Graduated nursing school in December 2020 and passed my Nclex in Feb. 2021 I still love watching level up RN videos! Never hurts to be refreshed on certain topics!
Thanks for the video I wish I could watch this video before my exam I had questions just like that exactly you are saying now the question was provided as the priority like if it’s accidentally detached what the nurse intervened immediately so I will watch all your inter videos before the next attempt Thank you again
You could use some pictures or actual stuff when mentioning something unfamiliar such as salem seam. Just a suggestion. Your work is great, keep it up. You are also very beautiful I love you so much❤😘😘😘😘😘😘
How much experience and practice does it take for provider to speak so cheerfully about painful or distressing invasive procedure procedures that they have to perform? I see that you said you have experience receiving an NG tube yourself., “ but don’t worry, it’s going to be very uncomfortable, unpleasant and possibly even painful, but we will make sure we don’t give you any pre-medication to alleviate that feeling.” that is my somewhat biased outlook on a topic from having medical trauma/PTSD from painful procedures. After all folks, this is the year 2024, not 1824.
Hi! I believe that the current EBP is to measure to between the xiphoid process and the umbilicus. If we purchase the cards and membership, and new EBP comes out, will we be notified?
Hello when inserting the Naso-gastric tube, can I give the patient any drink (I have in mind carbonated drinks or juices) or it has to be strictly water?
You absolutely can, and in many cases SHOULD, place an NGT to suction before X-ray confirmation. You shouldn’t put anything down it, but suction is okay and sometimes necessary. Not using suction is a myth that needs to die within nursing.
As an ER/trauma nurse, I 100% hear you! But we do have to teach what will be taught for nursing school exams and on the NCLEX, which still say that NGT shouldn't be used (in or out) until XR to confirm. But you're completely right, that nursing theory and practice are wildly different! --Meris :)
I had one put in during surgery when I was unconscious. I couldn't resist or object. Nobody told me what it was after I awoke. That damn thing nearly swelled my throat shut. That made me very angry. Nobody cared after I complained incessantly. 😣😣😣😣😣😠😠😠😠😠
Love when you guys share your real nursing experiences! Thanks for all you do!
Very welcome!

NG is only nasal. There is nothing through mouth . Only thing is air for intubation

at least for your clear accent
