  • Someone commented on a different video of ours stating that they didn't like how our starter and other wires were "exposed". So, we made new wires! Basically the Big 3 Upgrade round two for our 1999 Chevy Suburban, but this time with clean, soldered connectors, that don't require any crimping. And this time we actually used heat shrink.

I like the firs one better, but I solder them into ferrules , much like how you did here.

You might think about getting a battery terminal distribution block instead of that little flimsy low amp battery terminal, also a ANL fuse holders and fuses to protect things. The only circuit that should not be fused is your starter cable. You might want to check out SMD fuse blocks and GP, XS, Sky High, many others 2, 4, & 6 post battery terminal block. Also the last thing is you might want to stake your terminals even though you solder them, if anything ever happens you could melt the solder and y have a live cable. It's better to have a mechanical connection.

Ok.. So maybe I am the only person on here that’s a bass-head so far… But the blue cased 1/0 wire you chose to use in this video is GARBAGE (CCA) This is Copper Clad Aluminum which is horrible for current transfer! Silver tinned ofc is the 1 & only way to do for an application where the elements are constantly at work👍🏼

You actually say the starter wire also? That’s my understanding... everyone else is saying the 2 grounds and one positive to alternator. Why do you think this is? Or would big 4 be pretty much better? I’m confused lol

Yes, so it is for sure the 2 grounds, one from the battery to the frame, and one from the battery to block, and then the alternator to battery positive wire. I did the starter wire, but I think the starter to battery wire is *already* a pretty beefy one, which make that last one more of a replacement than an upgrade (unlike the other 3 wires which are usually not as beefy already)

It would look better with a Northstar battery or an xs with copper plates on The battery terminals much cleaner look 👌
