Only because his career was cut short with Heart in 1979. Pretty sure that none of the “underrated” talk would be mentioned if things had played out differently for them. His songwriting still marks the best of Heart’s song catalog!
@Cire Rednulk Just saying, u rarely hear about him when there's Heart talk. It's always about Ann and Nancy, and well deserved, but I feel Heart would not have been as great and successful if Roger wasn't there at the beginning.
Only true Heart fans understand how epic this was! Mistral Wind was one of their songs most people didn't know was so amazing. And for Roger to join Ann for this performance is really a kind of bucket list for those of us who didn't get the chance to see the original lineup live. I saw Heart their first tour without Roger and have always wished I'd seen him with them. I'll be watching this over and over for a while. Oh, and . . .holy shit!! Ann sounds amazing!
I was an Eastside kid when they broke out. So this is MOMENTOUS for me! Great to see them on stage together again. And you’re dead on! For whatever reason this is fairly unknown & seldom brought up. But the phrasing & musicianship in this song made it my INSTANT HEART FAVORITE-more importantly one of my all time favorite songs by any band regardless of era or genre! 👊
I saw the original Heart in a small community college field house in '78 with maybe a two thousand people in the audience. I was about 15 feet from the stage. I saw most of the big acts from the very early 70s to the mid 80s mostly in New York like NYC and the metro area so when I say the big acts, they were THE biggest. Anywhere and anyone from Richard Naders Rock & Roll Revival, Santana, The Who, Steely Dan, Chicago and The Doobie Brothers to Jethro Tull, Van Halen Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Beck and everyone in between. I just missed Led Zeppelin when Bonham died but I saw Robert Plant and even Jose Feliciano and Cheech & Chong. I saw them all BUT the best of them all was the original Heart. They left us all dumbfounded. The only band that came close to being so tight was probably Jethro Tull but Heart was the absolute best live band I've ever seen. Hands down! The shame of it all is that Ann and Nancy cut their own throats and burned their bridges when they started breaking up that first band. Nancy had great showmanship and was a damn good guitarist (she's never been one of the greats) and Ann was without question maybe among the top 5 greatest rock vocalists ever to grace a stage and I mean EVER BUT, that original band is what put them into the stratosphere and Roger Fisher was a cornerstone of that first Heart lineup. He was the first one they kicked out and that was the stupidest move they ever made. After that they continued to cut their own noses to spite their own faces. Without those originals they were just occasionally great but never again were they one of those timeless bands. Ann and Nancy never had that rare feel to pick iconic music she needed to make her into an icon herself after that band split up. That band made iconic music and Anns voice put them over the top. Separate the two and they both just fade away into "has beens". I personally think it was all Anns ego that messed it all up.
This performance is absolute proof that a reunion show (perhaps not necessarily a whole tour) and/or a new album can and should happen sooner than later. The band is looking for ways to celebrate Heart's 50th anniversary in 2023 and a reunion of the original 6 members is the best way for the band to celebrate their friendships, music, and their fans. Every one of them still has the ability to do their stuff. They all still have their musical chops. Steve Fossen and Mike Derosier have been practising Heart songs for years with their "Heart By Heart" cover band. Howard Leese is still going strong with Bad Company and his other projects. There really is no excuse not to make this happen. The only thing that will ultimately stop them is their age. Please do not let age become the deciding factor.
I would like to see it happen, but this band has so much Ann & Nancy drama attached to it, with each other and with their bandmates, that I am not sure it will ever happen. Still, it was good to see Ann & Roger together, maybe that will be a start of something positive.
I would love to see that happen but realistically I don't believe it will.... if it was it would have happened already..... the induction was in 2013 & yet nothing has happened...
It's not their age that stops that from happening. It's Ann and Nancy's egos. They've had it in their heads for decades now that THEY were Heart and that's a load of nonsense. I saw a video recently where Roger said that he had gone to a concert by Ann and Nancy and after the show the sisters had a meet and greet that was open to everyone except that when Roger asked if he could go back and say hello they closed him down and didn't allow it. One interesting feature: Steve Fossen & Mark Andes as ultramelodic duet bassists, in 4ths, 5ths, counterpoint, & harmony!
Chills. Tears. Thank you, Ann. It was very heartwarming to see reconciliation. What the world needs to witness for sure. “For such a time as this” Love, healing, forgiveness, unity. Music can do that. Such a wonderful song.♥️

I’ve always loved this song. Always, since I was a teenager. It’s one of my faves. A few months ago I analyzed it for a songwriting class I’m in. That’s when I realized how fucking brilliant it really is. To compare a love affair to a Mistral Wind. Just wow. That’s just awesome poetry, man. And then the music that supports the intensity of the words…... Ann, Roger, et.al., you guys are just classic, classic masters of your many, many crafts. And Ann, you can still sing the sh*t out of this song. You rock, lady.

Amazing!!! My then girlfriend now wife and I heard this live for the first time in the late 80s early 90s on the Bad Animals or Brigade tour. Dog and Butterfly is a underrated album. Outstanding version here.
I remember listening to this album when it first came out and kind of drifting away on my bed . . . Then, BOOM, this song takes off. I sat up in bed completely mesmerized!!
What a treat. Always great to see Ann perform. She’s THE best. Love that she invited Roger to play with her. Together, they are absolutely the best of the best. ❤️
Good to see everybody's grown up. I sure hope they enjoyed this as much as we have. Huge respect for them both and am humbly grateful to see them perform together, again.
I was standing in the front row for this epic surprise will never forget the performance of a lifetime nor talking with Ann and going to private event across the street up 16 floors where the band and Rog and family were in top form! This hard-core Heart fan can scratch one off on a bucket list...
Thrilled to see Ann and Roger play together (great band too). The first few Heart albums are incredible. I'd love to see a new album or dvd with the original band. That said, the stuff after the personel changes really good too, but a different feel. Love how Ropger always approaches the guitar and stage with reverance and respect for the art.
Simply wow! Ann and Roger on that stage together are like two energy vortexes converging in total harmony. Their mastery as musicians has not diminished in any way. Always loved Roger’s playing. So unique and powerful. Ann you are a treasure to us all and I am so grateful to experience your art. This was a fantastic treat. Thank you!!
Ann makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I feel chills when she sings. It's like This Beautiful woman sends pieces of her Soul right through us when she Sings. What Talent. And I Can't say these feelings for all Musicians. I feel Her!!! Live Long, Love you Ann and Nancy!!!
Oh my goodness! No words indeed. Thank you Ann for collaborating with Roge on this! Still missing Nancy, but it does my heart good to hear this. Love you both as well as all of the original band members of Heart! Ann, you are the voice of Heart! But I still love to hear all of the original band members playing together! You guys were so awesome together!!!! Much love to All of Heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ann, that was a wonderful gesture on your part to have Roger play with you on Mistral Wind!! Many of us would love to see the original lineup for one concert before its too late. Your voice sounds incredible, so glad your doing well.
I still remember all of the words. Listened to this song a lot growing up. I just love this lady and I'm glad that she got Roger Fisher on board to do this!
Ann Wilson is a Goddess!! Is that her accountant on drums though?? Bring back Michael Derosier!! The only drummer who ever came close to sounding like Bonham!! Loved his playing!!
My favorite Heart song. They started as a Zep cover band and this is their most Zeppy sounding original. Every time I hear it I can imagine Plant singing it with Bonzo playing drums.
If there's any band I'd love to see do a reunion tour of the original line up, it's Heart!!! What a rhythm section that was with Fossen and Derosier and Fisher on lead guitar!!! Come on Ann and Nancy, do it!!
One of my favorite Heart songs of all time, and yes these ladies and gents should put aside their differences and do a mini tour playing only the songs they did together, time is of the essence,it’s a shame that we recently lost Christine McVie but Fleetwood Mac gave so much of themselves that there should be no regrets,I would love to see the original band together while they’re still here but,if you can’t stand each other,it’s not going to work, would be nice and there would be sellouts galore💯
My favorite Heart song. Never will forget the first time I heard this live in 1978. Hard to believe that this was not the "HIT" off of Dog and Butterfly. The two songs that were hits were pretty darn good..... but they weren't this song.
Jesus CHRIST her voice! i bought DnB when it came out and this hits the same feels! if you missed seeing them live in the 70s, see them NOW and you AINT missed a thing!
When the original Heart was together, so much focus was on the Wilson sisters, even the sisters felt it was unfair that the guys were treated like hired background players, when THEY (the guys) FOUNDED the band! Roger Fisher has been overlooked--he may not be "the greatest," but he's one of the MOST IMAGINATIVE guitarists in the rock world (2nd only to Steve Howe of Yes); even Edward Van Halen 🎸🔥 was a Heart admirer!
THIS is what the fans want to see...personally I just missed this period...I was born in 72 so I missed out on the original version so I would love to see a reunion of the Heart I missed. Been a fan for so long, but this is the only thing I missed out on. Passionworks and on....I was THERE....;)
did you see heart live in the mid 1980s? it was bombastic. people in the media hate the reagan era and the rock bands of that era but it was the best era ever for music and live concerts. the professionalism of the 1980s was off the charts.

My then girlfriend now wife and I heard this live for the first time in the late 80s early 90s on the Bad Animals or Brigade tour.
Dog and Butterfly is a underrated album.
Outstanding version here.
Oh man.. when Dog and Butterfly came out this was my favorite song! The build-up shook me to my core! You still ROCK IT ANN!
Same here...still does...every time!!!
I remember listening to this album when it first came out and kind of drifting away on my bed . . . Then, BOOM, this song takes off. I sat up in bed completely mesmerized!!
Right on. And then live they usually followed mistral wind with bebe le strange which shook me to the very core of my soul.
God damn I had no idea Roger Fisher could still rip it so well! That was bad ass!
Paige- esq.
The Heart live version of this song has been on my playlist for 30+ years. Wow Ann...keep rocking!
Bloody Awesome Ann, your Jimmy Page has returned. Hope this continues........
Back when I would lie on the couch and listen to complete albums of Ann and Nan
Yep
I was standing in the front row for this epic surprise will never forget the performance of a lifetime nor talking with Ann and going to private event across the street up 16 floors where the band and Rog and family were in top form! This hard-core Heart fan can scratch one off on a bucket list...
So nice to see Roger on the stage with Ann again, wish Nancy could have been there too.
Man oh man oh man. Absolutely love seeing Ann and Rodger on stage together and not just because of music. We CAN all come together.
Heart was never the same after Roger left. This is amazing!!!
It appears Nancy being a distant past flame, stills holds a woman's scorn over Roger.
Thank you!!
Damn, Roger’s tone. Absolutely stellar. Beautiful to see Roger and Ann here. ❤
Love Roger Fischer's enthusiasm live, he's always had that, still does, very under rated rock guitarist
This reminds me of the old Heart Days. What a great guitar 🎸 tone. Right On 👍 and Ann has one of the best voices in Rock music.
Great to see Roger back up there with you! Keep Right On!
Ann, thank you so much for this. ❤❤❤
So awesome to see Ann and Roger performing together
My favorite song not only by Heart but by anyone, many years at sea in the Navy, this rings true.
Absolute perfection! To me, Mistral Wind has been Heart's crowning achievement since it was released. It's the prefect song from a perfect album.
Not taking anything away from Howard Leese, but Roger Fisher's solo's really made Heart something special to listen to.
Need 1 more tour all original members please...while everyone is well and alive
Truly one of Hearts best songs!
Fisher, Bukovac, Moak 🎸.........and Miss Ann 🎤💜..... Happy heart sensory overload.. 😍.... And last but not least the keeping the meter Dawgs.. 🥁🥁..
Nice to see these 2 great icons get together again after too long a time
I still remember all of the words. Listened to this song a lot growing up. I just love this lady and I'm glad that she got Roger Fisher on board to do this!
Roger and Ann!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Just WOW!!!!
An unbelievable performance by Anne Wilson and Roger Fisher! So great to see and hear them perform on stage, once again.
No one has a voice like her....she's royalty...
Reunion please!!!!
I love Heart but their sound has not been the same with Roger! So great to hear him playing these beautiful songs with Ann!
You mean, without Roger.
Ann Wilson is a Goddess!! Is that her accountant on drums though?? Bring back Michael Derosier!! The only drummer who ever came close to sounding like Bonham!! Loved his playing!!
I saw Heart back in 1980 at the Coliseum at Seattle Center, GREAT SHOW! Nice to see that Ann is still singing 41 years later!
Amazing! My goosebumps have goosebumps!
My heart is full is all I can say! My favorite band of all time. Roger Fisher?!! Yay!! So happy!!
Awesome just f..king awesome just like the old days
Btw, we appreciate the quick work on getting this up for the fans who couldn't be there...KILLER VIDEO
Roger Fisher is as amazing as ever! And Ann well your voice travels the universe and finds it's way to all of us, so amazing! Peace and Love!
Thank you Ann for including Rodger. Forgiveness, love, healing. He's a real genuine guy.🥰...still hot too.
@@dampergoldenrod4156alot of people even the band look back at that era with Negativity. That was an awesome time for music and for heart included some of their biggest hits. Loved those 80s live shows too. Good times
Ann please get the old heart band together Leesse and Fisher Days was Heart at its best
Such a beautiful song, that showcases her amazing vocals so well
Brought tears to my eyes!
It's nice to see the fire back in that song again.
Love Ann's passion in her music and this song always gives me chills...What an awesome version and Roger Waters is phenomenal.
Wow that's one of those goosebump moments that music and words just strike Gold at the same time Love this song and Ann you just sung your soul off AWESOME...
Goosebumps still this morning watching it back! I do not have words that do justice to what an amazing experience it was to be there. 💜
Roger Fisher was one of my guitar idles. It was a joy to see him perform with Ann Wilson. I could never watch a heart video until now, because Roger was not playing with the band. He played a big part in heart's music being so good.
Love it Ann your voice chills me to the bone.So Beautiful 🥰
I remember getting the album that had this song was on , and was blown away when I heard it . I don't think I ever heard it on the radio , but I loved this song . Another great song that I never heard on the radio was from Aerosmith , called "Seasons of Wither "
One of my most favorite songs and I've been blessed to have seen Heart and Ann solo perform it. Seems to always bring tears to my eyes with Ann's vocals. I love you Ann ! And I love you as well Rodger !!
Thanks for letting me into your world way back in the 80s in Las Cruces, NM.
Loved the Original HEART BAND...!!! Miss them wish they had stayed together...!!!
The Master RF sits in to remind us all just what a monster player he is and as important as Ann's voice in creating Heart's "sound"
takes me back to the classic heart years brilliant
Epic!! Roger doing what Roger does best. Very happy to see you two sharing the stage again. Takes me back to the old days!
It's not normal how she still sounds so good.
That did not sound good, vocally at least.
I'm so sorry I missed this!!! I wanted to take my brother Jason to this show for his birthday but he couldn't go... Dammit!!! This song is one of my favorites... Love you lots Ann, thank you 💜
This is One of my many Favorite Heart songs
Ann, you are such a wonderful , beautiful , powerful Artist.
O my God!!!
I feel ur soul
You Give so much!!
Beautiful 🥰.
So glad to see Roger playing with Ann again.
