I just realized the Barbarian King is staring in his own game just like Kratos. He fought his way out of hell to change his fate also
He IS badass enough to force kratos to sell his soul
I mean his men were very lightly armed and kratos' army had full armor.

2. Barbarians arent just big dudes with big weapons in big armies. They were trained, disciplined and very strategic which destroyed countless small kingdoms and even the Roman fckin empire.

@@Minority_hunter.. Not clear, but it's practically confirmed that Kratos might be about to die for good in the future - assuming they still manage to keep the series going. And some do believe Thor might be the one to pull it off.
@@blackorcshagrat8587 True, bit remember if you listen to Kratos and Mimir talk with Atreus in the side dialogue, Kratos says "Foolish, whatever is written can be unwritten and that fate is pointless" because he changed his own Fate. Remember... Fate counted on Ragnarok happenin' in another 100 years, but Kratos came along and killed Baldur. Fate never expected Kratos to be there in the first place. Mimir even acknowledges this at the end of the game. So maybe Their will kill him, but remember we did rescue the Valkyries so maybe they'll give him a chance to return stronger (even though he really doesn't need to be) and fight Thor. Or if he goes to hel, he'll do is signature thing, and escape it lol.

The Barbarian King really should have been a much more central character to the God of War series and not just a boss. He IS the only mortal who ever succeeded in defeating Kratos and even nearly killing him. Those are the qualities of someone who should have been Kratos's ultimate Rival

Simple-Commentator-not-really you’re so right. This was, in my opinion, one of the worst boss fights in god of war. I was very disappointed. The barb king should’ve been after the fat sister or around there, with a much longer, difficult battle.
He bested a normal Kratos not the Superhuman that he became after.

Area knew Kratos was a skilled a fearsome person the only reason he’s pretty much “superhuman” is because of the rage that he has. Ares knew by kratos family dying that kratos would be unstoppable which is why he tricked kratos

The game is fantastic but the 2000s game design kinda show at times; but most frustrating is the things that were in GoW 2 that made life easier which are not present in 1
This guy made Kratos Beg for his life starting the entire event of the games why isn’t he included in more stuff
Kratos was just a very skilled warrior back in the day and doesn’t have any super powers, after he got the blades of chaos everything changed, the dude was killing immortal beings and became a literal god of war meanwhile Alrik was wandering as a lost soul in the underworld. Kratos is just on a completely different league than Alrik after all these years.

all of this is because when kratos was nearly defeated by the barbarian king, he was not as powerful as he became, when ares gave him the blades of chaos and all the godly power that he obtained later on. Many of Kratos's enemies could easily beat him when he was not having the blades of chaos and other godly powers. I hope this clears it all

I died when the captain of the ship of the very first level of the very first game appeared, just to be killed again and to find his note claming for revenge on kratos on the third game in the first area.

This game still looks good to this day to me. Sure the polygon count is much lower than current games but they used what they had so well here. Music point too.

This game was truly a gem of ps2.. I’d rather have SMS make remakes with 1 and 2 and take there time with GOW since the first game was so damn good! Patient is key to having a successful game! Imagine having them in today’s graphics.. I would love to see that and replay it again

Here I am, sitting on my bed, trying to soothe the two very small cuts from my cat, thinking that it hurts a lot... Then I remember dark souls, God of war, etc, and remember that if what I feel is painful, why should I get upset my character didn't get back up after being knocked down on their backs?

Actually if you go under a shipwrecked boat on the lake (I forgot which one) there’s an Easter egg where Kratos makes his own journal entry about the boat captain. It says “With the captain in the stomach of the Hydra, the key was mine!”

the Barbarian said that once, he was killed by Kratos, he went to find Hades, convienced him to return to the mortal world and also he made the sisters of fate change his fate so basically he went all the way back in time but since Ares was thr he couldn't kill Kratos as Kratos has his own fate which can't be altered so since that time and until this reunioun he must have acquired those powers. I would love to play as the Barbarian as DLC like how he became the king and how he ended up getting killed twice. would be an amazing DLC

Kratos first met this guy while questing for Ambrosia, and it was that event that caused their feud. Ironically, the quest for Ambrosia was to save Calliope, while the Barbarian-Spartan War indirectly ended with her death.
I really like this boss, this boss is one of my favourite boss in whole series.
Seeing Kratos just fly across the screen at 0:53 is weirdly funny to me.

I remember playing this fight over and over again as I could not move forward as it was too hard for me. Eventually after defeating this guy several times I finally got the courage to move on and found out that I've pretty much mastered this game. Ahh those were the days....
