I honestly really like how gruesome the deaths are in Indiana, shows what happens when you mess with the supernatural, a very gruesome and painful death before being erased from existence.

He brought back the true treasure which are the children.

The way I always interpreted the scene where Mola Ram died in Temple of Doom was that Indy was being possessed by or somehow channelling Sheeva as he started speaking in the toungues and the rocks burned.
In the first vision, before falling to his death, Mola Ram gains his consciousness from the burns of the stone ( like the little maradjah). This implie he was possessed by the stones, making him sort of a victim and giving him a more tragic and nuanced end. However the final script didn't go that way and just made him evil
