Great comparison, I love seeing these two great bags strengths and weaknesses side by side. I'd love to see a video like this between the CTB and a Tom Bihn bag like the Synik or Techonaught.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Great idea for a comparison with Tom Bihn, the synik and this one have some of the best organization on the market!
Does the GR2 come across as a smaller bag Danny? In terms of what it looks like on your back? I know you included comparison shots, but in person, which one is overall smaller in your opinion? On the GR2 the way the secondary compartment sticks out makes the bag look bulkier - seems like the GR2 is thicker at the bottom but the CTB is thicker at the top?
Thanks for the comparison. I've used the CTB26 for a couple of trips and wanted more space so I got a used GR2 34L. It's a little tall for my torso so I thought about unloading it and picking up a GR2 26L, but it doesn't look like it would offer a considerably different experience compared to the CTB26. Short people problems: if I cared about on-the-back aesthetics, I'd have to try to one-bag travel with a Goruck Echo or GR0... which isn't happening haha.
If the issue is due to how the CTB divides the 26L capacity, then consider the CHZ26. Fairly equivalent overall capacity, but the space in the CHZ26 is all in the single main compartment rather than divided up in various compartments/pockets like in the CTB26.
Thank you for watching! One bag travel in an echo would definitely be impressive! Haha for something shorter than the gr2 that still offers a good amount of space, might be worth taking a look at something like the matador seg28 or the Patagonia mini MLC
Because of the weight, the only heritage Goruck I'dconsidering is the GR1. For GR2, I'd have to try for xpac, just to save on that weight. I love me some water bottles though, so I'd prob lean CTB anyway. Gotta love the feel and look of waxed canvas and leather though, sometimes you want more than a black bag.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Yup I’ve been able to use both as a personal item without any issues so far, both are great definitely a tough choice!
Thank you for watching! It’s a fair concern and I was initially worried as well but I have fully packed it out and used it under the seat on spirit and easyjet comfortably
I wish I own a goruck but I don’t. I do own the Carryology CTB26 though and I have traveled with it overseas and my only complaint is the material for the back panel is not breathable. I often had to remove the bag due to being too hot/sweaty. That was the only fault. The bag met all my other needs better than any other bag I have ever owned. So even with the back panel heat issue, it is by far my favorite bag. Maybe I will be able to get a goruck some day, or maybe @DannyPacks wants to give me one 😂
As far as silouette, the GR2 tapers up, CTB tapers down. CTB looks like a travel bag. GR2 looks like an everyday bag. If i had to pickn one to do it all, I'd go GR2.
Thanks for making that comment about the bright orange Interior. I personally don't understand the appeal and much prefer a white or grey interior that's still equally as visible. How did orange become the norm? If it has to be colored, a golden yellow is way more pleasing to the eyes
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely been interesting to see orange and xpac become so intertwined, hopefully there’s a few additional options available in the future

I definitely go with GORUCK GR2 BACKPACK and especially the brown has a very sharp look.
Thank you for watching and I agree, really like the look of this Gr2! :)
Nice CTB26 all day sir. Own several backpacks of both brands but evergoods has something magical 🎉
Thank you for watching and I agree on the magic of the CTB26, so good!
Great job as always Danny! You and JB need to do a collab soon lol, great minds…
Thank you for watching and for the support! Loved JBs video and definitely hope to do some collabs in the future!
Btw I’m currently in an airport with my CTB26 watching this review loving it profusely LOL!
That’s great to hear! Such a great travel bag!
These are my 2 number one bags for EDC or personal travel pack. CTB35 is my fave travel pack for sure. But TD35 and CPL24 is a beautiful combo, too.
Thank you for watching and I agree on the CpL24, another great alternative!

@@dannypacks The matador seg28 is 20 inches tall... the GR2 26l is 18 inches.
Hey Danny, awesome video! I’d love to see a comparison between the CTB26 and the AER CPP!! I think these two are fairly similar.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Definitely some overlap between the two!

Thank you for watching and definitely a fair point on the weight! I would be curious to see a CTB in waxed canvas :)
Great comparison video Danny. So both bags work well as a personal item? I have both regular versions and debating on which to take. 😮
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Yup I’ve been able to use both as a personal item without any issues so far, both are great definitely a tough choice!
Great Review as always! When the GR2 is packed out does it still fit under the airplane seats? Maybe it’s just me but it feels like it might not.
Thank you for watching! It’s a fair concern and I was initially worried as well but I have fully packed it out and used it under the seat on spirit and easyjet comfortably
Did you and jb outside time those video releases together lol?
Thank you for watching and no it was totally coincidental! Haha really enjoyed seeing the comparison with the larger versions of these!
Great quality video
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)
The heritage is such a perfect bag.
Thank you for watching and I am also a huge fan of the bag!:)
Hope that soon we will see the full review
If the ctb came in 820d and mirrored I would have got that instead of the cpl.

Goruck are much warmer than Everboog :D
So weird. JB just released a video reviewing Evergoods CTB35 and Heritage GR2!!! Great video.
Thank you for watching and I saw that one too, really great video and big fan of JB :)

Agree. Tell that to Carryology though.
Thank you for watching! It’s definitely been interesting to see orange and xpac become so intertwined, hopefully there’s a few additional options available in the future
The goruck laptop compartment is THE BEST anti pick pocket area. They would have to remove the entire backpack off you to get into it!!!
That’s a good point, definitely feels more secure than some other laptop compartments I’ve seen!
@@dannypacks that's where I put my passport and very important stuff when traveling
The prices for these are ABSURD
GR2 is 545$😧
If only the GR2 26L is lighter...
Thank you for watching and I agree, it would nice for it to be a little lighter
