaxing! I was feeling a bit stressy with a headache before I started watching and then sitting watching your video with some knitting has made it go away:) Thanks so much for making your videos, they're so inspiring and calming! Hey Rosa, glad you enjoyed it! Sorry you weren't feeling great before, I get like that too and I just need to sit down and take myself out of whatever is going on, so I'm glad this was able to help you feel a bit of calm and reset, that's so lovely. I love UA-cam for that reason too. I don't even use instagram or TikTok anymore. Don't listen to that Negative Nancy with their mean comment. They just weren't your people and good on them for moving on even if they could have left their comment unsaid
Thank you 😊 yes, it's not for everyone and that's ok! I find myself much more drawn to UA-cam rather than Instagram lately too. I tried tiktok briefly, but really didn't like it!
I prefer watching UA-cam videos too where you can appreciate the creator’s direction and storytelling. Is it just me, but i find 40 sec clips in shorts or Tik tok really annoying, I don’t see the need to speak 120 words per minute to get your message across. Yes for this reason, I love watching your videos and marvel at your wonderful makes….slowly!!
Why don't you add elastic to the back of the dungarees? It would hold them closer in the back, which is where the looseness originates. If you don't adjust the straps, you could sew them onto the bib in the front and the dungarees will feel a little more like a jumpsuit. Don't worry about the Debbie Downers. Life online has created anonymity at the same time that parents have stopped teaching their children to keep their negative thoughts to themselves. Mending is a lost art. I've been sewing for over 60 years, and knowing how to sew makes me look at everything differently. I am more creative in every area because of sewing. Mending Matters by Latrina Rodabaugh is a great story and how-to on the subject. It is better to put the elastic in a channel, and maybe secure them at the quarter points, than to attach the elastic to the waistband. The latter is less flexible if you need to adjust the waist later.
Yes I totally agree on the way to insert elastic into a waistband. I think it's a much better approach. Good idea about adding elastic to the dungarees, I may try that! X
I’m so happy to have discovered your channel! Love your style and philosophy around slow making and living. I look forward to following you!

Thank you 😊 yes, I can't stand Tiktok, I want to relax and it feels like content overload! Glad you're enjoying the channel 🥰
