Thanks so much, Dee and Dory. I thoroughly enjoyed the instructions and the chit chat. The back and forth helped, because before I could formulate the questions, you asked them. I bought used years ago but never turned it on. Too many other things going on. And I have a 4 thread Elna that works great, but, of course, no coverstitch. So I sent the Huskylock for her spa treatment and she came back all threaded for coverstitch. I'm not going to change that, at least for awhile. I'll use 2 machines. Maybe forever, but I know one of these days I'm going to have the change the thread color. I know I'll be able to do it now, and I will practice sooner rather than later. Less anxiety is always good when sewing. You two are the best.
I have this serger and have been trolling UA-cam for videos on it with very little luck. So grateful to you for making this video. The manual barely touches on the little hook you push in from the open side cover. I also didn’t know to put the lower thread behind the unused stitch finger, I had it in front of it. I’d love it if you’d make many more videos on this serger. I have the vcr tape that came with it, but no vcr. I have another set of attachments for putting bias binding and I’ve never seen instructions for it’s use. I bought mine new but don’t have the attachment directions so I’ve never used it. I use my serger and the cover stitch the most.
So glad we were able to help with this video. My husband originally did the video so I wouldn't have to pester him everytime! We had purchased ours used, so didn't have anything but the manual, which wasn't the best on instructing. I use bias tape a lot and didn't know it had an attachment for it! Thank you for your comment and watching!
Thank you for the demonstration. I have decided that I will stick to my old ways and use a variety of existing Stitches that are available on my machine to finish the interior of seams.
I don’t have the 1003 but the 1001lcd and love it but mine doesn’t have coverstitch…. I ended up getting the s21 used for coverstitch….And I agree good to show as not much on UA-cam about these machines
There should be a different attachment on the front cover. Cause there is a serger attachment, which is the one you currently have on it. You should have a coverstitch cover. They make those so you can change it out.
@@sewingfun is not the plate. On the front cover that hinges open there is a way you can take the serger attachment of and put on a cover stitch attachment, that will make your sewing your triple stitch easier so your able to make wider hems.
@MadeByPam thank you so much for the information. I found the part you said I should have for the coverstitch! I am so grateful. Lol I didn’t even know I had it and it wasn’t with the rest of the attachments, so who knows when I would have put two and two together. This is one reason why I love comments. 🥰

Thank you so much, coverstitch is what I was looking for.
You’re welcome 😊

That's probably much easier! What type of stitches do you use?
@@sewingfun there are a variety of zigzag stitches that work quite well. I also like french seams and for pants, flat feld seams.
Thank you, thank you! I've been stumped!

Thanks. You can see that on the other video we did on threading the lower looper. ua-cam.com/video/RIOZ83GoUFU/v-deo.html

@@MadeByPam oh I get it now! Lol. Slow but sure😀. Do you have this same machine?
@@sewingfun I don't have the same one, I have the husqvarna s25 it is a serger/ coverstitch machine.
