    Medaase! My mom passed away this year and I was always too intimidated to try to make Jolllof. I made it for the first time using your recipe and it reminded me so much of her. I don’t know why I was intimidated, following your recipe was easy. Medaase.

    I’m African American and my best friend who is Ghanaian has shown me how to make jollof. I had been looking for a video recipe to also follow along with as I make it for my first time. Your videos on the simple and the fancy jollof rice are extremely helpful and the closest to her family recipe. Thank you so much and wish me luck. 😊🙏🏾 P.S. My boyfriend is also Ghanaian and I'm trying to learn for him. So I'll be subscribed for more dishes! Medase!

    WOW, Ive tried for many years to make a Proper Jollof Rice, and after watching your video something clicked, I understood everything. I am American, and my daughter is Ghanian/American, I know how to cook all the stews but this rice has always been a challange. But today I did it. Thanks a lot. God bless you

    Looks absolutely delicious. I'm a English woman who absolutely loves African food & carribean. I already know how to cook carribean food so I'm now learning African. I make Nigerian jollof rice, its nice but not perfect as I'm still learning. I will attempt this recipe tomorrow. Thank you for sharing

    Born and Raised in the United States of America, I was introduced to Jollof Rice about 5 years ago, by my friends here who are from Ghana (Kumasi). I LOVE it. The last 2 years or so, I have ventured into cooking my own. Still a novice, but I am improving. LOL. This looks SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! I will definitely use some of your tips, to add to what my friends from Ghana taught Me. Thanks.

    A few months ago a West African diner owned by a Lebanese couple who lived a long time in Sierra Leone and the chef's are West African opened near the area I live in and my very first West African dish was Tieboudienne and I was amazed from it being delicious.
    A few days ago I had Ebbeh (made from cassava) and also was amazing though very spicy.
    And today I had Pepe Soup (Pepper Stew with fish) also really amazing.
    I look forward to try more West African dishes in the near future.

It seems so simple and yet so yummy...I'll definitely give it a try...God bless you..And I also have a question : Can we replace tomatoes paste by tomate purée , I know the consistency is not the same but I was just wondering... 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @InAmmasKitchen
      @InAmmasKitchen  4 роки тому

      Thanks! I haven't tried replacing tomato paste with tomate purée so I'm not sure how that works out with the taste. It might possible have effect on the colour though. The paste assists in giving the rice its colour.

    I'm trying this right now. Idk how to estimate how much rice tho. I hope it turns out good. It's easier with regular rice because the water is clear and you can tell how much water there is. Fingers crossed

      Hi Shanah, I hope it turned out right! I used 3 1/2 cups of Jasmine rice, all the ingredients are listen in the description box

    do you drain some of the oil off the onion before adding th tomato mixture? (im Caribbean but LOVE Ghanaian jollof rice and would love to learn to cook it instead of buying it)

      Kudos to you for learning how to make Jollof rice 🙌🏾 I do not drain the oil off the onion before adding the tomato mixture. You can remove some of the oil but if you do you'll have to cook the tomato a bit longer.
