I enjoyed that one series you had a couple years back to breaking down the heart stuff. The amazing thing was the magic man and you broke a string just like you said happens a lot when you got to tune that thing so far up
Roger, this was one of the absolute best guitar videos I’ve seen in a long time! I was not familiar with Mike and the art of guitar until this, but I’m a fan now. I’m going to be scouring UA-cam for more videos of Roger Fisher showing us how it’s done! Thank you so much for this.
I couldn't agree more. Also I really wish the girls would give him credit for his contributions. I've watched interviews where they talk about the genesis of Barracuda and never mention Roger once. I know they didn't part on the best terms, but he deserves to be recognized.
@@jaecenwhite2590 True. A few 70's players were really forward thinking - EVH is the obvious one, and Micheal Schenker, but it doesn't seem like Roger Fisher is given that kind of credit.

I love it when famous artists are so appreciative of younger generations wanting to learn. A 100 years from now people are still going to listening to and playing this music. Feels like they are passing the torch.
Roger Fisher is among the guitar players who wrote solos and parts that are so integral to the song that, if you don't play them note-for-note, you aren't playing the song.

Tangible joy is a great way to put it. In the early 90s I had the privilege of recording demo versions of songs for my new band at Roger's home studio. We didn't have a lead guitarist yet so I ended up hacking my way through solos. I was feeling very intimidated with Roger in the room watching me but he did a great job of putting me at ease and seemed genuinely interested in what I was doing. Even though he didn't need to be in the studio with us he was clearly having a great time just hanging with us for the 4 or 5 days we were at his studio. Went out to lunch with us one day too just to talk shop about the business side of the music industry. He's a genuinely cool guy.
He loves the next town over from me and we gig at the same spot. My band and I were at the place for an open mic and Roger rolls up. I’m a massive fan boy so I just keep my distance. Roger gets up there with that very guitar and jams out with two other guys and he floored us all. Just completely lit up the crowd on a Tuesday night. Mr. Fisher made it feel like the weekend was here and was never gonna end. The man is a true gift.
I really appreciate the fact that through many of your videos you emphasize on the very details that makes an original recording the jewel that it is. This is very valuable for me and I'm sure for many of your other subscribers. Thank you, You rock!!

Great video guys, love Rogers classy licks and style. It was an honor to see my childhood guitar hero in action and in good health. Time goes so fast, at 60 I can still remember the first time I heard Baracuda on the radio, what a great rocking song!

What an cool and awesome person Roger is. Again, the importance of how to give more of yourself into playing it, than 'just' learn the right notes. Just Like Mike always teaching, technical with psychological approach. Because Mike has good insight:)

Still going at it while I still can ! Have 30 videos on it so far and starting to figure it out a bit more :) Subscribed to your channel and will be watching . Thanks man !
Wow! Good for you dude! Schooled by the Master of one of the most Iconic licks in Rock and Roll. If I ever learned to play, that is the song I would want to learn. Skipped my High School Prom in 1980 to go to the Heart show in Charlotte.
The attack and cut off of notes isn't talked about enough. Crazy on You is a great example of this. It's tempting to play it with a bit of a bluesy Zep feel, yet his attack is right on the beat and would be the segue to bands like Def Leppard. Same with Barracuda, it's a much tighter strumming pattern than expected.

That was awesome!!! Thank you Mike AND Roger!!!
Mike, I sure enjoy your videos. But this one is offside interesting. Listening to him is crazy interesting and helpful. What a master. And how cool for you to show your interest in his approach and technique. A sign of another master I think; never stopping wanting to learn. What a treat! Thanks for doing this. Amazing.
