@@patricktracy1966 Jimi played in standard tuning. Many songs, he tuned a half step down. Some he didn’t. Live, he tuned a half step down to start, but because he was tuning by ear, they could end up standard, or off by a few cents +/-.
Message To Love, Ezy Ryder, Lover Man, Highway Chile, Love Or Confusion, Room Full Of Mirrors, May This Be Love, Killing Floor, Straight Ahead, Hear My Train A Comin', Hey Baby, Tax Free, Gypsy Eyes, In From The Storm... just to name a few more
What a brilliant, and non-obvious, selection. Loved the inclusion of "Like a Rolling Stone", "Long Hot Summer". "51st Anniversary", "Driving South" (the BBC Session version from the original release, is off the charts!), "Power of Soul" and "Castles Made of Sand"
Brilliant arrangement that really showcases Hendrix’s genius and your own talent and creativity. A couple of more nominations- Freedom and Wait Till Tomorrow
Fantastisch! Het valt me nu pas op hoeveel songs Jimi speelde in het lage register van zijn gitaar, bijna in het bas-gebied. Weer nieuw inzicht na al die jaren! We raken nooit uitgeluisterd. Perfect gespeeld!
why was Hendrix the greatest electric guitar player that ever lived??... young man you just showed us..nice job we never got to see and hear his full potential and look what he did and left us in just 4 short yrs. ..... If only..😪
There have been many really good guitarist since Hendrix, but none of them have so many classics in their catalogs, that is one of the reasons that till today Jimi is regarded a number one.
Most of these would be in my own top 35. Come On, Driving South and Pali Gap get too little love from many people, but they're great tracks. But I'm surprised you didn't have Hey, Baby. That's a fantastic showcase of a little bit of everything Hendrix did so well (Is the microphone on?). Well done for including 1983...A merman I should turn to be, because that with the Moon, Slowly, etc as side three of Electric Ladyland makes what I consider one of the finest sides of music ever recorded. Finally, I'm glad you included the Red House from Are You Experienced. Most Americans simply aren't familiar with it as it was dropped from the US version of AYE. Even though it's just' jam, I think that is three minutes and 44 seconds of perfection. What tone. What phrasing.
Absolutely outstanding….but my top thirty would have to include….Peace in Mississippi, Trashman, and the live version of Johnny B Goode from Hendrix in the West. Incredible playing.
Not just the right notes, in the right order, but so much the feel! Hours of study looming for me with this video! I'd love to see someone, Thom or The Vibratory, have a crack at "Knock Yourself Out" from the Curtis Knight and The Squires days. It's not as sophisticated as the later stuff, but it's so exuberant. Also, the "Are You Experienced" version of "Red House", with its swaggering solo.
Thats easy, Hear my Train a comin (electric) , Hey baby land of a new rising sun and to close, Freedom and In From the Storm. That's about it otherwise you would just keep going. Great pick by the way....
So fun to hear you play these!! Really shines the spotlight on the interesting variety of nuance that's tough to remember across all the recordings. Been a follower for a long time. You're CRAZY talented man! Cheers
Great playing! I would have loved to seen wait until tomorrow in there ( it’s my favourite Hendrix song since I was a kid) but all the same amazing video🔥
Excellent job superb..been a Hendrix fan since I was 14 years old(back in 1974😊)..it's up to you to play what you feel at the moment...but maybe if you do 2nd video..try Villanova Junction and Stars that play with laughing Sam dice ✌✌✌
Could be more songs than 35. Midnight Lightning from Isle of Wight, Message of Love, Sundance from Woodstock rehearsels, back on the dessert from Woodstock rehearsels, Are you Experienced, If six was nine, May this be Love, Night Bird, Nine to the Universe, Stars Spangled Banner, and many more. Hendrix had about 50 or more really fantastic sounds.also from the Best of Vol 1-3 there are many extraordinary songs.Hard to find songs that are not good, but I can think of at least one.
As a longtime Jimi Hendrix fan I love most of your choices the ones I would've picked are 1. House Burning Down. 2. Room Full Of Mirrors. 3. Hey Baby(New Rising Sun) 4. Hear My Train A Comin. 5. Are You Experienced. 6. I Don't Live Today. 7. In From The Storm 8. Trash Man. 9. Peace In Mississippi. 10. Still Raining Still Dreaming
One Rainy Wish, Up from the Skies, Hey Baby, Freedom, Gypsy Eyes, In from the storm. He was just brilliant. Great playing and solid list. I wish you hadn't only used the neck pick-up.
Some days i feel like playing yet i lack of motivation,so when i need an inspration i watch you play! Wish some day you will come to israel when things would be chilled and to see you play jimi stuff or yours, whteva you feel 😅
Had the honor of witnessing “The Great Man” a couple of times back in the day. As he pauses on the great stage in Rock & Roll Heaven, he glances down and nods a wink at you sir and begins a slow, soulful tune…in the rain…
Simply amazing brother! I just bought a Squire Strat & Positive Grid Spark 2. How can I learn Jimi songs like all you did? I’m grew up in the 60’s, and always wished to play lead guitar. God bless you and thank you for that!

Hey Pilgrim! What tuning are you using? Thanks.

The most amazing thing here is that Thom got all this down in one take!! No practice!! lol! Love that new military cut! Jim C.
when you need 35 songs to show the best of an artist it demonstrates how incredible and genius he was!
Bold as love is such a beautiful composition
Incredible how Hendrix came up with all these wonderful ideas
And within a span of nearly four years.
For a future video:
-Killing floor
-Ezy rider
-In from the storm
-Lover man
-message to love
Awesome as always!!!
Always precision and feel. This guy is a great guitarist😮
Freedom is a hell of a song as well, quite underrated. Hendrix music will remain forever.

Mate, Jimmy's spirit has gotten inside you!! Great!!
Jimi was beyond creative!

Wait till tomorrow, forgot about that one, that should have been in there
I suppose you could dedicate a video to that song alone 😉
Great job on just remembering all these tunes played consecutively!!

Tks and thumbs up, of course!
Thank you very much!!! keep going maestro 🙏

One rainy wish it’s a must. Glad to hear who knows in here. Love that riff 🤟🏻
That was very nice! One Rainy Wish is my favorite. I bet you could sing it!
There have been many really good guitarist since Hendrix, but none of them have so many classics in their catalogs, that is one of the reasons that till today Jimi is regarded a number one.
Great tone on that Strat neck pickup.
Top 35 Cream/Dereck and the dominos/Clapton songs!

Please, do a version for Clapton, BB king and SRV! I think it would be a great series for the channel!!

Yeah thanks dude very well done 👏 ✔️
beautiful playing! so inspiring
GJ and great tone!
I really would’ve put hey baby on here just because of the crazy vision Hendrix had for that song. The live versions of it are mesmerizing
Gypsy Eyes.
Such an elusive swing to it
What overdrive pedal do you use? Sounds very good and you keep the strat volume on 10.
My #1 Hendrix tune has to be Villanova Junction
Been working on that one since seeing the Woodstock movie in 1970!
Still haven’t gotten it
If you want Guit🎸ar Pilgrim to cover Pali Gap, please like 👍👍👍👍
Very nice man
Thats easy, Hear my Train a comin (electric) , Hey baby land of a new rising sun and to close, Freedom and In From the Storm. That's about it otherwise you would just keep going. Great pick by the way....

Excellent video- please repeat with 90 second excerpts from each song so that we can see how to play the differnt sections.
