Man I wish I would have known about this I've got a 500 Nissan Altima that I've been driving for 3 years it's a 6 speed manual 3.5 l and it will fly and I've only ever had power steering and brake rubber hose issues
It took 10 to get 1 running and driving with n interior... they weren't... what's the word .... reliable .. they were a product of the 80s mullets and sideburns on dicks
I paid $250 for my 85 z28, all original, 124k miles, runs and drives. Interior was a little rough, and needed a tune up. Thats it. Deals exist. And frankly the 4th gen f-body was never that great, or sought after, or collectable... they are a dime a dozen. I gave my 84 berlinetta away for free cuz it was a turd.
Also, thats not an LS. Its the last generation of the SBC, know as the LT1. It is the predecessor of the LS, but a long way from performing like one. And it does not have a 4l60e in it. It has a TH400 or TH350 unless it was modified.
That Camaro is a steal. You've got people selling those in that condition or worse for over $4k. The fact that it's mechanically sound enough for what it went through, makes it the real winner for me.
Never stopped us in the Black Hills. 10 times more dangerous, still ran around in $500 cars. Nearly rolled one on a mountain. Granted we had to use lots of plastic to fill the rust holes in the winter.
We all know who won. It was definitely Grandpa he had the most fun. He raced around in cammaro, had a solo adventure, and got flashed by a beautiful women.
Honestly, this was a lot of fun to watch. It’s has really good editing and clean shots. It is also nice to see normal people out having fun. Everyone was genuine. My only advice would be to simply how you present the points system. Explaining it multiple times isn’t necessary. Maybe a chart you can display to show everything. Either way, I really enjoyed it. Keep it up
I bought one of these just to learn to drive a standard, and plan on dailying it too. His Ranger is 8 years newer, but with worse headlights. His actually looks better than mine, and my body is near perfect.
@@LegendStormcrow yeah the ‘80’s ones are cooler, and you can put round headlights in and they look dope. The old carbureted 2.9’s are loads though, I definitely prefer the “newer” 4.0’s. As in the 30 year old OHV ones lol. I’m only 31 but 1990’s is “new” to me. But having a coil pack instead of a distributor is a huge plus wheeling in the mud and water. I had an old first gen Explorer 4.0 that was a tank. I’ve had v8’s that were worse in the snow, that thing never got stuck in the snow. Mud was a different story lol. Super easy to lift with spring under, i just made shackles for the back out of flat steel, and homemade teflon coil spacers in the front. Never had an issue in the 8 years I owned it. As a 3rd gen specialist allow me to correct you that is a L98 not an LS or an LT. The Lt was available in the 92 corvette but not the Camaro until 1993. However it’s a nice car for 900

I got that truck as an '86. Darn good truck if you can find parts. Wish I could find them for your price, but my Ranger has the OG glass headlights. Glass headlights are bright. Been working on cars ever since, if there's a will there's a way. I showed up with a hand-me-down no name top box but all the employees welcomed me. Lol
Those Ford 2.3L Lima engines, I've had lots. The big problem I had with them was connecting rod bearings. You'll probably never encounter the problem on a short test like that. Every time one went to scrap it was because of a rod bearing. Otherwise, it's one of my favorite 4 cyl engines.
Top gear .. the original English one did something like this .. they had a Camaro RS, an old boat caddy and a dodge regular cab ram. They went from Florida to Texas or something. Anyway, hey you guys are new.. I like your style.
Umm wrong motor in the 3rd gen camaro. That's a TPI 350 not an LT1, LT1 came in the 4th gen z28 from 93-97 and the TPI 305/350 cam in the early to mid 80s corvettes until they started using the LT5 then LT1. The TPI came in the 87 and 88 irocz and formula and trans am as a mass airflow set up then 89-92 had the speed density style

Air powered cars is the the new way for old cars the queen is unavailable for life 😂😂😂
You guys just earned a new subscriber. This whole thing felt like a love letter to Top Gear.
He said he didn't want a $10,000.oo tool bill to start as a mechanic so he got a job at a parts store. Well I started off with $200.oo worth of tools at nissan and slowly added to my collection. Been working on cars ever since, if there's a will there's a way. I showed up with a hand-me-down no name top box but all the employees welcomed me. Lol
at least the camaro didn't have a cow on its roof
Those Ford 2.3L Lima engines, I've had lots. The big problem I had with them was connecting rod bearings. You'll probably never encounter the problem on a short test like that. Every time one went to scrap it was because of a rod bearing. Otherwise, it's one of my favorite 4 cyl engines.
how the fuck did grandpa find that Camaro for so cheap
Super great quality! Enjoyed this video. Y’all are going to get big!
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
The Camaro won to me he had nothing but positive gains she a runner ❗ Great content ❗
I'm surprised yall found anything for under $500
Wait did they spend $500 grandpa said he was in close to $1000
Good watch. Y'all have a good videographer and editor on the team.
Thank you! We'll let them know! Thanks for the support!
Top gear .. the original English one did something like this .. they had a Camaro RS, an old boat caddy and a dodge regular cab ram. They went from Florida to Texas or something.
Anyway, hey you guys are new.. I like your style.
I would like to enter my 1990 corolla to your next $500 car challenge 😏
Yo twins! I got a 90 Corolla too!
I need to know where grumpy grandpa found that car 😮they won’t want crazy prices for them where I’m at even if it’s not running 🤦♂️
My 92 is worth 6000 in the terrible condition it’s in. 900 is unthinkable.
'90-92 was speed density, last year for MAF was '89.
@@DNR5586 you are correct, my bad, I thought the 89 started the speed density. It's been a couple decades since I owned a 3rd gen lol
And first year for TPI was 85 in the Fbody
I'm pretty sure that ranger didn't have a T5. It's either an M5odR1 or another Japanese like Aisin or something
I thought the same thing! You are correct! The t5 is definitely a popular swap in these trucks especially if you're swapping from auto to manual!
29:38 where can we get the front camera view
u gotta pay for that
@@ravenacacia7109 👀👀👀
Hell I’d pay for that 😂
10,000 dollar tool bill😂😂😂😂 my box was 15,000 😂😂😂😂.. Loved the video😁
I’d love to have the 92 camaro
You can’t buy any used vehicle here in Alberta for under 1500 regardless of the condition. Everyone thinks they own the rarest most sought after vehicle ever 😂
"I do all the work she says" sure ya do!
hope to see you guys succeed in UA-cam!
