Yeah older rockers dont have the lungs & energy they had 30+ years earlier. Respect that they rock into old age, but… Listen to the original studio recording
FYI - The song is about the famous "Chicken Ranch". The Chicken Ranch was an illegal brothel in the great state of Texas that operated from 1905 until 1973 in Fayette County, about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east of downtown La Grange. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is a movie (a musical) about the Chicken Ranch that starred Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds. I went there with two older buddies in 1969. They were old enough to gain entry...I had to wait in the parking lot. It was a very long ride home for me, a 16 year old virgin at the time. As it turned out, that was as close as I ever got to a whorehouse...the parking lot! LOL Be well, Duke
My mother's family had a farm about a mile from the Chicken ranch. When I did the genealogy on my family, I wondered why my grandmother's brothers didn't get married until their thirties, then I found how close the farm was to the ranch-that solved that mystery.
All of us from Texas know this is about the The Chicken Ranch in La Grange...."you know what I'm talkin' about". Filmed in Gruene Hall, the oldest Dance Hall in Texas.
Just remember: it was just three guys who gave you a full, rich, thick, groovy sound of a band with many more members. They were doing that for literally decades. Awesome little band from Texas.
Fun Fact: Jimi Hendrix, back in the '60s, went on record to say that Billy Gibbons was the best up-an-coming guitarist of the time. Also, RIP to bassist Dusty Hill, he was integral to ZZ Top's sound and his too infrequent vocals had real impact. Their early albums laid the groundwork for their 50 year run and "La Grange" was one of their first big hits. One of many.
Spot On man, they made me a fan the first time I saw them, in 1973 on the Tres Hombres tour, they killed it and opened for Uhriah Heep! What a concert!!!
ZZ Top have such a groove it's unbelievable. If you like harder stuff, Just Got Paid or Cheap Sunglasses. If you like the blues, Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell and Fool For Your Stockings are bangers.
They recorded their first album in my former hometown where I grew up (Tyler Texas) in 1969 at Robin Hood Bryan studios if I remember right (from the album jacket). I was backstage with them, Gary Moore, and Heart way back in the day (1980 or so)...around the first or second time I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn. Lucky enough to see them many times in concert.
Saw them 5 times. First time 1975. Frothworth. The 76 world tour. They had a big white bull and a long horn steer and a buzzard and a lizard on stage while they were playing. Fandango half the album is live. Stay well and groovy my friend. Texas
I saw the band. I saw the song title. I wait with a massive smile on my face knowing the patented Aileen excited "babble" is coming with this one! My joy made even more special just watching and listening to your ZZ Top enthrallment. Welcome to club, dear Aileen. The way your face and smile start lighting up not even 10 seconds into the song and just how you’re grooving to the song too, Mi Amore 🥹🖤 His beard is such goals like 🙂↕️
there is a story i read in that in 1966 someone asked Jimi Hendryx about being the best guitarist, and he told the interviewer to ask Billy Gibbons, this is when Gibbons was playing with the Moving Sidewalks
I went to their first concert after Dusty Hill passed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Going to their concert in Montgomery in March, 3rd row. When i was growing up these guys ruled.
I’ve been lucky enough to experience ZZTOP’s live performances on seven different occasions. Great live band, and Billy F. Gibbons is truly one of the greatest rock guitarists to ever play. Rock on Frank and Billy, and RIP Dusty Hill. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

Grezt reaction. Thank you! I saw in 1991 with my buddy Vinny and his brother Vince. All night we kept waiting for this song singing how how how how. The set ended without hearing it. Then they came back for an encore. We sang how how how how. 3 or 4 songs later they left the stage, no La Grange. Then, a second encore. How how how how. 2 or 3 songs later. No La Grange. After an eternity of clapping and hiping theyd come back. Finally, they came back and ended the night with La Grange. The whole arena went nuts, including myself and the 2 Vinnys

I love ZZ Top! My parents listened to them while I was a kid in the 80’s. RIP Dusty Hill. Isn’t it ironic that the drummer, Frank Beard is the only member without a beard?’ Lol. This music makes me wanna go to a dive bar in southern Texas and drink Tequila! You should react to Tito and Tarantula! They put off a similar vibe.
Hi Aileen! Greetings from Brasil! Two best things in the world: Good music and nice people. ZZ Top and you. There is no better combo! Thank You for share another ZZ Top react. Cheers!
ZZ top can play different kinds of music including some blue's songs and have a wonderful day and another great song by zztop is "you got me under pressure"
Love 'La Grange'! As an Army of ONE, I'm still waiting to hear and see you review Grand Funk's "Inside, Lookin' Out" I think you are going to love it. It's best live and one of the best lives is 1969.
Can't go wrong with zz top ever! One of my fave old school rock bands. You'll have a great time listening to any of their songs. Side note u look breathtaking as always aileen ❤❤ love u to no end
Saw them live in London in the summer and saw Billy Gibbons solo last year too. Still got it! I absolutely love the version of La Grange Billy played with Slash on Slash’s birthday. It is on youtube!
Saw them live twice, twenty years ago or so and they were amazing and looking like they were having a lot of fun. Iconic band, hard not to love them, as you say, when they look so cool and like they're meant to play together and enjoy it so much. 'Pincushion' would be another fun hit you may want to check from them.
When you get a chance you should check out their performance on the Howard Stern Show. I love that version they did on the show. They have this lil ad lib where Dusty says, "Feels Good!" & then Dusty & Billy both go "Hell Yeah!!!".
Awesome video 🔥🔥🔥 ZZ Top has been a huge favorite of mine for a long time. Seeing them live was an experience. You need to go deeper into their catalog. Some really great songs
what i always liked about ZZ top for only being a three piece band. The sound is amazing, and they just like to jam out. I listen to ZZ Top if I am feeling down, and once I hear the guitar and a funky bass line, I instantly feel better. to me that is what good music supposed to do. ❤ love the reaction
"I've never seen so much pure joy. They look so happy!" Aileen, you look pretty happy, too. 🤩❤ And you're right... they do look cute. I blame ZZ Top for my gnome addiction. They're awesome, just like you.
Going down the ZZ-Top rabbit hole will expose you to one of the BEST "blues guitar influence" you've ever heard. Because Billy Gibbons on that guitar will constantly shock you with his rock/blues groves on basically every track.
So it should be said: The song is about a brothel outside La Grange, Texas, best known as The Chicken Ranch. It's the same...institution that was the focus of the Broadway play and musical film (the latter starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds) The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.
"La Grange" is a song by the American rock group ZZ Top, from their 1973 album Tres Hombres. One of ZZ Top's most successful songs, it was released as a single in 1973 and received extensive radio play, rising to No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1974. The song’s title and lyrics refer to a brothel on the outskirts of La Grange, Texas (later called the "Chicken Ranch"). The brothel is also the subject of the Broadway play and film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

No one who likes a good groove has ever been disappointed by ZZ Top!
Billy Gibbons turned 75 yesterday and he's still rocking out!
Fun fact. The drummers name is "Frank Beard", and he's the only member in the band who doesn't have one. 😄
Ha always thought that was funny .
He was also the only member with a heroin addiction from early on.
True story
LOL, there is a Barenaked Ladies song with that reference.
Frank is all beard.
Three beards on a stage.
You will indeed enjoy the studio version just as much!
Yeah older rockers dont have the lungs & energy they had 30+ years earlier. Respect that they rock into old age, but… Listen to the original studio recording

RIP Dusty Hill amd thank you for all the years and the hundreds of fantastic memories.

Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell is SO good!
Just Got Paid is one of my all time very tracks, period. Absolutely killer!
Manic Mechanic is probably my fave ZZ Top tune.
My dad and I saw ZZ Top in concert last month. I recommend their songs “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Got Me Under Pressure” and “Tush”
Without Dusty there is no ZZ Top...IMHO. Be well
@@JooohnC Yep, just my opinion. Be well
I would recommend "Pearl Necklace", but I might get taken the wrong way!
Billy Gibbons is up there as one of my favorite guitarists of all time. The man radiates blues in everything he does.
I love how Billy used to describe ZZ Top: "Same three guys, same three chords." Also, RIP Dusty
