'Out On The TIles' is one of my absolute favorites by them. I never understood why that isn't a hugely popular song. Such a powerful riff, Robert's vocals are incredible, and the drumming is fantastic. My only 'complaint' is that Jimmy should have thrown a solo in there somewhere, maybe in that ending part where Bonham is going wild on the drums. I guess maybe that's why he didn't put a solo there, since the drums are so frigging good, it might take away from that a little bit. But I'd still love to hear one anyway. :)
The use of Tangerine in Almost Famous was chef's kiss. Cameron Crowe wanted Stairway but LZ refused saying it's overused, we'll grant permission for 3-4 other songs instead and it just worked. Trust the artists who know their own work better.
"Bron - Yr - Aur Stomp... love song from Robert to his beloved dog, Stryder !🐕💖Yeah, Robert's voice is phenomenal, love it. A really great, classic track off the album, "Physical Graffiti ", called "In My Time Of Dying" is a must listen...it's awesome.
Sometimes people my age take this older music for granted because we lived through it. It's great to see younger generations discovering and favoring it!
Hard rock Stretford just across the road from Old Trafford back then with a big fat joint in mouth two thousand Mancunians having a ball. All sat on the floor. They did Bron - Y - Aur Stomp it blew the roof off. They rocked for two and a half hrs. Long time ago and still here with a big fat joint in mouth. 78 years old and still rocking to my favourite bands of all time The Beatles and Led Zep.
Tangerine was a song Page wrote about a girlfriend, so yes done while in The Yardbirds. Yes LZ III is different, but that’s to be expected with Zeppelin. There’s other great songs on this album, well worth the listen, but then they all are worth listening. Thank you for your reaction.
I luv this album many people dislike it this is why they are the best band of all time from hard Rock to ballads acoustic to mellow and luv songs not many groups can so many genre of sound
All Zeppelin albums are awesome! This one unfortunately got stuck between two of the best so it doesn't get as much love. Thanks L33 for sharing some of the deeper tracks! ☮️❤️🎶
Zep III has really risen up the chart of my favorite Zeppelin albums. Often called their "acoustic" album even though there are some bangers. I hadn't heard the whole album in probably 15-20 years. My son left his CD copy in my car after borrowing it for a day so I just listened to the whole record again. Rediscovered this fantastic album. Of course Immigrant's Song and Gallows Pole are awesome. On a personal side, me and my wife raised our grandsons on Immigrant's Song. They were loving the AAaaahaa Aaa part to that song when they were still eating in their high chairs 😃
Ahh... Zeppelin... The top of my top 3 favorite rock bands. Multi faceted talent!!! So much diversity! Another testiment that, as kids, we kinda miss it. Even grown ups miss a lot cuz only hear small amounts from couple sources. I WISH THERE WAS ENOUGH TIME TO EXPLORE EVERYTHING DEEPLY. IT'S LIKE TRYING NEW FOOD. IF YOU DON'T CARE FOR IT AT FIRST, GO BACK AND TRY IT AGAIN. ❤️ 😁
I have a really cool and unusual LZ I'm submitting for November. October submission was too long. I'm looking forward to it. It is a great live piece. Thanks for introducing them to me.
I've been listening to this for decades and I have only just realised that someone is playing the spoons under the handclaps on "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" (Its the sound a bit like the castanets). Every day is a learning day. Keep on Rocking L33.
Love it, my first 'Zep ' Lp when it was released! The original Lp front cover had cutouts with a revolving picture disc inside, so you could change the design of said front cover!! Caught them at 'Earls Court London ' 75, unfortunately I was young and too wasted to remember a note from that gig!! After the concert myself and my mates went back to a friend's squat in Notting Hill Crazy fun times from a previous life !!!.....
Wish I still had it , but travelling in southern India back in 1980 I ran out of money, so sold my record collection for thirteen pieces of silver!!! Sort of regret it now, but seemed like a good idea back then!! Oh well such is life!!!......
“Tangerine” is a great song. It was a leftover from Page’s tenure with the Yardbirds. Written about his breakup with singer Jackie DeShannon, it was initially released in 1968 as “Knowing That I'm Losing You.” Everyone should check it out. I don't think some people realize how many songs from LZ have their roots in Page’s days in the Yardbirds, especially the earliest LZ albums. That said, LZ III is among their best work, marking their maturation and deeper exploration into folkier music and a more comprehensive array of instruments. Sometimes, it is overlooked among their golden run of albums from 1969 to 1975, but I think it hangs with their very best work.
2 songs off LZ3? ...no you are the best! I just got back from the pub, i've had a good night, and i've come home to you playing "Tangerine"!!!!! Magic! For me, it is the beauty of Zeppelin. I'm essentially a hard rock/heavy metal fan but i love most genres, and i adore acoustic and folk music so there is nothing else like Zeppelin.
Loved lll from the git-go, Christmas 1970. OUT ON THE TILES! Just a suggestion. (Plus, masterfully atmospheric pedal steel from Jimmy on That’s The Way.)
Jimmy wanted a band to play the blues, rock and folk music. So there goes Zep lll. Love the album. Their live shows with the acoustic sets became very popular with the fans, up close and personal with the band. Look how big MTV Unplugged series was. ZEPPELIN were doing it in the mid 70s.
Dug this out from somewhere actually in 1979, 1980 when I was a student. Everyone loved playing Tangerine,on A minor, so relatively straightforward as people sang along! …happy days
I'm not really familiar with Led Zep III, but have always been meaning to get a listen to it, so this was good! Really enjoyed these two tracks, especially Tangerine.
Tangerine was written by Jimmy when he was still in the Yardbirds and was then titled "Knowing That I'm Losing You" and was said to be about his breakup with American singer/songwriter Jackie De Shannon. The Yardbirds recorded it as a demo but Jimmy never authorized release under the Yardbird name. For LZ III it was revamped a bit in both musical structure and lyrics and called Tangerine. Jimmy would often harmonize with Robert on this song when played live. Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is a misspelling of Bron-Yr-Aur (pronounced like "bron-er-ire"), which is the name of the cottage in Wales where Jimmy and Robert visited and ended up writing a lot of songs for the third album. The cottage had no electricity or running water so all they could do there was use a battery operated, handheld tape recorder and acoustic instruments . Its an ode to Robert's blue-eyed, merle colored dog Strider, a name used by the character Aragorn from Lord Of The Rings. According to Jimmy, he used his Martin D-28 acoustic guitar in an open D tuning with a capo at the third fret. Jonesy plays a five-string fretless acoustic bass but when played live, he'd use a standup bass. Bonzo added the "stomp", of course, but also played spoons and castanets.
"Celebration Day" from The Song Remains The Same is live and so much better sounding and energized compared to the studio version. "Gallows Pole" and "Immigrant Song".🔥
If I remember right, the album cover has a spinner wheel that spins the the group’s faces on the front cover. The only album my older sister purchased of there’s. I think I was 13 and now 65. Soooooo my memory, well, you know.✌️
YAY YAY & YAY **Luvit** Yes MORE of *MyBelovedOtherWorldlyLedZeppelin* is ALWAYS a good thing!!! More PLEASE!!! **Best Magical Genius Band EVER!!!** to me anyway
Zeppelin, the Masters of music, mood, and song. Many have panned this album, probably because it's not as rocking as the first two, but that being said, it's got some of their greatest acoustic music on it, Tangerine and Bron Y Aur Somp, cases in point. The production on Tangerine is second to none, with that surreal slide playing over the great singing and lyrics of Plant. Bron Y Aur Stomp has very unique guitar playing, played in an open key with harmonics and hybrid picking patterns played at an up tempo. It took me a while to get it down. Tangerine was much easier to pick up, but, nevertheless, still a beautiful song. Great stuff.
I've never heard a single song that was remastered that needed to be remastered. I still have the vinyl albums. They sound perfect. To alter them is like adding new details to a Rembrandt painting. JMTC
I liked this album. The cover was a lot of fun. Reminded me of books for kids where you rotate the insert and change the image. Anyway, I just tuned in for these songs. Gotta go-- you all have a nice day.
I have been listening to Led Zeppelin since I was six years old and 54 years later I mean 52, sorry, math, 48 years later thank you. I’m still listening to them but watching you react to them. I’ve heard all of these albums many many many times and stairway to Heaven. I’ll still listen to it.❤ my favorite of the “big four”, but classic rock style. Who are the other three you might wonder. The Beatles, the stones, Led Zeppelin, and who should the fourth be?
For years I thought of "Led Zeppelin III" as their best and most experimental album. Of course everybody loved "The Immigrant Song" but I found I liked "Tangerine" even more...I guess because of the "Country Music" feel. It's too bad that "Hey, Hey,What Can I Do" wasn't included on the album...however it was the "B-Side" of "The Immigrant Song" single...a hidden gem!
Lots of my friends didn’t like ‘3’ buts up there IMHO. like most outfits they were heavily influenced by The Band. For a banger check out’ Out on the tiles.
Cottage for millionaires, three story mansion. They recorded When The Levee Breaks there among others utilizing the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio.
My favorite Led Zeppelin album. Out on the Tiles rocks.

“Bron Yr Aur Stomp” is right up there with The Beatles “Martha My Dear” as one of the most charming and endearing songs written about a pet dog.
Celebration Day!
The use of Tangerine in Almost Famous was chef's kiss. Cameron Crowe wanted Stairway but LZ refused saying it's overused, we'll grant permission for 3-4 other songs instead and it just worked. Trust the artists who know their own work better.
They actually used Stairway in a deleted scene.
Nice, I'll have to take a look. Crowe's rediscovered Tom Petty MTV movie looks good judging by the trailer
@@spooley You can find it somewhere I'm sure. Not sure why it was deleted? Maybe the length. They played the whole song 😅
Celebration Day and Gallows Pole are great too.
Led Zeppelin three has always been my favorite Led Zeppelin album.
Always wished this song was longer
The incredible sound of the Les Paul on Tangerine...
Tangerine is possibly my favourite Zeppelin tune. Great bottom end from the bass and the acoustic.
Tangerine❤
The GOATS do it again!!! Check out Friends from this same album, Zeppelin 3
I really like this album
Sometimes people my age take this older music for granted because we lived through it. It's great to see younger generations discovering and favoring it!
Cant wait till you get to...Since I've Been Loving You...cant wait!!!!!!!!✌️💞
Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘
Love this whole album ❤️ great reaction L33
Led Zeppelin, the greatest band ever!
Tangerine is used in the movie Almost Famous. A beauty.
I love Led Zep but really love Bron-Y-Aur Stomp!

One of my favourite bands and 3 is my favourite album by them. That's the Way is so wonderful.
Bro-Y-Aur Stomp is just a flipping jam!!! Ass shaking 🎶🎶🎵🎶🔥🎸✌️☮️🕊️
Try out "Jennings Farm Blues." Electrified instrumental version of "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp."
It’s great to see you appreciate them so much!
I love zeppelin. They have a special place in my heart cuz of my mom 👍
That Stomp is legendary.
Tangerine 12-string greatness I got to love the way that it rings

LZ III is their most consistent album, imo
Years ago this wasn't my favorite album but it has become through the years as I appreciate music more and more
I prefer this and LZ one over LZ 2
I absolutely LOVE LZ III…one of their best and amazing acoustic tracks on side 2
I find myself reaching for 3 that 2 or Zoso
Zeppelin rules! Thank you for another outstanding reaction Lee.
Great album, great album cover with the spindle on the front. Immigrant Song, Since I've Been Loving You, are must listening.

"And I do"...love me some LZ. Still my favorite band since they began. Great way to wake up this morning, thanks Lee. ❤😊
Love both, but Stomp gets me stompin'
Between these two is “That’s The Way” and it’s still a relevant song.
Not that LZ was ever all that political 😊

Saw this tour in ft.Worth. The acoustic set was incredible.
More Led Zeppelin please!
They were just so good! Imagine if MTV Unplugged had been a thing in 1970.
Hey, man! That was a beautiful story! I hope you did call your Mom! My Mom died in 2012. There's still a piece missing in my puzzle of life. Rock On!

Out On the Tiles!
Crazy! This is a class on how to play the aquatic guitar
I seem to remember (having a better memory of fifty years back than what I did today), that those were indeed The Days.
Two great songs from LZ III! Next, check out “Celebration Day” and “Out on the Tiles.” ✌️
Jimmy had a 12 string acoustic Guild guitar, plus he played his Fender strat 12 string over top some parts.

Give "Hey,hey, What Can I Do" a listen. Great deep tract!
Tangerine is played in one of the best 70's themed rock n roll movies Almost Famous. Lee, have you watched it? You should.

Jimmy wrote the song “Tangerine” before Zep was formed. It was written for his former girlfriend (the singer songwriter Jackie DeShannon).

Cottage for millionaires, three story mansion. They recorded When The Levee Breaks there among others utilizing the Rolling Stones mobile recording studio.
That was a different house, I believe --Headley Grange.
It is named after the cottage they stayed in but they misspelled the name - it should be Bron Yr Aur, which means "Hill Of Gold".
Here's another request for reaction, how about kamelot "center of the universe" from the live concert one cold winter night?
Definitely a 12 string.
Prefer the original from the Yardbirds, there should have been credit to Keith Relf
