20:35 "hopefully you're not speeding".. as you're riding 90-100mph lol
It's Atlanta, 90 is not that fast on most days.
Love that it's powered by the bike's battery and always on. keep up the good work and videos. You guys are awesome.
This is definitely instrumental in making a decision, meanwhile my wallet is crying, "Not again...!!!" I need that here In VA where the drivers are nuts! Great work guys.
DMV drivers have become insane over the past 6-7 years. Stay safe bro
I have rewatched the old adventure series like 15 times AND I WANT MORE
I’m curious as to what the footage quality would be like at night, especially with your reversed camera installation.
Bump
Follow up video requested. 😉
I have some footage from the K1 version on my page, day and night.
Can only imagine the quality has improved with later models
@@VeryFastRodi thanks
I have the VSYSTO 1080p on my bike and it works great. Audio not so much but I love the loop recording. This K5 will be my next purchase for my new SFV4S! Thanks for the review.
Swapping the front and rear was a bad mistake!
Great Video! I would like to mention one thing for you guys looking at this who have a GoPro already and don't want to spend the extra money right now. A GoPro will 100% work just fine. The mention of it breaking two pieces is false if used in the hard plastic protective case. Its called the "super Suite" or "Dive Housing". I have personally had one come off due to bad mounting at over 85mph as well as a friend ridding in front of me at about 75+. Both cameras were still on when recovered, recorded the whole thing the whole time. A GoPro will work if mounted securely and you have extra batteries for long rides.
With that said. This appears to be such a great option and a way better option over a GoPro and a top choice among other similar options. I love that it shows the GPS speed, date, time, and direction. This all is very good to know and have in the event that an accident did occur.
On my first bike I wired in a camera system so I had full hd recording with front and rear cameras. I'm currently saving up for a better one but it costs 3 times as much but I can access it via wifi. Having a camera system installed on your bike or car is really worth having for any cool moments or an accident brings peace of mind when it comes to legal matters.
Wow, that audio sounds fantastic 😍😃 I'd have that as background music when I'm going to sleep ❤️
The larger square box camera is 4K (highest resolution) and belongs in the front. This video shows it being mounted in the back. The smaller rear camera is 1080P resolution (lower resolution) EDIT: I see this was mentioned later on in the video
Installation looks like a bit of a chore but it all seems to come together quite nicely when it's complete. The audio setup is in the prime spot.
WoW, that’s so worth the peace of mind. You have proof of anyone doing something bad in front of you. Well since I’m not a Patrion member I don’t expect to get any feedback. But I have been fallowing chase for several years now.
What you mean man? I comment back to as many people as I possibly can. Has nothing to do if they are supporting on Patreon or not.
I'm def getting this for my MT-10 but I'm going to put the front camera actually in the front lol
I had the K1 on a 2012 Harley Ultra. It did great until I t-boned a car in the driver's door at 60mph. Footage (and I) survived, but the front camera was destroyed. My lawyer LOVED the footage and we got every dime from the person's insurance (their fault for failing to yield right of way). My wife told me to 'get another one as soon as you get another bike' and I did. I'm running the K2 on my 2018 Ultra. My only issue has been the phone app not playing nice with Android. Have to put it into airplane mode, then turn on WiFi to get it to work right. I'm thinking about upgrading to the K5, but was worried about mounting the front camera with the DVR up front. After watching your video, I think I will do the same as you did. The K2 is currently 1080p front and 720p rear, so it wouldn't be a loss for me.
"4k" ... companies should give less about resolution and more about cmos size
Explanation to someone who doesn’t know what that is?
Same thing happened to my 360 MAX on I-85 just south of Atlanta. Got the camera, but the SD card was gone.
Would really need to point out that no matter how good an onboard camera is, just make sure you do not ride the bike immediately after starting the circuitries, just in case the camera has some hiccups and didn't start recording. Had a few incidents where this actually happened to me... missed out tons of good footage. Was about to retrieve them, only to realize the camera's hardware bugged out and did not record my trip A to B footages!
So my point is.. if you are going to let your bike warm up either ways (or taking the time to put on your gear), just take that "down period" to check if the camera is recording before setting off. Could save your ass if you really needed that footage for any insurance claims.
I still use my INNOVV K1 version for years now
Great piece of kit for multiple uses
I had a K1 until it was destroyed in an accident (T-boned a car in the driver's door at 60mph). Got the K2 when I got a new bike. Still using it. Only issue is the app doesn't play well with Android phones.
@@Doc_435 I have been thinking about getting a newer version. But as long as it keeps going i'll sttick with the K1.
Do love the design of the K1 the best too, makes it a lot less noticable to other people. And easier to mount in my opinion
Yes I have same camera on my mt10 works really well connected to my phone thanks for all the great videos this year .thanks from danny in the uk
OC: That mic is the best I've ever heard on motorcycle dashcam. I also like the 4K. The only issue I have is the front camera integrated into the DVR. Wonder how long it will be until they get the rear camera to 4K as well?
I think the reason why they have the 4K camera connected right on to the controller board is because of interference with long cable run for 4 K recording.
Great video- Love your workshop
OC: The fact that I could have a "dashcam" on my bike is what excites me! I can't wait until I have the money to get one for my FZ-09. My only concern is rocks hitting the lens. I live in AZ and that's a huge problem here. I'd be worried it would get banged up pretty bad in the spot you put yours.
First time to channel and love it. Great video and that thing is sharp. Stopping over for you guys to install mine 😂😂. Ride safe and HNY
OC: Sticker for Luke. Luke like yeah I'll be taking that. Also Gorilla Dumpy SERIOUSLY? Feature I like is the app with the GPS with that ridiculous refresh rate and the info you get from it like location in coordinates and your current speed. That'll keep you honest cuz some of us see highway on ramp and think haha here is the border to Mexico time to speed.
I fitted a similar one on my bike a couple of years ago with GPS to record location and speed and it works well.
Can I know more info about the camera u have?
@@sanat69 It’s a 2018 model of the Blueskysea DV688 with GPS module. It has front and rear cameras with the the main unit locked under the seat and powered by the bike when the engine starts 😊
OC: The main reason why I want a bike mounted system in general; to not have to take the time to clear my memory card every other commute. Personally, I'd still rock my gopro on my helmet to catch getting hit from the side. I feel like a helmet cam is going to have the best chance at catching everything leading up to an accident, as I'll most likely be looking directly at the vehicle coming at me (unless it is coming from behind). It would be interesting to see where Luke mounts his, as I have a 1200s and I'm not sure it would be a clean/hidden enough install for me personally on that bike (particularly hiding the cameras).
Nice job putting the thing on BACKWAARDS!
Did I miss the reason for installing the cameras backwards? Edit: Oh, found it later on.. - fitment.
@@Rovari1969 Yep. I'd prefer to have the 4K in the front. Rear Camera is only 1080.
I just realized. Your motorcycle looks like Johnny 5 from “Short Circuit 2” his bike is alive.!.
Best thing? Endless power!
Now, that rear camera sitting up there like a teeny tiny wannabe top box...come on guys. Mount it on the rear fender before it gets kicked off swinging a leg over.
Chaseontwowheels is my fav
No
Where is the best place to put the yellow wire? I don't really like the idea of splicing my wires but I don't think I have much choice in the matter.
I would absolutely love to have a workshop to work on my bike in..keep safe brother
OC - I ride an FZ6 S2, I have my external microphone for my GoPro located in the tailpiece, I get a great sound of my exhaust pipe and the clunk from the gearbox :-)
This is why I want this kind of cam.
I definitely like the app! The app on my system is absolutely horrible! The camera quality is similar, but I definitely tell a difference with the 4k front (placed on the rear) cameral. So, I would definitely like to see some night video and I would also like to know what their customer service is like if there is some type of problem!
I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s pretty cool to have all of this bundled into one package and for less than $500, it’s really not that bad; however, I did notice that the speed on the video footage took quite a while to update when Chase got on the highway. It did it a few times. For $500 I feel like it should be more responsive. Just my option though.
Horrible choose of camera placement. Frontcam (placed on the back with 4K) is way to exposed for thiefs. If stolen your footage is also gone. Backcamera (1080p) is mounted way to far back and now it has the frontfender permanently in sight. It covers 1/3 of the picture permanently! GPS sensor is mounted visible although it can be hidden and keeps working. And the remote control is replaced out of direct sight although it has indicator LEDs which should be seen.
Yeah I need a dashcam for my bike. You're totally right, gopro is always dead when you need it most.
its interesting for racetrack for me
K5? That must be a new system. So new it doesn't even appear on Innovv's own (UK) website!
I agree that the 'rear' camera would have worked better in the original location (gap under the headlights), but with the horn bracket location the proper front (4k) camera would have been ok...?
I recently installed a dual camera system on my bike (not an Innovv system) because of the very thinking you were mentioning. I wanted something that would just work when I started the bike, didn't have to worry about battery life and recorded forward and reverse angles.
The system I use is a Blueskysea dual 1080p system. To be honest, it's ok as a dash camera but certainly isn't good enough for video use, except in a pinch. In my 'round up' video about the system, I summarised it as 'better than nothing'.
One thing I would recommend - these systems are generally 'fit and forget', but DON'T forget about them. I recently went to download some footage of an incident (near miss) from my car's dash camera, only to find it had developed a fault some time before and video was completely corrupted. So check on the video footage periodically, or you might find you recorded nothing, just when you need it most.
I’ve had the INNOVVK2 for a couple years now. Sadly, cannot get Bluetooth to connect to app after the first 6 months. Worked great until then. Customer service for me was terrible. Friend just installed K5 on his motorcycle, having issues with powering up. Customer service, again horrible. I can get my video if I remove the sd card manually. That’s a real pain.
I have the K2 that is 1080p and the video quality is fantastic.
How well does the buttons work? What do they do? How (well) does the parking mode work? And any instant/event capture photo or video? Thanks 🙂
What shop is your shop?
I recognize the intersections and roads as north Atlanta / Marietta, GA.
I had the K2 and, aside from the internal mic, it was pretty good. Certainly sufficient to capture my adventures. I sold it with my Yamaha and look forward to getting the K5 for my new bike.
Yes, it's a bit pricey but if I'm hit from behind or exceed my skills on a mountain road, this is the unit I want.
Can you see the rear camera and flip it so it can be rear view mirror. Also does it record 24 hours a day with night vision
The GPS is crap. You were on the highway and it said you were going under 20mph. Earl5it said you were going over 1000 mph, when you obviously were not unless the traffic you rode in consistently travels at over 90 mph.. the price is crazy, and I don't see much improvement on the 4K camera over the 1080 camera, not enough to spend that much on it.
Hopefully the software on the K5 has evolved since the K1. I've had the K1 on my bike for a few years now and occasionally it gets stuck during shutdown (keeps saying it's shutting down, over and over, until its internal battery goes flat). BUT, when it does that, it turns out it's recorded NOTHING for most of that ride - so it's likely it got stuck at some point during the recording. It's done it with a couple of different SD cards. I've yet to find a new firmware version that fixes it (but the K1 seems to be largely based on the Ambarella reference code from what I remember, so likely wouldn't get fixed unless Ambarella released new code). Aside from that - which hits me once every 10-12 rides - it works very nicely though. Hopefully they've fixed that issue in the K5.
What about mounting that front camera right between the Gap in the front headlights
@650ib you need this for smackdowns
I just got an insta360 OneR to replace my gopro as a dash-cam. much simpler install. Hopefully won't fall off on the highway =P
I saw this video when it was a fresh release and just remembered it this week. Thinking about buying one of these. Have you guys actually use any of the footage from this or have you removed it? Thanks so much.
Best feature by far is it's permanently mounted on your bike and doesn't need to be charged. Now your helmet can just be a helmet.
id just worry about theft. be nice if it was on quick disconnect mount and the wiring was easily disconnected
I can not afford buy this dash cam but thanks for the video!
Can you hit a button on the remote to take still images while recording video ?
Wanna do one on an MT09 now so I don't have to figure out all the mounting and wiring myself? 🤣🤣
Def considering getting one of these, but the install does seem a bit daunting. Electrical work is hands down my least favorite.
Super cool
That rear camera is liable to be dislodged by a passenger. I wouldn't have placed it there.
Also, I think it was wrong to switch them front to back, etc.
How do I reduce vibration of camera.?
It would be perfect if it has camera stabilization function.
Still wondering if ur ever gonna record the 600 supersport class comparison. This is the last year to do Yamaha and Honda.
It’s Chase’s safety glasses for me. 😏
Great video 👍🏾👍🏾
I have 2 different camera systems but the mounts that come with them just dont fit anywhere convenient, and the spots i could place the cams are too shaky in my opinion, or too close to my pipes
Please tell me you have an Austin Racing pipe on order and that’s why you still have the stock exhaust!
$500? I had a 1080p K2 and also a BlueSkySea B1M, both work great for that price!
Why did you put the 4k camera in the back and the 1080 in the front?
Hi there I hope you read this, please could you tell me where the best places to put a k3 or k5 on a Kawasaki ninja 650. KRT
I had it on the centre just above the mudguard where there is one screw directly in the middle. But as Kawasaki Ninja is notorious for diving down at the front
So this was scratching my mudguard.
Any ideas. Please please help
If i had to pick something I liked about it. I'd have to say I don't have to worry about someone stealing the camera of my bike.
Chase how do you feel about this setup? The K3 is due out any day now and I’m debating between the K3 and the K5
Probably better that you installed the 2mp at the front cause of the camera hidden out of direct light. 4k cameras need more light.
Where are you in Georgia… I need one installed on a GS1250 Adventure.
Is there a recurring cost to use the GPS function?
Definitely not a novice instal how long did it actually take to get done.?
Way to expensive. Go for wasp camera. I had them for years. All I highly recomand is to immediately install an adopter to convert the micro usb to c. And fill gup with hot glue.
Swear you put them the wrong way around🤣
Not sure how much UA-cam is compressing the footage but it looks pretty bad. Blotchy, pixelated and not sharp at all. Thanks for helping me decide. It's definitely not worth that amount of money.
I fitted a cheaper cam to my bike, cams are smaller than innov. Q. Why (incl mine) are cams not both 4k? And they don't seem to let u know which can is 4k or 1080!. Loop rec means SD card not a prob for 2 x 4k??
Sd card not the issue, Although writing to it might be, they haven't gone 2x4k cams because of the price point, which is why they have the dvr in the front camera ( quality ). Also companies gotta leave themselves room for innovv.....ation. K2 jump to K5, chuck in a mid point K3, maybe a K8 with 2*4k's or even an 8k blah blah - ye get the point me thinks.
Woah! what is that ratchet he's using at 7:23 ?? i would love to know.
A professional storyteller, so much chit chatting and this guy doesn't even know ho to test review a dashcam.
No audio, the front camera was mounted on the back, maybe go sell bananas at the local fresh market and you'll get a better experience!
OC: mic under the seat?? That is fart recorder :D
When put the Mic under the seat, it could record awesome engine or exhaust sounds. Also, you could clearly record your voices during road trip by attaching it to the helmet, making it a helpful gear for the motovlogging.
@@INNOVVDashCam I was just kidding. As chase was showing in video the sound was good
@@silfear1 Aha, got it. But we shall admit that the audio quality is quiet good with the external Mic.
i had the 4. could never get the app to work. plus customer service sucked!
I was just thinking of hardwiring a 360 cam to my handlebars
Does the speed come with an option to switch off? Could be incriminating if not..🏴
You just installed the cameras backwards. 4 k camera goes in the front!
"...We don't speed here" while going 93 on the highway 🤔
MT10 content!!!!
We all know you never speed Chase. Traffic is just going 20-30mph under the posted limit. But for real, traffic out there seems to flow pretty well.
You really need to change the exhaust chase
I decided not to buy this unit the moment he said “The wires are not that long”
OC - Hopefully you're not speeding because we don't speed here...unless it's a first ride....or a riding vlog...or....
Would someone please step in and take their tools away. This is painful to watch!
hows the low light? at night?
did you buy that bike yet?
When you hit the record button, does it record both cameras? Do you have then two files to down load, and where does it put the files? On you phone, or on a SD card.
Hello, both cameras of INNOVV K5 will work when you press the record button on remote control. Those files will be saved on a SD card and you could kindly download those files with INNOVV App on your phone or get those files with the card reader on your laptop.
Hi, can I get one. This thing is not available in India
To ship vietnam how many ??? Usd
The camera is $500 it's way too expensive
Folks this thing costs four hundred and.........lost me lol. Nope.
