  • In this video I continue the flax fiber process, showing how I build the tool, a flax break or brake, to break the core of the plant to expose the fibers around the cellulose core. I was inspired by the design presented by Martin Borden here martinborden.wordpress.com/ta...

@@torbjornahman Does someone in your family spin, weave, & sew with your flax? I was able to visit a "living museum" of Spanish life in the ~1540s (to maybe 1670s?) in Florida and they had grown flax and demonstrated the entire process from breaking the flax and carding it through to spinning and sewing with it. As a kid I was fascinated at what they demonstrated and still am ~50-years later! What you are sharing with us has my complete attention and admiration of your multiple skills. :)

Everything is so finely worked out, you can see it, it also gives you a lot of pleasure in your work. At the end of the month I'm in an epilepsy clinic, I've had two severe seizures again and have to be stopped with medication again. That means staying awake again for 2 nights and days, flashing lights, loud music, etc. to provoke an attack. Well, I'll shorten the time by watching all your videos again.
