Love the idea, maybe it's not the buying limit but the total rebuild costs and the selling price that denotes the winner of the challenge, however I understand that you don't have an unlimited budget.

Here's an idea for you. Look for a car for a first time driver. Do a "pay it forward" video. Find a young driver starting out that could use a hand up and pass on the car for a reasonable price. I guarantee you whoever you help will never forget Niko Bros and the fact that you helped them out.

My favorite video ,the fact they the brothers stuck to their guns and didn't go over what they set in price caps. Better to let some one else bid over and take a chance on overpaying and not making any money.Some bidders are paying $10,000 for something that is tops $15,000 and they need to buy a few thousand in parts ,not to mention labor ;no meat left on the bone.
When you set yourselves a challenge you really need to stick to your budget. Maybe the budget needs ot be higher? I have no idea of prices over there but too cheap and you just buy junk so strike a good balance. Good fun anyway Brothers even if you didn't win a bean! 👍👍

Well you guys didn't lose. Actually you did the right thing by just having a budget price and not get anything instead. People are still asking way too much for old cars. Not worth it. This is how I found my other halfs car. She gave me a budget of xxx and that's how I looked for what she could afford. Not too many choices since it was on the lower end but we stuck to it and eventually found something. That's just common sense and you earned my respect. Don't get caught up in those bidding wars. I'll be honest thought, I hate looking for any car now specially since we looked at some real bad ones. You just can't tell by the pictures alone.
How much does it cost after you buy the car? How much do you pay to Copart? Who do you sell these vehicles to afterwards?

How did the rv/camper from a year ago end up, engine swap couldnt start and the complete front would be replaced?
Given current hyper-inflation of vehicle pricing (both new and used), I'm not surprised. Kinda surprised that you guys are surprised.
People are completely crazy with these totalled vehicles. In most states, you need to have them re-certified, which adds another load of money. I have given up for now, these rebuilds are all fun and games but insurance sharks think they can ask - like how much for a wrecked truck? 32k for something that needs 4500 to 6000 in parts? Not even counting the labor and paint....
Do a best buy in different categories and a limit of for example $ 20 000. Best buy campervan, EV, sportscar, SUV etc.
Not even a challenge, can find great cars for that price.

Start with both 1000 and do a 3 or 4 or even 5 auction flips. after the last car is sold who did win. in between buying a new car with the money the first car was sold for.
Flip it up after repairs. a more month deal but every episode will be great content and makes us curious to see what will be the next car and how much did it sell for..

When you sell the car take rebuilding costs off the sold price and that money you can buy the next car.
