Lyrics:
I've been trying
There's no denying
It's sending me
Out of my mind
I've seen reason
Change to treason
It's losing its sense
Of all kind
How much longer will it take
For the world to see
We should learn to live
And simply let it be
Bloodstone, bloodstone
In the night time
Wake in fright
I'm so scared of the game
That's being played
Start to wonder
What's going under
And how many deals
Have been made
How much longer will it take
For the world to see
We should learn to live
And simply let it be
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, bloodstone
Bloodstone, can't take can't take it.
Bloodstone, bloodstone
I don't want that bloodstone.
The echo effect when Rob sings BLOOOOODSTONE...is killer
Always loved that
The BLOODSTONE ONEE ONEee onee on... 😎
😂😂 It's is, your SPOT ON my friend!
Yes good production
I bought this album when I was 13 and it changed my world! I still love it today @51 years old. Rock on JP!
I was 12 had it on cassette listening to it all night till the break of dawn walking out in my town !!!! JP #1 !!!!
Me too was meant for you!
This was truly the Pinnacle of Judas Priest albums... 🤘 I too was born in 1970 so it was the perfect time for me and rockers alike... I was 12 years old when this album came out I love this album to this very day and
It is in my top 10 albums of all time my favorite songs...the title track screaming for vengeance also Devil's Child and Bloodstone the whole albums a Masterpiece there's not one bad song on the entire album although you've got another thing Comin with overplayed a bit but it still kicks ass nevertheless keep on rocking everybody that is reading this comment and playing this Killer music! 🤘🤘👍👍
Ditto I was 14..when I got the cassete..1983..love just as much today
Changed my life too man!!😁
Happy 40th Anniversary Screaming for Vengeance!
Best era of Priest in my opinion. They were at the pinnacle of their career. Rob’s voice never sounded better.
yes his vocals are god tier he is so underrated its ridiculous
Oh I couldn’t disagree more about his voice. Turbo tour he had the best voice ever, in my opinion.
Live in 86 was the best I think
british steel and screamin put them in first place of the metal world
@@phillipfry9765turbo was gay 😅 Johnny B good , please stop😮
The opening guitar into kicks ass!
thomas scoot Hell Yea!
thomas scoot Two of the best guitarist of all time!
Epic yes
this great art
What a underrated gem.
Absolutley Bloodsone
Always been one of my favorite tunes
I am so sick of people saying Judas Priest is the best heavy metal band blah blah blah etc... THEY ARE THE BEST MUSICAL GROUP OF ANY GENRE OF ALL TIME!
Better than The Beatles?
@@hansvandermeulen5515🫵🏻😆
Totally Correct ❤ I saw them at Tons Of Rock Festival this summer in Norway. The best gig i have ever been to. Rob was in awesome form . The rest too 🤟 2:52
this is why i m a old school metalhead .very nice
This is the best lineup. Absolute perfection. Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith are the best albums.
Priest are the best 80s Metal band 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Im happy I was an.80s kid. I was 11 in 1982 and absolutely listened to Judas Priest.
Dave Holland was not about fancy fills or big solid. He provided a rock solid bottom that elevated the whole band and made this band successful. Him and Phil Rudd from AC/DC always abided by this principle that’s why their bands are the best
Amen RIP Dave Holland🤘🤘
Those bands didn't succeed because their drummers were 'not fancy'...
@@Pikilloification well those bands were successful because of their sound of which the drummer is a huge part. Priest never sounded the same after DH left.
@@pietdijkman1980 agreed...he was and always will be the best drummer priest ever had and was there for all the MASSIVE priest albums and tours...i saw 4-5 tours with him ,all brilliant, all flawless....screamin>>>>>defenders>>>>turbo>>>>ram it down>>>>>
@Cody Ryan exactly. Without him, I don’t know what it would’ve been.
Man..... this had to be amazing to see in 82.
Yes it was amazing as 13 year old who had to sneak out with his buddy to see them as their first concert . A night we will never forget.
@@bigdave5946 I'm envious. It's a shame that no band (In my opinion) can match up to them.
I learned about Judas Priest at 14 when the Angel of Retribution Album came out checked out their music at the mall.
It was!!!!
@@bigdave5946me too. I fell off the roof. My brothers had to carry me in the concert. They got their ass torn off by dad the next day. 😂 Aww, it was worth it. Ill never forget it. "Neither will they" 🙄
@@jennifercox6158 great memories from the 80’s personally I think it was the best time to grow up in . Luckily me and my buddy didn’t get caught lol
Saw them in 1986 at War Memorial in Buffalo,NY. Saw Led Zeppelin at same venue in the 70's.I turn 70 in Septrmber.Long live rock!😎
Doug Seamans NIIICE!!!
Awesome brother
..😎
Lucky man wish i could but im 15
You _ROCK,_ man!! Happy 71st, Doug!
....though you may not get a notification of this...
Awesome 👍
Saw this same tour in Kalamazoo, Mi, I was 16, just got my drivers license, loaded up my car with friends and off we went. Man, do I miss those days.
Their is a reason Judas Priest is the greatest heavy metal band ever!
It’s cool seeing Rob in the background getting into the song at the beginning.
All hail the mighty Priest...
Damn!! To think I was just a teenager when this album came out. I remember yelling "Bloodstone" out the windows in my older brothers car while we were playing this as loud as it would go...some things we never forget.
Bought this album at Tower records when it was released. Drove straight home, put it on my stereo and proceeded to completely lose my sh*t. This wasn't and isn't your typical on-or-two decent songs and the rest "filler cuts" albums...this is a front to back in your face Heavy Metal Masterpiece, loaded with solid hooks, riffs, chop and grooves that make it a high on the list addition to any true Metal Head's collection. I'm in my 60's now and it's still my "go to" album when I need a mental lift and/or motivator when working out.
100% man! All killer, no filler.
Well said.
Yeah, I had just recently discovered Judas Priest when this album was released. It lived on my turntable for weeks afterward.
At your age use lighter weight but move them weights slower than slow, both directions. It'll super charge the muscle and not strain tendons. Plus, you'll be able to do your workout til your late 70's and maintain definition
Spot on. The record and tour simply could not be graded higher. Everything lined up for Priest at this point artistically and after 10 years of paying dues on the road, they storm Memphis knowing A list status was theirs for the taking.
This gem made me a Priest fan.
This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I can remember when I first heard the opening guitar riff, I don't think I left my room until I could play it. Oh how the late 70's/80'sgave us such great music.
The best metal band ever!
Glenn's tone is so dam good👍. Ive always liked this song.
After Screaming the guitar tones went downhill. Love DOTF & Painkiller, but the Hamer guitars lacked any warmth. Don’t get me wrong, they still sounded great but SFV is the pinnacle of tone.
I went to their British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance concerts in their prime 🤘❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘
One of their Best Songs ! My favorite Era of Priest
Dave Holland was never a metal drummer but he laid down some serious grooves for Priest. He gave their music a more "commercial" touch and this song proves that it really worked. Great performance.
So correct. Many Holland haters on here. He was a cool drummer. Yeah, Binks & Travis are more technical, but Holland had some serious groove and swing that those guys lack.
I prefer an in-the-pocket drummer that plays for the SONG over a million-fills-a-minute drummer with no swing any day of the week. Holland flat out kicked ass.
Holland era was by far the best, he NEVER overplayed the song and like you said he had a nasty grove and he and Ian were like a machine.. And for the record if you do research the boy and the mother came out and said it was all a lie, but the judge had it out for Holland and was going to convict him no matter what, KK talks about it in his book and an interview i saw where he and the rest of the band doubted the charges from the start but once the press got a hold of the story it was game over for Holland's career. I'll ALWAYS stand behind him RIP Dave Holland.
@@funkster007 Correct. Travises drumming is not as tasty as Holland's. Moreover Travis has serious problems with timing which Holland never had. People are so crazy for technical aspects that they don't notice so obvious flaws in Travises performance.
Yep. Just look at Rob's moves, epic.
This song is so underrated. It’s on a legendary album, but the lead single and the opener overshadow this classic. I personally think “Bloodstone” is the best track on the whole thing.
Couldn’t agree more! From the very beginning when I first bought the record back in the early 80s until the day I die, Bloodstone is my favorite track on Screaming For Vengeance. It’s pretty much a top five Priest song for me, period.
Fucking banger
Agreed. That intro. Man, it's something else
In their prime there was nobody better! Definitely the most important metal band
A textbook example of groovy drumming🏆
Pure awesomeness. Best heavy metal band to ever exist then and now.
Tipton: Best metal tone ever, true metal.
In 1983 when this aired on MTV for the first time, we had the TV ran through the stereo tower speakers, we blazed and rocked out just as if we were there. It was one the single best concert experiences I've ever had. Priest was at the top of their game and yet still underrated as being one of the most definitive metal band's of the genre, EVER!
The uncle of my friend, already in his late 50s, shook his head and said this is crap, this is just a bunch of noise! After a few songs and a couple bowls for him, he was froze into his rocking chair pumping his arms with his horns \m/ high!
When the show ended, we sat and tried to wrap our heads around what we had just watched, on MTV! None of us at that point had seen JP live.
The uncle after several minutes said, "do you know what just happened? " "Satan himself just sent his sons out of the depths of hell to play for us!" My friend and I both looked at his uncle with his glaring red eyes and held up our horns \m/!
I'm now 50 myself and I still watch and remember this like yesterday.
Priest fan for life!
Thanks for sharing that great memory!!
Awesome!! It was Satan it was the METAL GODS!!!!
That's an incredible story. What an awesome memory to share with everyone. Great song. Great performance. Great band.
This is such an amazing live version of Bloodstone.
Robs voice sounds just like studio it’s amazing
he had the moves, the look and the voice at this time, this is the rob halford that think of when i hear his name.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Probably the best concert ever! Lucky people.
Amen Buddy :)
I can vouch for that......add to that Defenders and Turbo. Awesome time to be alive. I saw all of those tours and a few after.
I saw them the night before in Nashville - this was an incredible tour.
That thing Dave does at 00:21....idk, it sounds so mystique, so amazing, so 80's.
This song should have been popular. It has a great groove, catchy chorus and a very unorthodox verse to keep it metal cool!
One of my personal favourites by Judas Priest :) Best Band Ever !!
I work at an Engineering firm, who is festooned on my walls, ...wife? nope. ROB is in FULL SCREAM from every tour...
2018 still screaming. Long live Rob.
I have had the police called on me for noise complaints three times in my life. EVERY time it was this concert!
LONG LIVE THE METAL GODS!
That bass playing is lovely.
This has always been one of my all-time favorite Priest songs - great riffs, great vocals, great drumming and great lyrics.
And Rob was pretty buff back in those days - lol
That intro. I just love it
Can't believe this shit is over 40 years old.
Judas
Fucking
Priest
Metal for life! 3:51
Mr. Dave Holland n°1 Drums the BEST, Judas Priest. R. I. P, LOVE YOU ❤️
ALL HAIL THE METAL GODS!!
THE MIGHTY JUDAS PRIEST
This riff is just killer!! One of my favorites by Priest!
One of the baddest James ever
Tipton was so cool!
This Judas Priest Concert is a Masterclass in Metal Excellence !!
Judas Priest is definitely in the top 3 Heavy Metal bands ever.. Bloodstone is fucking awesome...the whole album Bangs..
Got to see Priest 4 different times in San Antonio, the band was beloved in our city. The shows were epic. I’m 57 and still rock out to these guys. All time great. Metal gods
Same here! Next month will be #5!
@@johnnyosuna1699 that’s awesome bro!
Hell yeah!!! Got me through the hell that was high school. Classic metal!!!
My mate rang me up .
"I've got us tickets to see Priest at the Odeon!"
I had to pretend to be delighted ; all i listened to that year was Discharge and GBH . Big night comes, Priest step out and....damn , two minutes and i was converted ! They were awesome - so tight , clear and , by the standards of that time , fast and heavy . Every riff was perfect and Halford hit every note , unlike certain other screamers . Defenders Of The Faith indeed !
My babies!! Never let me down!!👍
My favourite Judas Priest track...!!!
They definitely shook up my mood 💀 long live preist, and my old ears.
I saw Judas Priest many times throughout their career and I would have to say that the 82 tour was the best. I've said it before and I will say it again if you got to grow up in the 50's through the 80's you were blessed!
You just violated the '"Heading Out To The Highway'- lyric copyright.
Awwhaw!! Me too. Getting old, but never too old for some Priest! 🤙
Nobody else can sing this...like he did
They were on fire 🔥
Legendary music, Legendary voice, Legendary Guitarists, & the outcome is a pure classical gems always come back to priest after listening to others, they can't be compared or replaced ever coz they are on another level.
Hail to the Gods of Metal!!🤘🤘
I remember buying the Screaming for Vengeance album when it came out once i put the needle on the vinyl album it was over I became a new fan and still today I am 🤘
Insane vocals by Rob. For me, the best Priest gig
The energy of this song is off the charts
Man these guys fuggin rocked.
this is a very energetic, iconic performance by judas priest in their prime era.
Best example of a heavy metal song in history. THE BEST.
2:00 🗣️🎤 Halford ultimate upper range wail!
*We should learn to live and simply let it BEEEEEEEEEEH!!*
Come here every once and then just to see Rob's amazing moves. I don't want to ever forget it.
About the same time I went to my first Priest concert in Germany!
Still a fan!
Great ole Tune ! ♦️
I would just like to say, screaming for vengeance was my first priest album, every song on it just kicks ass, and that started my journey of searching for all thier albums and right from thier first album to today 50 years of Judas priest is a landmark in itself, cheers Judas for making me a metal head just amazing band.
👍saw this tour at Arlington park racetrack in 82.first concert ever at 12 years old.😜
I first heard this album when I was 14 and it blew me away to another dimension, now at 54 I am still there blasting these songs everywhere I go for everyone to listen and know what real music is and used to be..!!
💥👊🏽
my favorite song on this album
All songs from this album are a success, nothing to throw!
I thought for a long time than the highlights of that legendary band were British Steel and Painkiller.
But boy, Screaming for Vengeance contains so many bangers that you simply cannot dismiss that album... I'd pop that sweet baby anytime.
Me too man 😊
The greatest! Long live priest! One of the greatest songs to ever be written.
Great Tune ! 🇺🇸 ♦️
Great singer.
That song showcases everything Judas priest has the offer ! ! ! It's what got me started in hard rock and there still is not a song better the Bloodstone !!!!
Priest in all their Might & Glory. My favourite off the Screaming For Vengeance album, what a hook!

Snowblind Black PRIEST!!!

Saw Priest for the first time at Wacken 2018, and they played this...was AWESOME!! And a REAL treat seeing Glenn Tipton play with them!! Video clip is on my husband's UA-cam channel 💀🖤💀🤘🤘🤘Priest RULE!!! 💀🖤💀🤘🤘🤘

Give it to me !!! Give it to me!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Man Judas can jam this is great God bless us all
K.K's Rowland Space Echo changed everything I ever knew about the limits of guitar solos. Amazing sound. Almost like a synth on the studio version.
Truly One Of The Best Judas Priest Tunes ! :) Utter Class !! Grooooove ;)
Best tour ever 🦅 night after this was Knoxville with DOKKEN 🤟🦅
OMG this is epic
They played this song on their latest tour, sounded phenomenal!
Fuck ya! Brought me back to my teenage years. I never Priest when they came by in the 80's.
Fuck yeah! We all were truly blessed to have had this music growing up! 80s metal 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
I recorded this concert on MTV, I think it was 82 or 83 ( the concert was in 82 ) one of my all time favorites still haved on VHS format, yes
Me too! its got lines and snow all over it but its locked in a safe! God how I remember when they announced on MTV it was gonna air that Saturday night! What a long week! Waiting, waiting waiting. We have it so damn easy now, click and wow, click, and saved to a device...
Dude, I got this on a Betamax tape! LOL. My Dad recorded it for me. This recording changed and shaped my life at the time.
You two get this converted asap damn it! 😀
I saw this tour live in Sacramento. Also Defenders and Turbo. A few more later on too. Always badass. I wish I had them recorded. There may be some footage floating around youtube somewhere.
Memphis
Although I lived behind an Iron Curtain in the eighties, I recorded it first, and then managed to buy a vinyl next year.
