Bicycling Wisconsin's Chippewa River State Trail (August 9, 2023)

We decided to do a short three-day trip to ride three different Wisconsin Rails to Trails. Our second stop was in Caryville Wisconsin to ride the Chippewa River State Trail. With many reports of poor trail conditions, we did not know if we would be able to achieve our goal of riding to the southwest terminus of the trail in Durand. It turned out that the trail surface was not as bad as we thought and was definitely ridable with our bicycles (Julie's hybrid with 34 mm tires and my mountain bike turned touring bike). The trail was very remote and beautiful and not as busy as the Red Cedar Trail. It was another picture-perfect day for a bicycle ride on a beautiful trail. Since the trail had been so nice, I continued on from Caryville to our hotel (the Oxbow) in Eau Claire. I did not mention it in the video, but this trail also requires a daily or annual access fee ($5 daily or $25 annual).
