my son call's them years his golden years. i was often away weeks at a time & he basically becalm the man in the house & learnt to do that wat was needed But also the value of friends & dad & mum wen he came back from his work. . ye his golden years he often refers to them time's

Beautiful, just beautiful, congratulations to all of you, I am so jealous, heartwarming, God-given, Amazing, freedom, I looked back at my life and then I look at your videos maybe not in that order and I wish I had done that for my kids. I want to continue making these videos of your life and the girls growing up and going off on their own and then making their ownAnd put it on UA-cam and making a fortune just videotaping their life. Those are really smart parents to have raised those girls. How many children decide to undertake building their own house! Very few. But of course, the father had a purpose in life while still a kid himself so he could set the example. I'm 72 but I sure can learn from them. I have my own little forest in the middle of a town of lawns. Lots of work, removing all that grass, hard to recognize it now. The thing I have in common with them, I live Northern Minnesota, where it also gets as cold as heck. Not moving. I subscribed to their channel just now.

Jeff and Rose, I watched your almost all the videos and I really appreciate your new way of living. It touch my childhood memories and I wish one day I could be like you. In my opinion your way of living and is the best alternative method to save of our living world. Thanks for sharing your great experience and the way you teaching life skill education to your kids in that natural conditions. I think you are the lucky one to start that education. So I salute your courage and life long vision towards the human kind....Finally this is my personal suggestions to you to open a University, where such kind of life skill can be given to the our upcoming generation. If you open that university I would be sending my Son at first to study there.

Wow. This is wonderful. This is a life more of kindness, thoughtfulness, and wisdom. Where as city living is making people smart in a different way. More selfish, more self centered, I would think. And you have a system for education that is different from the production-line modern education system which is full of stress and boredom.

Well, Where to begin? I will keep it short, but I will say, I watched once and did not stop until I had watched every episode over a 3 day period. Why? It's really simple. My wife and I are Christians and we do not have the blessings of children as God had other plans. We have thought of adoption, but we do a lot of mission work and help support 3 churches in small rural communities in Russia. Actually, I met her there doing mission work. These children that come we treat as if they belong to us and we try and make life easier for them. Enough of us. The reason I say all that is, because I love every part of what you are doing for your children and it's authentic Love and it shows. I love ya'll and yet do not know you, but your life is inspiring and you will definitely be well pleased in your later years as you watch them grow into wonderful adults in society. I am truly happy for you both and love the family. God Bless and keep doing what you are doing.
They really should do a documentary in Prime time for the family. It would be so good to instill these life lessons in other families. Thank you for all the hard work, because it is a great sacrifice of LOVE! Children are an Inheritance from the Lord!

Jeff, compliments to your parents... you have such a great countenance - presumably inherited. Rose, you are wonderful. Such great parenting together making terrific decisions. Just cant stop watching your vids with my youngest two boys (of seven and 1 girl). So exiting to share your lifestyle with a different slant than ours where you get to hunt your food as well. But lots of similarities. BTW, we have found our older children didn't so much go through a "teenage" period but rather transitioned from boys to young men. I loved this. Our girl has just flipped and become a woman (albeit a "tom" woman). One of the greatest things of home-school we find is our children not bringing home the unwanted issues so commonly inherited from the group schooling system Also the independence and self sufficiency acquired at home. Enjoy the ride folks - it runs out all too soon. Still haven't worked out where Dave comes into the pic...
As a parent, we love unconditionally all of our children, the same. At times, I find myself evaluating your girls, trying to pick the one that stands out. But guess what? There isn't a standout. All five of the girls are amazing in their own right, unique, skilled, attentive, with a mind that is primed for learning. Jeff, you and your wife have done a magnificent job so far. I wish you and the girls all of the happiness and success that life offers.

A beautiful way to live, we are on quarter acre but have veggie patches many fruit trees vines etc, chickens three cats love living in the country

Hello Burkinshaw family, every time I see a. New episode, I am so impressed on your parenting skills. Your daughters will be the most balanced and well adjusted adults shortly. You may be the best of the best parents I have seen. If I had the opportunity to meet you all, I would be too sad to leave. Suffice it to say, I thought that I had a great "growing up" period but I never came close. Be extremely proud of what you have achieved.
I couldn't be more proud of you if you were my own children. May God continue to bless all seven of you.
Just stumbled here.. as a grandma my first thought was "what about health needs of the kids?", Or.. worst case.. has anyone been Injured or had an emergency?.. not because of your lifestyle, just normal accidents.. a trip on a step.. or a bad infection? How close are you to medical care?. I would wish more folks would do this. I'm going to sub.. looking forward to watching.
Welcome to the channel! You never know when you may need medical care. We're about 35 minutes to a hospital. :)
@@Gridlessness my mind is at ease.. that's not far at all.. most of my kid raising days it was about the same for me.. hopefully you'll never have to use medical care.

Another Video I seem to have missed. Just excellent. I have shared it with my family. I have such respect for this young couple not only for their skill at homesteading but for their attitudes respecting all of the essential elements of life. Roses brief words on Love says it all. Jeff, in my opinion you have thought through this process really well and you have done an excellent job educating your children. In doing so you have both offered enormous hope for a quality life for young families. You are inspiring a whole generation to take their destiny in their own hands and succeed at life.
